The Whitby Public Library is a public library that serves the town of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, with three branches. The library is governed through a ten-person library board appointed by the town, and operated by a staff of more than 80 full and part-time employees. As of 2016, there were over 1.4 million items circulated and the system had a Can$5,700,000 budget.

Saint Arsenije Sremac Serbian Orthodox Church (Serbian: Српска православна црква Светог Арсенија Сремца) is a Serbian Orthodox church located in Whitby, Ontario, Canada.It is the only church dedicated to Saint Arsenije of Srem, the second Archbishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church and a disciple of Saint Sava.

Trafalgar Castle School in Whitby, Ontario is an internationally known, independent day and boarding school for girls and young women in grades 4 through 12. Boarding at the school begins in grade 7. Founded in 1874 as "Ontario Ladies' College", Trafalgar Castle School is one of the oldest independent schools in Canada and the second-oldest girls' school in Ontario.

Henry Street High School is located in Whitby, Ontario, within the Durham District School Board. The school was originally known as "Whitby District High School"; the name was changed after the opening of Whitby's second high school, Anderson, in 1960.

Anderson Collegiate Vocational Institute (Anderson CVI, Anderson Collegiate, Anderson, or ACVI) is located in Whitby, Ontario within the Durham District School Board. Whitby GO Station is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network in Whitby, Ontario, Canada. It is a stop on the Lakeshore East line and was the eastern terminus of the dedicated GO Transit right-of-way until those tracks were extended to Oshawa in 1995. There are connections by GO Bus northward to Port Perry and Beaverton, and local Durham Region Transit routes within Whitby.

Whitby Junction is a historic railroad station, originally built at the foot of Byron Street in Whitby, Ontario. Under Canadian National the station was later known as Whitby, due to the closure of the central Whitby station between this station and Manilla Junction. The former Grand Trunk Railway station closed in 1969 and the building was first moved to the north-east corner of Victoria and Henry Streets for use as an art gallery and in 2004 moved across the road to its current location in Whitby Iroquois Park.

St. Matthew the Evangelist Catholic School (St. Matthew) is a coeducational, Catholic, elementary school in Whitby, Ontario, managed by the Durham Catholic District School Board. St. Matthew is located in Willowbrook Drive near Ormiston Public School. It was named after St. Matthew the Evangelist, one of the 12 Apostles Jesus chose. Today, St. Matthew serves students from Junior Kindergarten to 8th grade.St. Matthew the Evangelist School is a feeder school for Father Leo J. Austin Catholic Secondary School and All Saints Catholic Secondary School.

Donald A. Wilson Secondary School is a high school located in Whitby, Ontario, Canada. Opened in 2004, the school hosts students in grades 9-12 and offers a wide range of academic and extra-curricular activities. The school mascot is an alligator and the school colours are orange, blue, and silver. It is adjacent to All Saints Catholic Secondary School.

All Saints Catholic Secondary School is a secondary school located in Whitby, Ontario, Canada open for students in grades 7–12. It offers a broad range of academic programs including Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), Cooperative Education (Co-Op), Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM), Advanced Placement (AP), Head Start, Centre for Success/Reconnect, and Electronic learning. It is adjacent to Donald A Wilson Secondary School.

Pringle Creek is a small watercourse that drains into Lake Ontario in Whitby, Ontario. It drains 3,102.15 hectares (11.9775 sq mi). Groundwater discharge from the bluffs left from glacial Lake Iroquois feed the headwaters of Pringle Creek.On June 19, 2017, police and animal control officials were able to contain, tranquilize and safely relocate a black bear who had wandered into residential areas on Pringle Creek.
