The 2009 Bank of Ireland robbery was a large robbery of cash from the College Green cash centre of the Bank of Ireland in Dublin, Ireland, on 27 February 2009. It was the largest bank robbery in the Republic of Ireland's history. Criminals engaged in the tiger kidnapping of a junior bank employee, 24-year-old Shane Travers, and forced him to remove €7.6 million (US$9 million) in cash from the bank as his girlfriend and two others were held hostage.Ireland's Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Dermot Ahern, criticised the bank for its failure to follow what he termed "established protocols" during the robbery, as the Irish police force, the Garda Síochána, was not informed of the incident until the money had been removed from the bank. A manhunt was under way for the perpetrators, with seven people being arrested and €1.8 million of the stolen cash located, scattered across Dublin, on 28 February.

College Green (Irish: Faiche an Choláiste) is a three-sided plaza in the centre of Dublin, Ireland. On its northern side is the Bank of Ireland building, which until 1800 was Ireland's Parliament House. To its east stands Trinity College Dublin. To its south stands a series of 19th-century buildings that are mostly banks. Streets leading onto College Green are Dame Street to the west, Grafton Street to the south, and Westmoreland Street to the north. College Green has been used as an assembly point for major political rallies. In the mid-1990s, United States President Bill Clinton addressed a crowd during his visit to Ireland. President Barack Obama also spoke at the site in a major address during his visit in May 2011.

Foster Place is a Georgian street in Dublin, Ireland laid out by the Wide Streets Commissioners in the 1780s to coincide with the new western wing and extension of Parliament House and a new entrance for the House of Commons. It replaced a narrow lane named Turnstile Alley which had been in the same location and connected at the rear of Parliament house to Parliament Row and ultimately to Fleet Street. The lane was also intersected to its west by Blackmore Yard which connected with Anglesea Street and extended to Cope Street. This was later blocked off entirely in the early 19th century. As of 2025, the street is a cul-de-sac and connects only with Dame Street and College Green.

Fleet Street (Irish: Sráid na Toinne) is a street on the southside of Dublin, Ireland. Located in the Dublin 2 area, Fleet Street runs eastwards, parallel to the River Liffey, through Temple Bar, across Westmoreland Street to D'Olier Street.

M.J. O'Neill's is a bar and restaurant in Dublin, Ireland. It occupies 2 Suffolk Street and adjacent buildings, continuing round the corner into Church Lane. From 1875 it was owned by the Hogan Brothers, until M.J. O’Neill bought and renamed the premises in 1927. The part in Church Lane was the site of a printing house, where William Butler published The Volunteers Journal and Irish Herald in 1783, and in 1789 Arthur O’Connor published The Press, supporting Wolfe Tone’s republican views. The corner structure is a four-storey, vaguely of the Arts and Crafts Movement, red-brick and early twentieth century, with Tudor-style projecting bay windows. There is a decorated iron three-dials clock on the Suffolk Street frontage. The building is protected and in a conservation area. The original structure was divided into definite areas: a “cocktail bar” in the corner for the gentry, a public bar off Suffolk Street, and a back bar. The next-door premises in Church Lane have been added, as a carvery, and the interior has been opened up. A small snug, immediately inside the Church Lane entrance, was a venue for the “Fabians” of the early 1960s and for later left-wing students from Trinity College, Dublin.

Chichester House or Carew's House was a building in College Green (formerly Hoggen Green), Dublin, Ireland, used in the 17th century to house the Parliament of Ireland. Originally built to be a hospital, it was never used as such.At one time, the building had been owned by Sir George Carew, President of Munster and Lord High Treasurer of Ireland. The house itself was partially built on the site of the Priory of All Hallows which had earlier been dissolved by King Henry VIII. Carew's House was later purchased by Sir Arthur Chichester and renamed Chichester House. Some sources state that the house was then built by Chichester in the early 17th century. It was used as a temporary home of the Kingdom of Ireland's law courts during the Michaelmas law term in 1605. Documents facilitating the Plantation of Ulster were signed in the house on 16 November 1612. Following his death in 1625, the house passed to his brother Edward Chichester, 1st Viscount Chichester who in turn sold it to Sir Edward Smyth. It was Smyth who soon after leased the property to Edward Parry as his home. On the 26th of April 1661, Sir Paul Davys, clerk of the council, leased the great hall from the merchant, Richard White. Later, on the 8th of May 1661, the first parliament convened in Ireland after the Stuart Restoration was held at the house. In 1673 it was assigned as the home of the parliament by Charles II. In 1675, John Parry had made a lease to Sir Henry Forde, secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland for a term of 99 years, for the use of the two houses of parliament. From its opening it was in a bad state of repair and by 1723 a committee had been appointed to report on the condition and estimate the cost of a replacement building on the site.Following a meeting held in 1728 it was decided that the site would be used for a replacement building, Parliament House, designed by Sir Edward Lovett Pearce, in 1729.

Westmoreland Street is a street on the Southside of Dublin. It is currently a one-way street. It carries a segment of the R138 road for northbound traffic; nearby D'Olier Street carries southbound traffic of that segment.

The owners of the furrier's shop J. M. Barnardo & Son in Dublin, Ireland, founded in 1812, already claimed the title of "oldest family of furriers in the world" in 1994.

St Andrew's Church is a former parish church of the Church of Ireland that is located in St Andrew's Street, Dublin, Ireland. After ceasing to be a church, it housed the main Dublin tourist office of Fáilte Ireland until 2014, and later underwent redevelopment with a view to reopening as a food hall. Vanessa, former pupil of Dean Swift, is buried at this church.

The Euronext Dublin lists debt and fund securities and is used as a European gateway exchange for companies seeking to access investors in Europe and beyond. With over 35,000 securities listed on its markets, the exchange is used by over 4,000 issuers from more than 85 countries to raise funds and access international investors.A study by Indecon (international economic consultants) published in 2014 on the Irish Stock Exchange found that having a local stock market and securities industry directly supports 2,100 jobs in Ireland and is worth €207 million each year to the Irish economy. It also found that having a domestic securities industry centred on the Irish Stock Exchange generates €207 million in estimated direct economic impact (measured in Gross Value Added or GDP) and €230 million in direct tax for the Irish exchequer (including stamp duty on trading in Irish shares). The exchange is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland under the Markets in Financial Instruments Regulations (MiFID) and is a member of the World Federation of Exchanges and the Federation of European Stock Exchanges.

Anglesea Street is a Georgian street in the Temple Bar area of south Dublin, Ireland.

West of Grafton Street Ltd. or West Jewellers was a jewellery store which was last located on 33 Grafton Street in Dublin, Ireland before it closed in 2010. It was considered the oldest European jewellery store and one of the oldest companies in Ireland.
