The Computer Graphics Lab is a computer lab located at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), founded by Alexander Schure. It was originally located at the "pink building" on the NYIT campus. It has played an important role in the history of computer graphics and animation, as founders of Pixar and Lucasfilm, including Turing Award winners Edwin Catmull and Patrick Hanrahan, began their research there. It is the birthplace of entirely 3D CGI films. The lab was initially founded to produce a short high-quality feature film with the project name of The Works. The feature, which was never completed, was a 90-minute feature that was to be the first entirely computer-generated CGI movie. Production mainly focused around DEC PDP and VAX machines. Many of the original CGL team now form the elite of the CG and computer world with members going on to Silicon Graphics, Microsoft, Cisco, NVIDIA and others, including Pixar president, co-founder and Turing laureate Ed Catmull, Pixar co-founder and Microsoft graphics fellow Alvy Ray Smith, Pixar co-founder Ralph Guggenheim, Walt Disney Animation Studios chief scientist Lance Williams, Netscape and Silicon Graphics founder Jim Clark, Tableau co-founder and Turing laureate Pat Hanrahan, Microsoft graphics fellow Jim Blinn, Thad Beier, Oscar and Bafta nominee Jacques Stroweis, Andrew Glassner, and Tom Brigham. Systems programmer Bruce Perens went on to co-found the Open Source Initiative. Researchers at the New York Institute of Technology Computer Graphics Lab created the tools that made entirely 3D CGI films possible. Among NYIT CG Lab's many innovations was an eight-bit paint system to ease computer animation. NYIT CG Lab was regarded as the top computer animation research and development group in the world during the late 70s and early 80s.

The Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center, otherwise known as ETIC, is an 8,000 square feet industry-funded research center created to promote research development, innovation and entrepreneurship at the New York Institute of Technology.

The Biomedical Research, Innovation, and Imaging Center (BRIIC) is a $31 million 20,000-square-foot research center with collaborative laboratories and imaging equipment at the New York Institute of Technology that was opened on May 16, 2025.

The Meadowbrook Polo Club (originally styled as the "Meadow Brook Club"), located in Old Westbury, New York, is the oldest continuously operating polo club in the United States, first established in 1881.

The DuPont-Guest Estate, now known as the NYIT de Seversky Mansion, is a historic estate located at Brookville in Nassau County, New York. Since 1972, it has been part of the Old Westbury campus of the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).

Steinberg Museum of Art, formerly known as Steinberg Museum of Art at Hillwood and as the Hillwood Art Museum, is affiliated with the Long Island University's School of Visual and Performance Arts institution in Brookville, New York. It is located at the B. Davis Schwartz Library at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. Established in 1988 and located on the lower level of the B. Davis Schwartz Library, the museum holds temporary exhibitions year around that span from antiquity to contemporary art. The museum also has a private collection that can be publicly viewed at the Permanent Collection Gallery. The museum's activities include family days, lectures, performances and education programs for school groups. The museum is directed by Barbara Applegate, and funded by the Thaw Charitable Trust Endowment and the New York State Council on the Arts, supported by Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.In November 2017, it held its first exhibit in its new location in the B. Davis Schwartz Library, based on 'Abstract Expressionism Behind the Iron Curtain.' The museum holds over 4,000 objects in its Permanent Collection.

WCWP (88.1 FM) is a campus radio station licensed to Brookville, New York, located on the LIU Post campus, and owned and operated by Long Island University. The station broadcasts a variety of music programs, and markets itself as "Public Radio that Rocks!" Broadcasting with an effective radiated power of 100 watts, the station serves the northern Nassau County, New York area.

LIU Post (formally, the C. W. Post Campus of Long Island University, and often referred to as C. W. Post) is a private university in Brookville, New York. It is the largest campus of the private Long Island University (LIU) system. The campus is named after breakfast cereal inventor Charles William Post, father of Marjorie Merriweather Post, who sold the property (which had been her Long Island estate known as Hillwood) to Long Island University in 1951 for $200,000 ($2,254,872 today). Three years after it acquired the property, LIU renamed it C. W. Post College in honor of Post's father.

The Louis C. Clark Sanctuary is located on Valentine's Road in Old Brookville in Nassau County, New York on Long Island. The eight-acre (3.2 ha) sanctuary was once a part of Valentine Farm. It was donated by Frances S. Weeks to The Nature Conservancy in 1965 in memory of her son, Louis C. Clark. In 2012, the property was transferred to the North Shore Land Alliance.The sanctuary protects a freshwater marsh and swamp that is part of the Cedar Swamp Creek watershed. The swamp is characterized by cattail, buttonbush, red maple and tupelo; in addition, over 150 species of wildflowers and 25 species of shrubs and vines are found within the preserve. A total of 0.75 miles (1.21 km) of trails are maintained on the property, which is open to the public. The James Preserve is located across Valentine's Road from the property.

Long Island University (LIU) is a private university with two main campuses, LIU Post and LIU Brooklyn, in the U.S. state of New York. It offers more than 500 academic programs at its main campuses, online, and at multiple non-residential. LIU has NCAA Division I athletics and hosts the annual George Polk Awards in journalism.

The Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy, formerly known as the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy, is a graduate school of Long Island University (LIU)'s Brooklyn Campus. Founded in 1886, it is one of the oldest pharmacy schools in the United States today. It became affiliated with LIU in 1929, and was fully merged into LIU in 1976, when the college was renamed for its Schwartz benefactors.

The James Preserve (also known as the Darwin James Preserve) is a nature preserve located on Long Island in the village of Old Brookville in Nassau County, New York, and connected to Greenvale. The 19.4-acre (7.9 ha) preserve was maintained by The Nature Conservancy prior to being transferred to the North Shore Land Alliance in 2015. People infer it was a former farm seeing as there are abandoned buildings, likely barns, with farming tools inside. It contains a swamp and a river with a bridge crossing over it. A trail within the preserve leads to Valentines Lane, which leads to another nature preserve, Louis C. Clark Sanctuary.
