Éire Óg-Corrachoill (Irish pronunciation: [ˈeːɾʲə ˈoːɡ ˈkɔɾˠəxəl̠ʲ]; "Young Ireland-Prosperous") is a hurling club based in the parish of Caragh in County Kildare. The parish of Caragh includes the village of Caragh itself, surrounding townlands and Prosperous village which is situated about 3 km north-west from the village. The club is the result of an amalgamation which occurred in 1994 between Éire Óg of Caragh and Corra Choill of Prosperous. The first record of any kind of success in the Caragh parish area involves the Clongorey Campaigners. RIC records from 1890 show that Clongorey Campaigners had 38 members with Dan Kelly, John Murphy, Pat Fullam and James Kelly listed as officers. Clongorey reached the Senior Hurling Championship final in 1891 and but were defeated by Maynooth. Their home ground is in donore just opposite the motor racing circuit Mondello Park.

Caragh or Carragh (Irish: Ceárach) is a village in County Kildare, Ireland. It is located on the R409 regional road between the River Liffey and the Grand Canal and is located 6.1 km north-west of Naas. The village is also 7.9 km from Clane and 10.6 km from Newbridge. Caragh is also the name of the parish that includes the village itself, surrounding townlands, and the village of Prosperous, about 3 km northwest of Caragh.

Stickens is a townland in the Roman Catholic parish of Caragh in County Kildare, Ireland. It is part of the Donore Electoral Division. Stickens is located a quarter of a mile past the village of Caragh when travelling north-west on the R409. The townland is situated to the left of the road, and is accessed by a cul de sac which is entered onto by taking the first left turn having travelled past the church in Caragh village. On some historical records the spelling "Stickins" appears; however, this version is infrequently used. There is debate regarding the origin of the name of the townland. One possible source is the old English word "stoc" which means wooden defence.

Prosperous (Irish: An Chorrchoill, meaning 'the smooth forest') is a town in north County Kildare, Ireland. It is within the townland of Curryhills, at the junction of the R403 and R408 regional roads, about 40 km (25 mi) from Dublin. Founded in the late 18th century, its 2022 population was 2,413, making it the 15th largest town in County Kildare.

Caragh GFC, Prosperous is a Gaelic football club in Prosperous, County Kildare, Ireland, winner of three county senior football championships and the only club to play in five successive county finals, club of the year 1978 and home club of Larry Stanley, All Ireland medalist in 1919, Olympic athlete in 1924, first winner of the All-Time All-Star award for Gaelic Football and a member of the Kildare team of the millennium. Two of Kildare's winning All Ireland captains came from the club, Larry Stanley and Mick Buckley. Mick's grandson Niall played on the 1998 Kildare All Ireland team. Another county senior football title was lost on objection over a player that was "on the run" during the Civil War. Caragh and Raheens share a parish and while the Raheens grounds are in Caragh village, the Caragh grounds are in Prosperous.

The Battle of Prosperous was a military engagement between British Crown forces and United Irishmen rebels during the Irish Rebellion of 1798 in the town of Prosperous, County Kildare. Prosperous was founded by Sir Robert Brooke in 1780 as a village for processing cotton produced in the Americas. When a rebellion spearheaded by the United Irishmen broke out against British rule in Ireland, rebel forces led by John Esmonde made plans to capture Prosperous. Esmonde had 200 rebels under his command, while Prosperous was garrisoned by elements of the Royal Cork City Militia under the command of Captain Richard Swayne reinforced by detachments of a Welsh mounted fencible regiment, the Ancient British Regiment of Fencible Cavalry Dragoons (also known as the Ancient Britons), numbering 150 men in all.On 24 May 1798, Esmonde led his forces to attack Prosperous. Their entry was preceded by the infiltration of a small rebel vanguard, who with the possible help of female sympathisers residing in Prosperous, scaled the walls of the town's barracks, killed the sentries and opened the town gates. The barracks were quickly surrounded and attacked by the rebels who repulsed an attempt by the garrison to break out; "Swayne himself was surprised in bed, shot and piked to death and his body burned in a tar barrel." The remainder of the garrison were trapped in the upper floors of the barracks which was set on fire by the rebels, causing them to jump in desperation onto the ground below, where they were summarily executed with pikes. While the rebels suffered no known casualties, c. 40 members of the garrison were killed in the battle.10 members of the garrison, all belonging to the Ancient Britons, managed to escape from Prosperous to Dunlavin, County Wicklow, where they participated in the Dunlavin Green executions on 26 May. Esmonde was later captured by Crown forces and brought to Dublin for trial. As he had previously enlisted at the rank of lieutenant in the Clane Yeomanry, Esmonde was court-martialled on 13 June and found guilty of being a deserter. Esmonde was executed by hanging on 14 June at on Carlisle Bridge with his coat being worn reversed to indicate that he was convicted of desertion. Prosperous remained under the control of the United Irishmen until 19 June, when a detachment of the 5th Dragoon Guards under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Stewart recaptured the town.: 124 

