The Little Egg Harbor Friends Meeting House is a historic Quaker meetinghouse located at 21 E. Main Street in the borough of Tuckerton in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. The meetinghouse was built in 1863. It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS). The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 9, 2002, for its significance in architecture and religion. Little Egg Harbor Meeting is part of Burlington Quarterly Meeting which is part of the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. Friends continue to meet at Little Egg Harbor Meeting on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Little Egg Harbor Friends Meeting House shares its property with the Friends Burial Ground, which includes graves from the Parker, Pharo, and Ridgeway families.

The Tuckerton Seaport is a working maritime village and museum located in Tuckerton, a borough situated on the Jersey Shore, within Ocean County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The 40-acre (160,000 m2) site, which opened in May 2000, features 17 historic and recreated buildings connected by a boardwalk, a maritime forest and wetlands nature trail. The seaport, which is a member of the Council of American Maritime Museums, celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2010.

Bartlett-Rockhill House, also known as the Sea Captain's House, is located in the village of Tuckerton Seaport on Main Street in Tuckerton in Ocean County, New Jersey near Baymen's Museum.The house was constructed circa 1855 for Edmund Bartlett and was later owned by the sea captain, Capt. Zebedee W. Rockhill. It was purchased by Bartlett's nephew, J. Henry Bartlett's, in 1910, who lived there until 1945. The house combines of late Federal and early Victorian styles, with additions and alterations made to the house up until the 1930s. Now owned by the museum, the house is used for temporary storage, occasional events Victorian-era interpretation.The building was listed as Bartlett-Rockhill-Bartlett House the on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places on December 12, 2012 and the National Register of Historic Places on January 20, 2012.

The Andrews-Bartlett Homestead is located in the village of Tuckerton Seaport on Main Street in Tuckerton in Ocean County, New Jersey near the Baymen's Museum. The original section of the house was built c. 1699 and is believed to be the oldest home in Ocean County, New Jersey. Mordecae Andrews built the original two-room home in 1699. Nathan Bartlett bought the house in 1824 and enlarged the entire structure, encompassing the original portion in the center and actually completely surrounding it.Partial funding for restoration of the building was in place as of 2017. Some repairs were made in 2019.

Tuckerton is a borough situated on the Jersey Shore, within Ocean County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 3,577, its highest decennial count ever and an increase of 230 (+6.9%) from the 3,347 recorded at the 2010 census, which in turn had reflected a decline of 170 (−4.8%) from the 3,517 counted in the 2000 census.Tuckerton was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 18, 1901, from portions of Little Egg Harbor Township.The borough is surrounded by Little Egg Harbor Township, but is politically independent. Because Tuckerton and Little Egg Harbor share the same 08087 ZIP code and Little Egg Harbor has no true "downtown" area, many refer to Little Egg Harbor and surrounding suburbs as "Tuckerton". Tuckerton is home to the Tuckerton Seaport, a working maritime museum and village.

The Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve, located in southeastern New Jersey, encompasses over 110,000 acres (450 km2) of terrestrial, wetland and aquatic habitats within the Mullica River-Great Bay Ecosystem. A wide range of habitats includes the pinelands, lowland swamps, freshwater marshes, salt and freshwater tidal marshes, barrier islands (sandy beaches and dune habitats), shallow bays and the coastal ocean. Little more than one percent of this reserve has been subject to human development. The area is one of the least disturbed estuaries in the densely populated urban corridor of the northeastern United States. On October 20, 1997, the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve (JC NERR) was dedicated in honor of Jacques Cousteau. The JC NERR is one of 26 National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) created to promote responsible use and management of our nation's estuaries. Estuaries, where the rivers meet the sea, are the wide lower course of a river where its current is met by the tides. This mix of fresh and salt water creates a unique and very productive ecosystem vital to life both on land and in the sea. The mission of the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve is to improve management of important estuarine resources in the Mullica River-Great Bay watershed through a program combining scientific research, education, and stewardship. JC NERR conducts research on the physical, chemical and biological components of the site estuaries and neighboring watersheds. The JC NERR offers a variety of professional development programs for teachers highlighting the unique coastal resources of New Jersey for the K-12 classroom. It also offers training programs, resources and outreach materials for New Jersey’s Coastal Management Community. The "Life on the Edge" exhibit housed at the Tuckerton Seaport is a virtual walk from the headwaters of the Mullica River, through the Pinelands, into the marsh ecosystem in Great Bay and then finally out into the open ocean. Visitors learn about the biology, ecology, and importance of estuarine habitats. Properties within the Reserve are public owned by various state and Federal entities. The Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is the managing partner of JC NERR. Other agency partners include the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, The Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, Stockton University, the Pinelands Commission, The Tuckerton Seaport and The Cooperative Institute of Coastal and Estuarine Environmental Technology.

