The Third River, also known as the Yantecaw River (possibly from Munsee yu wandakw, "here this way"), is the third (upstream) main tributary of the Passaic River in Passaic and Essex Counties, New Jersey in the United States. The river originates in the Great Notch Reservoir in Woodland Park, New Jersey. It then runs through the towns of Little Falls, Clifton and Montclair. It then goes into Clifton a second time, runs through Bloomfield, through the grounds of the Upper Montclair Country Club, and then the Glen Ridge Country Club. After this, it runs by Bloomfield's North Middle School where it forms Clarks Pond which is used by the school's science classes to help teach biology. It then passes through Bloomfield's Brookside Park which was the location of a mill in the Colonial Period. It also passes next to Foley Field which is used by the Bloomfield High School football team and the town's little league baseball teams. The river then runs through multiple parks in the town of Nutley in Essex County. It enters the Passaic River in Clifton just north of the border with Nutley.

The Oakes Estate is located in Bloomfield, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The building, designed by Charles Granville Jones was built in 1895, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 6, 1981.

Rowe Street is an abandoned train station in the town of Bloomfield, New Jersey. The station was a former stop on the Boonton Line, which ran from Hoboken Terminal to Hackettstown, reaching Rowe Street in Bloomfield. The station was constructed by the Erie Railroad in 1955 as a replacement for the Orchard Street station and the former Bloomfield station (at Walnut Street), which was eliminated for construction of the Garden State Parkway. Construction of the new depot began on April 1, 1955 of a 17 by 45 feet (5.2 m × 13.7 m) single-story brick building. The construction of the depot and the 26-space parking lot cost $23,000 (1955 USD).Service to Rowe Street lasted for 47 years, until the construction of the Montclair Connection was completed by New Jersey Transit, who had taken over service in 1983. Rowe Street, along with nearby Benson Street (in Glen Ridge) and Arlington (in Kearny), were closed on October 20, 2002 for the new Montclair-Boonton Line.

Bloomfield Green Historic District is a historic district located in Bloomfield, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 20, 1978.

The Bloomfield Public Schools are a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade from Bloomfield, in Essex County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of 11 schools, had an enrollment of 6,191 students and 538.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.5:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

Bloomfield High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades in Bloomfield, in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Bloomfield Public Schools. The school was established in 1871, with its current facility completed in 1911. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,986 students and 161.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.3:1. There were 649 students (32.7% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 146 (7.4% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Bloomfield is a township in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 53,105, an increase of 5,790 (+12.2%) from the 2010 census count of 47,315, which in turn reflected a decline of 368 (-0.8%) from the 47,683 counted in the 2000 census. It surrounds the Bloomfield Green Historic District.

Bloomfield College of Montclair State University is a public college in Bloomfield, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is chartered by the State of New Jersey and accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The school became part of Montclair State University starting in July 2023, before which it had been a private college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) through the Synod of the Northeast.

Bloomfield Cemetery, designated a New Jersey Historic Site, is located at 383 Belleville Avenue, Bloomfield in Essex County, New Jersey. Bloomfield Cemetery is one of New Jersey’s most significant rural cemeteries, and the only such landscape to be designed by Alexander Jackson Davis, one of America’s most important Victorian architects. Like nearby Mount Pleasant Cemetery (in Newark), it contains the graves of numerous individuals, families and social groups that were important to the history of Essex County and New Jersey as a whole. Parts of the landscape are recognizable as examples of picturesque cemetery design, and many 19th century markers evince characteristics of funerary art common during the Rural Cemetery Movement (c. 1840–1880).

The Gateway Region is the primary urbanized area of the northeastern section of New Jersey. It is anchored by Newark, the state's most populous city. It is part of the New York metropolitan area. The area encompasses Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, Union and Middlesex counties. It is the most urban part of the state, with a population of more than four million, and is home to most of its larger cities, though much housing was originally developed as suburbs of neighbouring New York City. It is home to Ellis Island, the "gateway" through which many immigrants entered the United States, many of whom chose to stay in the region, which continues to be the port of entry and first home to many born abroad, making it one of the most ethnically diverse of the nation. It may also be the most socio-economically diverse, with some of the biggest pockets of poverty and most exclusive of suburbs in the state.The designation Gateway Region has not caught on in local parlance, as the topography and self-identification of the residents tend not to correspond to the collective name. The terms North Jersey and Central Jersey are used in describing parts of the Gateway. The name may have been taken from the 1960s Newark nickname Gateway City after the newly developed Gateway Center downtown. Amtrak's high-speed rail project throughout the region is called Gateway. It is one of six tourism regions established by the New Jersey State Department of Tourism, the others being the Greater Atlantic City Region, the Southern Shore Region, the Delaware River Region, the Shore Region and the Skylands Region. The Gateway National Recreation Area, though not located inside the Gateway Region, is nearby.

Bloomfield Tech High School (also Essex County Bloomfield Tech or Bloomfield Tech) is a regional public high school located in Bloomfield, that offered occupational and academic instruction for students in Essex County, New Jersey, United States, as part of the Essex County Vocational Technical Schools. The school was also home to the first Green Energy Academy in a high school setting, which opened in 2009. The district offered adult programs in the evening at Bloomfield Tech. As of the 2016-17 school year, the school had an enrollment of 483 students and 40.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.9:1. There were 296 students (61.3% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 86 (17.8% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.At the end of the 2017-18 school year, Bloomfield Tech High School closed along with North 13th Street Tech and has been replaced by the newly constructed Donald M. Payne Sr. School of Technology in Newark. The students and staff of West Caldwell Tech used the former Bloomfield Tech facility while the West Caldwell school building was being renovated. Officials celebrated the official reopening of the renovated West Caldwell Tech with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in October 2021.