Raheens is a Gaelic football club based in Caragh, County Kildare, Ireland, winner of the Leinster senior club championship in 1981, 10 county senior football championships, first winners of the Kildare club of the year in 1973 and winners again in 1976. The separate hurling club, formerly known as Éire Óg, has now amalgamated to become Éire Óg-Corrachoill.

The Ballynafagh Bog (Irish: Portach Baile na Faiche) Special Area of Conservation or SAC is a Natura 2000 site in County Kildare, close to the town of Prosperous in County Kildare, Ireland. The three qualifying interests by which this site is protected as an SAC are the presence of active raised bog, of degraded raised bogs still capable of natural regeneration, and of depressions on peat substrates of the Rhynchosporion.

Kfm is an Irish radio station based in Naas, serving County Kildare, Ireland.Kfm broadcasts on 97.6fm and 97.3fm to all parts of county Kildare 24 hours a day from the state-of-the-art Kfm Broadcast Centre, Newhall, Naas, County Kildare and around the world on its website and iPhone and Android apps. It began broadcasting in 2004, having won a ten-year franchise for the county from the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland. Kildare had previously been part of a combined franchise with County Carlow and was served by CKR FM, who did not get their licence renewed. The station, with a contemporary format, caters for an audience from 15+ upwards. In January 2014, Kfm was successful in the renewal of its broadcast licence by the BAI for another 10-year term. Kfm transmitters are based on Slive Thuile, County Dublin - to serve the north of Kildare on 97.6Fm and in Rossmore, County Laois to serve the south of the county on 97.3FM. Kfm's broadcast area is the most station saturated in Ireland, primarily due to the close proximity to Dublin City. Despite the intense competition, for the period from April 2013 to March 2014, Kfm was the most listened to radio station across the week in County Kildare.The station has been nominated for a number of PPI awards and in 2011 won the FAI's Communications Award (Radio). The company CEO includes Clem Ryan, Paul Power (Program director), Bertie McDermott (Sales manager), and Ciara Plunkett (News editor). In November 2019, the ownership changed. Kfm was bought outright by existing director shareholders CEO Clem Ryan and Seán Ashmore. A number of existing shareholders, including David Mongey of Mongey Communications and Liam Ross of the golf buggy supply firm The Buggyman, decided to exit the group. Ashmore is a founding member of Kfm and is the majority shareholder of Wicklow's East Coast FM, as well as a significant shareholder in Dublin's Sunshine 106.8. He is CEO of multi-city radio station Classic Hits and is a director of Spirit Radio.

Scoil Mhuire is an Irish co-educational post-primary school in Clane, County Kildare. It owned by the Irish government and controlled by a board of management with ten members: two parents, two teachers, and six representatives from the trustees who are Kildare V.E.C. and the Presentation Sisters. The Presentation Sisters founded the secondary school, which was changed to community school status in 1983 when the school moved into the present building. They have completed an extension and sports hall to the school. The school is on the western outskirts of Clane, off the Prosperous Road (the R403). On 8 April 2016 enrollment was over 1000 students (with a roughly 50:50 ratio of boys and girls, aged 12 to 18) and a teaching staff of more than 70. The school operates the Transition Year, the Leaving Cert Applied and the Leaving Cert Vocational Programmes. Students also pursue programmes in physical education and religious studies. Students are encouraged to involve themselves in extracurricular activities, both indoor and outdoor. Adult education is promoted at Scoil Mhuire, which is one of the largest adult education schools in the country.
