Westover, Maryland

St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church was a historic Methodist Episcopal church located at Westover, Somerset County, Maryland. It was a T-shaped frame Gothic church building erected around 1883. Its architecture reflects the influence of mail order plans promulgated in the late 19th century by the Methodist Church Board of Church Extension and corresponds to Church Plan No. 19A, Catalogue of Architectural Plans for Churches and Parsonages. It features a two-story tower with an open belfry. The church was torn down in March 2014. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

William T. Tull House, also known as E.D. Long House, is a historic home located at Westover, Somerset County, Maryland. It is a two-story, three-bay, center passage/double-pile plan frame dwelling, erected around 1860. Its exterior features are associated with the Greek Revival and Italianate styles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Cedar Hill, also known as Long Farm, is a historic home located at Westover, Somerset County, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story T-shaped frame dwelling, on a brick foundation. The main section was erected in 1793, and followed a modified hall / parlor plan. Also on the property are an 1880 bi-level hay-and-horse barn with a long shed addition for dairy stalls, a 19th-century granary, a late-19th-century corn crib, a rusticated concrete block well house, and a rusticated concrete dairy.Cedar Hill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Arlington is a historic home located at Westover, Somerset County, Maryland, and is located at the end of James Ring Road on Maryland Route 361. It is a prominent mid-18th-century Flemish bond brick dwelling. It was built around 1750 by Ephraim Wilson, the two-story, center hall, single-pile house is highlighted by glazed checkerboard brick patterns on each wall. It features a Federal period porch enriched with a cornice of paired modillion blocks and original engaged Tuscan columns against the back wall.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Eastern Correctional Institution (ECI) is a medium-security state prison for men located in Westover, Somerset County, Maryland, owned and operated by the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. Eastern has a minimum-security Annex, completed in 1993, and housing some 560 inmates. The total capacity of the minimum- and medium-security sections is around 3,400. With an actual population of about 3,300, this is Maryland's largest prison.The facility is adjacent to the Somerset County Detention Center. In October 2016, federal authorities indicted eighty people as part of a scheme to smuggle drugs, telephones and pornography into the facility. Also while there the federal authorities investigated 6 different murders within the facility one of them resulting in one inmate being partially decapitated. The investigation led to the charge and conviction of an inmate Patrick Simpson#3378314 who was also under suspicion for 2 previous murders and for smuggling large amounts of illicit drugs and tobacco. Simpson subsequently pleaded out to assault with a deadly weapon and received an additional 2 years on his sentence to be served before his release.

The Beauchamp House, also known as Washburn House or Long Farm, is a historic home located at Westover, Somerset County, Maryland, United States. It is a 1+1⁄2-story brick-ended hall / parlor frame house standing at the head of the Annemessex River. The main house was built in two stages, beginning with a hall-plan house, built about 1710–1730. During the second half of the 18th century, the structure was enlarged by the addition of two downstairs rooms, which were later consolidated into one.The Beauchamp House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

It was built by Nehemiah King II between 1785 and 1796. Kingston Hall is a historic home located at Kingston, Somerset County, Maryland. Located along the Big Annemessex River, it is a Georgian style dwelling of two stories plus an attic, three bays wide by two deep, connected by a one-story brick hyphen to a two-story-plus-loft brick kitchen wing. Also on the property is the brick, circular ice house. The interior of the house features corner fireplaces. Interior woodwork mouldings are in a transitional style, bridging late Georgian and Federal styles.

It has two principal sections: a 19th-century, two-story plus attic clapboard section whose roof ridge runs east to west, and a first-quarter-18th-century 1+1⁄2-story brick section with its ridge running north to south.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

George Maddox Farm, also known as Cottage Hall Farm or Albert Sudler Farm, is a historic farm complex located at Manokin, Somerset County, Maryland. It is an intact complex of 15 agricultural buildings and structures dating from about 1800 through the early 20th century. The complex includes six pre-Civil War structures including a frame granary, two dairies, a log smokehouse, another (ruined) log outbuilding, and a frame kitchen/quarter. Seven post-war structures include a barn, two garages, tenant house, privy, well house, and chicken house. The main house is a 2+1⁄2-story irregular-plan Queen Anne house, roughly cruciform in plan. An early-19th-century single-story kitchen extends from the back of the house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
