Zandspruit is a township in the Region C of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality in the Gauteng province of South Africa. Over the years the place has seen development in various areas. Life quality has gotten better and improved due to efforts by the members of the community. Aurora Private School, commonly known as Aurora, was a private school located in Sundowner, Randburg. It was subsequently acquired by Curro Holdings to formulate Curro Aurora. The school was established in 1993 by Wendy Benbow-Hebbert, Judy Nicholas, and Debbie Adam, three former inner City of Johannesburg teachers who sought to reform practices of the education system perceived as stifling and counterproductive. As a result, Aurora was created as a liberal educational institution that drew significant attention from its inception in comparison with contemporary traditional private schools in South Africa. Later on, the school gained notoriety for being a perceived drug hotspot, with some past alumni recounting times in which they witnessed drug transactions in progress, on the school premises.

Boskruin is a residential suburb, close to Bromhof & Randpark Ridge and located with reach of Randburg. Boskruin, with the Boschkop Nature Reserve, is renowned for its scenic landscapes, tranquil atmosphere, and popular community centre. Estate agents compare the suburb to Houghton, with its picturesque setting, with tree-lined streets and well-maintained properties. While Boskruin is generally regarded as a secure and tranquil suburb, it is not immune to crime. Local newspaper reports include robberies in driveways and burglaries, which sometimes escalated into home invasions. Police are also overstretched, and so the neighbourhood has become boomed and enclosed, as residents seek to protect themselves from those who make a life by dishonest means.

Ticketpro Dome (originally known as the MTN Sundome) was an event venue located in Johannesburg, South Africa. The seating capacity was approximately 13,000 and covers about 11,000 square metres. The Dome opened on 8 April 1998 with a concert by Diana Ross in front of a 15,000 strong audience. Nelson Mandela made a surprise appearance on stage during the official opening. The venue closed on 7 September 2021 due to being sold; it is now a showroom with space for 1,000 cars.

North Riding is a suburb of Randburg, in Region C - formerly Johannesburg Region 5, South Africa. The suburb was named after one of the three historic subdivisions of Yorkshire. 'North' was favoured at the time due to North Riding's location north of the CBD of Johannesburg. The Suburb formerly fell under the jurisdiction of the Randburg Town Council before it was incorporated into the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan area. Of the original 3 farms that were joined to form Randburg, North riding was located on the Olievenhout farm. North Riding fully encloses the Suburb of Bellair Park. The area was once prominently known as a horse riding and stable stronghold in the north of Johannesburg, but gave way to other areas such as Kyalami and Honeydew extensions. This can be seen in the road and street names. Previously the area was rather rural, had Agricultural Holding status and is still referred to as Northriding A.H. by some. After 1996 North Riding developed rapidly, in both the residential and commercial sector. Surrounding suburbs include: Olivedale, Northworld, Northwold Garden, Northgate, Johannesburg North, Noordhang and Golden Harvest. Main streets in the suburb include Blandford, Bellair and Malibongwe (previously Hans Strijdom) with the original entrance roads of Windsor and Smith, Ascot and Hyperion. North Riding includes various shopping centers and bed and breakfast accommodation. Various streams flow through the area, one such flowing from west to north-east is the Olievenhoutspoort. Miriam Makeba lived in the suburb at the time of her death.

Northgate Shopping Centre is a regional shopping centre located in Northgate, Randburg, in northern Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. The centre opened in the 1991, and it serves the surrounding residential suburbs along with being notable for housing one of the remaining public ice rinks in the Johannesburg area, as well as the WeBuyCars Dome, an indoor car showroom.

Currently Monash University is no longer affiliated with the South Africa campus. In April 2019, the campus was sold to The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), a leader in the higher education sphere, and is no longer called or affiliated with Monash University. The IIE is internationally recognised by the British Accreditation Council. IIE MSA, formerly Monash South Africa, was founded in 2001 by Monash University. Monash South Africa (MSA) was a branch campus of the Australian Monash University. It was founded in 2001 and was located on a 100 hectare site in Ruimsig, north-west of Johannesburg, in the province of Gauteng. At its height, Monash South Africa had over 4000 students with a mix from 50 African countries. As Monash South Africa was sold to The Independent Institute of Education a subsidiary of ADvTECH Group. It is now called the IIE MSA and is still offering degrees and diplomas, and is even adding more qualifications to their range.

Randpark Ridge is an upmarket suburb of Randburg, South Africa. It is located in the Randburg region (region C) of the City of Johannesburg. It fell into the town of Randburg during the apartheid era. Developed in the early 1980s and still relatively new, Randpark Ridge is bordered by several other suburbs including Weltevreden Park, Sundowner, Boskruin, Bromhof, Honeydew and Fairland. It is located on the north-west extremity of Johannesburg.
