Delmar Fieldhouse

Delmar Stadium is a 12,000-seat stadium located at 1900 Mangum Road in Houston, Texas, United States. It is primarily used for American football games of Houston Independent School District schools. It is a part of the Delmar-Tusa Sports complex includes a 5,000-seat basketball/volleyball arena, Delmar Fieldhouse, a 6,000-seat rugby/football/soccer/track venue, Dyer Stadium, a 3,000-seat football/soccer field, Delmar Jr. Field, and a 1,500-seat baseball stadium, Absher Field.Delmar Stadium was constructed in 1959 for just under $12.9 million. After severe flooding in May 2015 rendered the field unsuitable for play, artificial turf was installed later that year. In 1974, the Minnesota Vikings used Delmar Stadium as their practice facility in preparation for Super Bowl VIII, which was played at Rice Stadium. Delmar was also the primary home field of the Texas Southern University Tigers football team in 2008, following Hurricane Ike. Texas Southern played three games there during the 2008 season, including a rivalry game against Grambling State University on November 20.On March 13, 2010, Delmar Stadium hosted the third annual Space City Classic high school senior all-star football game. Organizers intend to keep the Space City Classic at Delmar in the future.On July 22, 2011, Trae Day, in honor of rapper Trae Tha Truth, was hosted for its 4th year.The stadium was used as a filming site in the 1998 movie Rushmore, for the scene where Max is flying a kite and meets Margaret. In 2019, the Houston Sabercats, returned to play a professional rugby game at the stadium when the pitch at their new purpose built rugby stadium was not deemed playable following their soft opening.

The Houston Independent School District (HISD) is the largest public school system in Texas, and the eighth-largest in the United States. Houston ISD serves as a community school district for most of the city of Houston and several nearby and insular municipalities in addition to some unincorporated areas. Like most districts in Texas, it is independent of the city of Houston and all other municipal and county jurisdictions. The district has its headquarters in the Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center in Houston. In 2016, the school district was rated "met standards" by the Texas Education Agency.

Houston is the planned southern terminus of the Texas Central Railway high-speed line. The station is located in the Lazybrook/Timbergrove neighborhood of Houston, Texas, northeast of the Interstate 610 and U.S. Route 290 interchange at the site of the former Northwest Mall. The station is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from the METRO Northwest Transit Center and about 8 miles (13 km) from Downtown.

Northwest Mall was a shopping mall located in the Lazybrook/Timbergrove neighborhood of Houston, Texas near the intersection of U.S. Route 290 and Loop 610. The mall opened in October 1968, two weeks after its sister property, Almeda Mall, opened on the south side of Houston. The malls were nearly twins of each another. Northwest Mall was originally anchored by JCPenney and Foley's, with Woolworth's, Palais Royal, and Houston based Battelstein's as its three junior anchors. The mall has 794,092 square feet (73,773.6 m2) of leasable space.Due to poor performance and high vacancy rates, Northwest Mall closed on March 31, 2017 (2017-03-31). The last remnant of the mall, Carolyn Thompson's Antique Center, which operated on the first floor of the original JC Penney's anchor, closed on December 31, 2021. The mall is now 100% vacated, abandoned, and awaiting demolition and redevelopment of the site.

The Southern Apache Museum is a non profit 501 c3 in Houston, Texas located 9600 Hempstead Highway, 550 Northwest Mall. This museum preserves Native American history, traditions, culture in Texas. S.A.M. (Southern Apache museum) was founded by Chance L. Landry, who is of both Lipan Apache and published author/artist. On display in museum are many original Native American paintings by Chance Landry depicting Native American Indian history in Texas. Southern Apache Museum is open to the general public with a suggested $5.00 donation. Southern Apache Museum had its grand opening on March 10, 2012.It closed in 2017 due to the owners of the mall engaging in redevelopment of its space.

El Hidalguense is a Mexican restaurant in Houston, Texas. Established in April 1994, the business was included in The New York Times's 2023 list of the 50 best restaurants in the United States.

The Awty International School is a private school located in Spring Branch, western Houston, Texas, United States. Founded in 1956, Awty allows its students to receive the International Baccalaureate or the French Baccalauréat, and is the only school in Houston fully accredited by the French Ministry of Education, making it the only overseas school for French national students in the Houston area. It has age three to 12th grade students. Awty is the largest international school in the United States and the largest private day school in Houston. It is part of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) network of schools for French national students abroad.

The Marq*E Entertainment Center is an open-air, 35-acre entertainment center in Houston, in the U.S. state of Texas. The center has a Regal theater with an IMAX theatre.

The Regis School of the Sacred Heart is an elementary and middle school for boys. It is located at 7330 Westview Drive in the Spring Branch area of Houston, in the U.S. state of Texas. The boys school serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The school has been single gender and non-profit since its founding and is a Houston Area Independent School. Regis is also part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. As at 2022, the school has about 277 students enrolled, and it celebrated its thirtieth anniversary during the 2021–22 school year. Regis, an independent Catholic school, is the only all-boys school of the Archdiocese to have early childhood, elementary, and middle school programs in one school. Regis is the brother school of the Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart.

Neon Boots Dancehall & Saloon is a Country and Western bar/honky tonk that was founded as the Esquire Ballroom in 1955 by Raymond Proske in Houston, Texas, at 11410 Hempstead northwest of downtown Houston. In the 1970s and 1980s the club was considered the main rival to Gilley's Club across town in Pasadena. The Esquire Ballroom closed in 1995 and remained unused for a number of years. The nightclub reopened as Neon Boots Dancehall & Saloon in August 2013 as the largest country and western genre bar in the Southern United States, the second largest country and western dancehall and bar in the state of Texas, and largest country and western bar in Houston. It continues to host music acts, comedy shows, charity events and more on the same stage that it used as the previous Esquire Ballroom. The venue is very welcoming to everyone and has a great mainstream following as well.On March 28, 2014, USA Today named Neon Boots one of the top ten dance halls in Texas in their "10 Great Places" series.

Somerset Green is a gated community in Houston, Texas, developed by Hines Interests Limited Partnership. Nancy Sarnoff of the Houston Chronicle described Somerset Green as "a European-style residential development". Preston Wood & Associates was the land planner of the development.Located on a 46-acre tract of land inside Houston's Interstate 610 Loop, Somerset Green is a high-end planned community with detached townhome sites, water features and green spaces. The development also contains pocket parks, dog parks, and an amenity area and gathering spot with a resort-style swimming pool.By October 2013 the company had acquired the property for the development. The companies building houses in the first phase were Coventry Homes, Pelican Builders, and Toll Brothers. Mark Cover, the southwest region executive vice president and CEO of Hines, stated that the housing prices would range from $500,000 to $1 million.
