The Ashbridge Estate is a historic estate in eastern Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The property was settled by the Ashbridge family, who were English Quakers who left Pennsylvania after the American Revolutionary War. In 1796, as United Empire Loyalists, the family were granted 600 acres (240 ha) of land on Lake Ontario east of the Don River, land which they had begun clearing two years earlier. The family constructed log cabins and frame homes on the shore of a bay, which was later named for them. The present home was built starting in 1854, with additions in 1900 and 1920. As the city of Toronto grew and encroached on the estate, the family gradually sold off their land, leaving only the current 2-acre (0.81 ha) property by the 1920s. The estate is located on Queen Street East near Greenwood Avenue in the Leslieville neighbourhood. In 1972, the family donated the estate to the Ontario Heritage Trust, although members of the family continued living in the home until 1997. The site was listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places in 2008. The Ashbridges are the only family in the history of Toronto to have continuously occupied land that they settled for more than 200 years.

Lakeview Secondary School (LSS, Lakeview), formerly East End High School is a Toronto District School Board public and vocational high school facility that was formerly operated as a secondary school by the Toronto Board of Education from 1967 until 1989 located in Felstad Drive in Toronto, Ontario, Canada serving the Board's Ward 15. Founded in 1967, the current building was built in 1972. The Lakeview property, as of January 2015, remains currently owned by the TDSB.

The Russell Carhouse, located at Queen Street East and Connaught Avenue just east of Greenwood Avenue in Toronto, is the Toronto Transit Commission's second oldest carhouse.Russell Carhouse used to store and maintain high-floor streetcars which have all been retired from service. It is currently used to store and dispatch a small number of low-floor streetcars. The carhouse has not yet been adapted to maintain low-floor streetcars, but the TTC plans to renovate the carhouse to do so.

The Centre for Arts, Media, and Technology at St. Patrick Catholic Secondary School (also referred as SPCSS, St. Pats, St. Patrick, St. Patrick C.S.S. or Pats) is a Roman Catholic high school located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as part of the Toronto Catholic District School Board. It is dedicated to Saint Patrick of Ireland and St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, the founder of the Congregation of Notre Dame. One of Toronto's oldest schools, St. Patrick's used to be an elementary school founded in 1852 until 1983 and turned into a secondary school which opened in 1986 on D'Arcy Street (now the Toronto District School Board's Heydon Park Secondary School). Since September 1989, St. Patrick had been moved from downtown Toronto into the former Lakeview Secondary School (also owned by the TDSB) in Toronto's east end. The motto for St. Patrick is "Amor Christi nos impellit" which translates to English as "The Love of Christ Impels Us".

Monarch Park Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located near the intersection of Hanson Street and Coxwell Avenue next to Monarch Park Collegiate. Monarch Park Stadium is used mostly for amateur soccer, baseball, and athletics principally by the Toronto District School Board. Built in 1964, the stadium replaced baseball fields that existed before the school was built in the 1940s.Its capacity is 5,000 with a grandstand located on the south side of the field. A track circles around the field. In early 2012, the TDSB entered into a long-term partnership agreement with Razor Management Inc. (RMI) to redevelop Monarch Park Stadium. RMI will be spending $5 million to upgrade the facilities, which will see an inflatable dome cover at the site for use each year from October to April. and surface replaced. The Ryerson Rams soccer team played its home games at the facility, but lost their permit to use the facility in 2015. The stadium was also used as the location for Broken Social Scene's "I'm Still Your Fag" music video. In May 2018, Toronto FC's United Soccer League side, Toronto FC II, played one game at Monarch Park. The weekday morning game on May 9 drew the largest attendance in Toronto FC II's history (4100). Monarch Park was one of three temporary homes for TFC II (along with BMO Field and Rochester's Marina Auto Stadium) during the first half of the 2018 season while the team awaited renovations on their new home at Lamport Stadium. A second game had been tentatively scheduled for Monarch Park - it was later moved twice, first to BMO Field and later to their opponents' home venue (Charlotte's Sportsplex at Matthews).

Monarch Park Collegiate (referred to MPC, Monarch Park or Monarch; formerly known as Monarch Park Secondary School) is a high school located near the intersection of Coxwell Avenue and Danforth Avenue in Toronto, Ontario, overseen by the Toronto Board of Education, which later merged into the Toronto District School Board in 1998.

Maple Leaf Forever Park is a municipal park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The park is named after the song "The Maple Leaf Forever" composed by Alexander Muir. The park was created in 1933 by public subscription to honour the composer, and is located in Leslieville south of Queen Street East between Leslie Street and Greenwood Avenue.

The Greenwood Yard (also known as the Greenwood Complex) is a rail yard with support buildings that service subway vehicles on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth of the Toronto subway. Greenwood is one of two subway yards on Line 2, the other being the much smaller Keele Subway Yard.

The Duke of York, known as the Duke of York Hotel for many years and now as Duke Live, is a historic structure in Leslieville, Toronto, Ontario. It is located at 1225 Queen Street East, at the corner of Queen Street and Leslie Avenue. The building site was originally known as "Uncle Tom's Cabin", presumably after the novel or Ontario site of the same name. A brick structure on the same lot, originally known as the Morin House, was constructed in 1870. The name later changed to the Duke of York Hotel.Originally known as "The Duke of York", the building served as an inn with a restaurant/pub on the main floor. The inn no longer operates, but the restaurant and bar is still in business. For many years a mural of John Wayne was painted on the wall of the first floor of the building's exterior. The original name of this first location is likely for the Duke of York at the time, Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany.

Riverdale Collegiate Institute (Riverdale CI, RCI, or Riverdale) is a semestered high school located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada owned and operated by the Toronto Board of Education until its amalgamation in 1998 into the Toronto District School Board.

Smalls Pond was a pond located near Queen Street East and Kingston Road in Toronto, Canada. Some accounts say it was twelve feet deep, others that it was twelve meters deep. While some accounts say it was a natural feature, Jane Fairburn, in "Along the Shore: Rediscovering Toronto's Waterfront Heritage", wrote that gentleman farmer Charles Coxwell Small, owner of 472 acres (191 hectares), dammed a creek than called Serpentine Creek, to form the dam, for the water-power for sawmills.In late-19th-century winters its ice was harvested and stored, in slabs, as its waters remained clean, when the nearby Don River had become polluted. Stored slabs of ice were used to keep food cool before artificial refrigeration had been invented. The farmland surrounding the lake, and the small creeks that fed it, were annexed into the growing city of Toronto around the turn of the 20th century. By 1909 those creeks had become polluted, and were buried and converted into sewers. In 1919, a 9-year-old boy drowned in the pond.In 1935, after the creeks that fed it had been diverted, the pond had become stagnant, and was drained and filled in.