West Tuckerton is an unincorporated community located within Little Egg Harbor Township in Ocean County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is commonly mistaken as part of Tuckerton Borough, which it borders. West Tuckerton is usually defined as Little Egg Harbor's "town center", but the boundaries extend all the way to the Bay and contains many subdivisions that are not normally considered part of West Tuckerton and usually mistaken to be part of neighboring Mystic Island.

The Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge is a U.S. National Wildlife Refuge located in southern and south-central New Jersey, along the Atlantic coast, north of Atlantic City, in Atlantic and Ocean counties. The refuge was created in 1984 out of two existing refuge parcels created to protect tidal wetland and shallow bay habitat for migratory water birds. The Barnegat Division (established in 1967) is located in Ocean County on the inland side of Barnegat Bay. The Brigantine Division (established in 1939) is located approximately 10 miles (16 km) north of Atlantic City along the south bank of the mouth of the Mullica River. The two divisions are separated by approximately 20 miles (32 km). The refuge is located along most active flight paths of the Atlantic Flyway, making it an important link in the network of national wildlife refuges administered nationwide by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Forsythe Refuge is a part of the Hudson River/New York Bight Ecosystem and The New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail Route. The refuge is named for Edwin B. Forsythe, conservationist Congressman from New Jersey.

Pinelands Regional School District is a regional school district in Ocean County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students from Eagleswood Township, Little Egg Harbor Township and Tuckerton Borough along with the Burlington County municipality of Bass River Township. Both schools are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the New Jersey Department of Education.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of two schools, had an enrollment of 1,621 students and 143.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.3:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "B", the second-lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From the lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

The Little Egg Harbor Township School District is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade from Little Egg Harbor Township, in Ocean County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of three schools, had an enrollment of 1,672 students and 156.7 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.7:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "B", the second-lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Public school students in seventh through twelfth grades attend the schools of the Pinelands Regional School District, which also serves students from Bass River Township, Eagleswood Township and Tuckerton Borough. Schools in the district (with 2021–22 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics) are Pinelands Regional Junior High School with 532 students in grades 7–8 and Pinelands Regional High School with 1,070 students in grades 9–12. The high school district's board of education is comprised of nine members directly elected by the residents of the constituent municipalities to three-year terms on a staggered basis, with three seats up for election each year. Little Egg Harbor Township is allocated six of the nine seats.

Pinelands Regional High School (PRHS) is a four-year regional public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from Eagleswood Township, Little Egg Harbor Township and Tuckerton Borough in Ocean County and from Bass River Township, in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as part of the Pinelands Regional School District. The school is overseen by the New Jersey Department of Education and has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1986.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,070 students and 90.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.9:1. There were 328 students (30.7% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 106 (9.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The strafing of the Little Egg Harbor Intermediate School was an incident in Little Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, United States, in 2004, when a military aircraft on a training mission unintentionally discharged 27 cannon rounds while attempting to operate an aircraft mounted laser. The aircraft was within the training range, as was the target that the laser was pointed at, which was approximately 90 degrees to the side of the aircraft. However, the cannon fires to the front of the aircraft. The cannon rounds flew over 4 miles (6.4 km), with several of them striking the school. Teachers and students were absent at the time. No one was injured.
