Churchill Square (officially "Sir Winston Churchill Square") is the main downtown square in Edmonton, Alberta, which plays host to a large number of festivals and events including: the Edmonton International Street Performers Festival, Edmonton Fashion Week, The Works Art & Design Festival, Taste of Edmonton, Cariwest, and Edmonton Pride.

Taste of Edmonton is an annual outdoor festival held in Edmonton, Alberta. In 2021, the festival will be held at Churchill Square (100 Street) as 2020 went on hiatus. The festival runs for 11 days, July 22nd – August 1st. Hours are 11:00–23:00 daily except for Aug. 1st, 11:00–21:00. Taste of Edmonton is the largest food and entertainment festival in Western Canada, welcoming more than 350,000 attendees together to sample the best local restaurants, chefs, food trucks, and alcoholic beverages - and to stay for an all-Canadian concert series. The festival was chosen as Edmonton's Favourite Festival in 2018 by PostMedia readers and a finalist for Tourism Event or Festival of the Year for the 2019 Alberta Tourism Awards. There was no festival in 2020.

Churchill station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta. It serves both the Capital Line and the Metro Line. It is an underground station located beneath Churchill Square and is a part of the Edmonton Pedway system. An at-grade surface platform is currently under construction above the existing station at Rue Hull (99 Street) and 102 Avenue, and is scheduled to open in 2022. The new platform will facilitate transfers between the Metro and Capital lines below grade, and the Valley Line and Festival Line at the surface level. By 2040 Churchill LRT Station is expected to be one of the major hubs of the Edmonton LRT system, with four out of the five lines currently approved by the City passing through the station.

The Edmonton International Street Performers Festival (sometimes known as StreetFest) is an annual, 10-day performance festival that takes place in mid-July at Sir Winston Churchill Square, in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The festival was founded in 1985 by Sheldon Wilner and Dick Finkel with the intention of bringing the art of street performance to Edmonton’s downtown region. Every year, the festival brings in performers from around the world, and gives an opportunity for local performers to showcase their talent. In 2014, the festival featured roughly 1500 performances, and was attended by 250,000 people.Over the years, StreetFest has hosted a wide variety of performers, such as famous high-wire artist Phillip Petite, Cirque du Soleil clown Michael Hancock, and a variety of other clowns, acrobats, jugglers and magicians. The festival is somewhat unique in that the majority of the income that the artists receive for their work during the festival comes not from the festival organizers, but from the goodwill of the audience. Hats are passed around after each performance, and audience members are encouraged, but not required, to tip the performer for their work.In addition to traditional outdoor shows, the festival is also known for its encouragement of artistic collaboration. The "Troupe de Jour" program brings select artists together every night during the festival for an original variety show that combines the unique talents of the performers involved. "Late Night Madness" is a festival-wide night of collaboration where individual artists are invited to work together to come up with their own show. "Be Your Own Busker" is an educational series aimed at teaching both children and adults some of the basics of street performance, like juggling and making balloon animals.No festival was held in 2020.

The Edmonton Public Library (EPL) is a publicly funded library system in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, available for use by any member of the public. Library cards are free to all Edmontonians; as part of its centennial in 2013, the Edmonton Public Library eliminated membership fees. University of Alberta and MacEwan University students receive free access through the L-Pass program.In 2014, more than 14.1 million visits were made to the Edmonton Public Library, either in physical or virtual form. 10.4 million items were borrowed, and 347,995 people participated in 13,532 library-run programs.

The Stanley A. Milner Library is the flagship branch of the Edmonton Public Library. It is located on the southern side of Sir Winston Churchill Square in the downtown core of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The main library is near walking distance to the City Hall, the Edmonton City Centre mall, the Francis Winspear Centre for Music, and the Citadel Theatre. In January 2017, the library closed its doors for a major renovation, as all but the basic structure was removed to be rebuilt with an architectural design similar to that of the Art Gallery of Alberta located a few blocks away. Its services were relocated to a temporary space on Jasper Avenue in Enterprise Square. The new Stanley A. Milner Library, along with the new Shelley Milner Children's Library opened on September 17, 2020. The building is directly connected to the underground pedway network and to Edmonton's LRT. A number of ETS bus routes also serve the library along Harbin Road (102 Avenue) and 100 Street. Underground parking, run by the city, is also available.The Stanley A. Milner Library is also a centre for assistive services. Specialized magnifiers, projection reading rooms, large print books, braille material, voice dictation stations, and specialized computers are available as part of the library's mission to provide information access to all.

Downtown Edmonton is the central business district of Edmonton, Alberta. Located at the geographical centre of the city, the downtown area is bounded by 109 Street to the west, 105 Avenue to the north, 97 Street to the east, 97 Avenue and Rossdale Road to the south, and the North Saskatchewan River to the southeast. Surrounding neighbourhoods include Oliver to the west, Queen Mary Park, Central McDougall and McCauley to the north, Boyle Street and Riverdale to the east, and Rossdale to the south. The residents of Downtown Edmonton are represented by the Downtown Edmonton Community League, established in 1999, which runs a community hall located at 100 Avenue and 103 Street.The Edmonton Oilers's home arena, Rogers Place, is located in the middle of downtown where it anchors the Ice District mixed-used development for sports and entertainment.

CBX-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 90.9 FM in Edmonton, Alberta. It broadcasts the programming of the CBC Music network. CBX-FM was launched on June 27, 1979. In 2004, CBC Edmonton operations moved into a new digital broadcast facility downtown, bringing all operations of Radio and TV, under one roof. The old TV facility on 75th Street had 70,000 square feet (6,500 m2), while the Radio building on 51st Ave. had 48,000 square feet (4,500 m2). The new combined facility has 38,700 total square feet. It is located at the Edmonton City Centre, on Winston Churchill Square. Its transmitter is located in Sherwood Park. As of February 28, 2021, CBX-FM is the 16th-most-listened-to radio station in the Edmonton market according to a PPM data report released by Numeris.

The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is an art museum in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The museum occupies a 8,000 square metres (86,000 sq ft) building at Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton. The museum building was originally designed by Donald G. Bittorf, and B. James Wensley, although portions of that structure were demolished or built over during a redevelopment of the building by Randall Stout. The art museum was established in 1924 as the Edmonton Museum of Arts. In 1956 the museum was renamed the Edmonton Art Gallery. The museum occupied a number of location from its establishment in 1924 to 1969. The museum was relocated to its present location and reopened to the public in 1969 at the Brutalist Arthur Blow Condell building. In 2005, the museum was renamed Art Gallery of Alberta. From 2007 to 2010, the art museum underwent a CA$88 million redevelopment of its building. The redeveloped building was reopened to the public on January 31, 2010. Its collection includes over 6,000 works, with a focus on art produced in Alberta, and other parts of western Canada. In addition to exhibiting its permanent collection, the museum also hosts travelling exhibitions and offers public education programs.

The Edmonton City Hall is the home of the municipal government of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Designed by Dub Architects, the building was completed in 1992. It was built to replace the former city hall designed by architects Kelvin Crawford Stanley and Maxwell Dewar in 1957, which had become outdated and expensive to operate.

The McLeod Building is a historic office building located in Downtown Edmonton. It was designated a Provincial Historic Resource on January 3, 1995 and a Municipal Historic Resource on May 22, 2001.

Edmonton City Centre is a shopping mall in the downtown core of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, across the street (west) from Churchill Square.
