Glengormley

Glengormley Integrated High School is a secondary school in the town of Newtownabbey in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It was opened in September 1971. It is a non-selective school accepting children from all academic backgrounds. The school is situated approximately 15 minutes from Belfast City in a large suburb of Belfast. The grounds are extensive with three main teaching buildings, gardens, greenhouse, tennis and basketball courts, running track, rugby and football pitches. A new sixth form centre has been added and also an indoor gym and sports hall. The school received specialist status as an ICT Academy. It has close links with local primary schools and encourages pupils to volunteer within the community via the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.

The Bland Mayfly was an early aircraft constructed in 1910 by Lilian E. Bland in Carnmoney in Ireland. It is credited as the first aeroplane to be designed and constructed by a woman.

Cullybackey High School is a secondary school in the village of Cullybackey, in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It was established in 1968.

Carnmoney (from Irish Carn Monaidh 'cairn of the bog') is the name of a townland (of 456 acres), electoral ward and a civil parish in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Carnmoney is within the urban area of Newtownabbey, in the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council area. It lies 7 miles (11 km) from Belfast city centre in the historic barony of Belfast Lower.Carnmoney is known throughout Belfast for its large graveyard. Carnmoney Cemetery sits on the slopes of Carnmoney Hill, a major landmark in the area, which also contains a woodland nature reserve. The poet Derek Mahon mentions Carnmoney Cemetery in his poem "My Wicked Uncle".

St Enda's G.A.C, Glengormley. is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Glengormley, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. They cater for gaelic football, hurling and camogie.

Mossley West railway station is located in the townland of Ballyhenry in the north of Newtownabbey, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, owned and operated by NI Railways, a subsidiary of Translink. In 2008, the station was refurbished as part of a £17 million investment package by NI Railways to improve access for disabled passengers and provide better lighting, signage, and seating. Whiteabbey is technically the next stop on the line, however, two services each way stop here in accordance with the current timetable. At other times, trains only call at Yorkgate prior to Lanyon Place, hence missing out Whiteabbey.

Ballyclare Junction railway station was on the Belfast and Ballymena Railway which ran from Belfast to Ballymena in Northern Ireland. Despite the name, the physical junction for the branch line to Ballyclare was located a short distance along the line in the Antrim direction, at Kingsbog Junction.

Belfast Zoological Gardens (also known as Bellevue Zoo) is a zoo in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is in a relatively secluded location on the northeastern slope of Cavehill, overlooking Belfast's Antrim Road. Opened in 1934, it is the second-oldest zoo in Ireland, after Dublin Zoo, which opened in 1831.Belfast Zoo is one of the top fee-paying visitor attractions in Northern Ireland, receiving more than 300,000 visitors a year. Located in north Belfast, the zoo's 55-acre (22 ha) site is home to more than 1,200 animals and 140 species. The majority of the animals in Belfast Zoo are in danger in their natural habitat. The zoo carries out important conservation work and takes part in over 90 European and international breeding programmes which help to ensure the survival of many species under threat. The zoo is a member of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA), the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).

Cave Hill or Cavehill is a rocky hill overlooking the city of Belfast, Northern Ireland,with a height of 368 metres (1,207 ft). It is marked by basalt cliffs and caves, and its distinguishing feature is 'Napoleon's Nose', a tall cliff resembling the profile of the emperor Napoleon. On top of this are the remains of an ancient promontory fort called McArt's Fort. Cavehill was also historically called 'Ben Madigan' (from Irish: Beann Mhadagáin, "Madagán’s peak"), after a king of Ulster called Madagán.It forms part of the Belfast Hills and marks the southeastern edge of the Antrim Plateau. All of Belfast can be seen from its peak, as can the Isle of Man and Scotland on clear days. Like Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh, it lies just a few miles from the centre of a major city. Cave Hill is thought to be the inspiration for Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels. Swift imagined that Cave Hill resembled the shape of a sleeping giant safeguarding the city.
