Donskoy Monastery

Count Alexander Petrovich Tormasov (Russian: Граф Алекса́ндр Петро́вич Торма́сов; 22 August 1752 – 25 November 1819) was a Russian cavalry general prominent during the Napoleonic Wars.

The New Donskoy Cemetery (Новое Донское кладбище) is a 20th-century necropolis sprawling to the south from the Donskoy Monastery in the south-west of Central Moscow. It has been closed for new burials since the 1980s.

Moscow State Textile Institute (formerly A. N. Kosygin Moscow State Textile University) was formed in 1919. It is one of the oldest and institutes for higher studies in textiles in Russia.

Communal House of the Textile Institute (also known simply as Nikolaev's House) is a constructivist architecture landmark located in the Donskoy District of Moscow, Russia. The building, designed by Ivan Nikolaev to accommodate 2000 students, was erected in 1929-1931 and functioned as a student dormitory until 1996. As of August 2008, parts of the building were leased as office space, while the main residential block was abandoned and gutted inside; the current owner, Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, plans to rehabilitate the dilapidated structure into a modern campus.

Shabolovskaya (Russian: Шаболовская, also known as Шаболовка (English: Shabolovka street)) is a station on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line of the Moscow Metro. Though the station itself was built along with the rest of the Kaluzhskaya Line in 1962, problems with the escalator shaft postponed its opening until November 6, 1980. During the 18 intervening years the appearance of the platform was modernized, so it does not appear similar to the other 1960s stations on the line. Shabolovskaya has pylons punctuated on all four faces by projecting piers and faced with white marble. The piers on the transverse faces of the pylons extend upward into the vaulted ceiling. The outer walls are clad in incongruously dark corrugated metal, which contrasts sharply with the bright white of the ceiling and pylons. At the end of the platform is a backlit stained glass panel on the theme of radio and television broadcasting. The station was designed by I.G. Petukhova, V.P. Kachurinets, N.I. Demchinsky, and Yu.A. Kolesnikova. Shabolovskaya's entrance vestibule is on Shabolovka street south of the intersection with Academicial Petrovsky street.

Shabolovka (Russian: Ша́боловка) is a street in the south of Moscow's city centre (located in Yakimanka, Donskoy, and Danilovsky districts), known since the middle of the 18th century. Notable features on the street includef the Shukhov Tower (designed by Vladimir Shukhov in 1919, and built between 1920 and 1922), and the attached Broadcasting Centre in dom 37. Shabolovka Street runs from Kaluzhky Square, stretching from Leninsky Prospekt (until 1957 named Kaluzhskaya Street) to Mytny Ulitsta, and finishing at the crossroads Supukhovsky Val.

Shabolovka Telecenter (Russian: Шаболовский телецентр) is a television and radio broadcasting center on Shabolovka Street in Moscow, at near of the Shukhov Tower. Until the opening of the Ostankino Technical Center in 1967, it was the main transmitting television center of the USSR. From the very beginning of television broadcasting in Moscow, viewers remembered the address of the television center, where bags of letters came in every day: Moscow, Shabolovka Street, 53 (the original address of the TV center). On March 9, 1937, the TV center carried out the country's first experimental transmission of electronic television on the air. Since the end of 1937, the center began to conduct regular experimental television broadcasts on the system of electronic television. In 1991, the technical complex on Shabolovka was transferred to All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK). All VGTRK TV channels are broadcast from here, including Russia-1, Russia-K and Russia-24.

The Shukhov Radio Tower (Russian: Шуховская башня), also known as the Shabolovka Tower (Шаболовская башня), is a broadcasting tower deriving from the Russian avant-garde in Moscow designed by Vladimir Shukhov. The 160-metre-high (520 ft) free-standing steel diagrid structure was built between 1920 and 1922, during the Russian Civil War.

Fersman Mineralogical Museum (Russian: Минералогический музей им. А. Е. Ферсмана) is one of the largest mineral museums of the world, located in Moscow, Russia. Its collections include more than 135,000 items. Among them natural crystals, geodes, druses and other kinds of mineral treasures. The museum was named after Alexander Fersman.

The Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, also referred to simply as The Garage Museum, is a privately funded art gallery in Moscow. It was founded by Dasha Zhukova and Roman Abramovich as the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in 2008 and was renamed on 1 May 2014. Since June 2015, it has been housed in a building designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas.As well as providing permanent collections and changing exhibitions, the museum also operates as a research centre. It has archives relating to Russian contemporary art from the 1950s. It also runs educational programmes and publishes material relating to current developments in Russian and international art and culture.

Moscow State Mining University (Московский государственный горный университет in Russia) is a Russian institute of higher education that prepares mining engineers.

Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure (Russian: Центральный парк культуры и отдыха (ЦПКиО) имени Горького, tr. Tsentralny park kultury i otdykha imeni Gorkogo, IPA: [tsɨnˈtralʲnɨj ˈpark kʊlʲˈturɨ i ˈodːɨxə ˈimʲɪnʲɪ ˈɡorʲkəvɐ]) is a central park in Moscow, named after Maxim Gorky. In August 2018, the Park's 90th anniversary was celebrated.
