GreenStreet, formerly known as Houston Pavilions, is a commercial development in Downtown Houston, Texas, United States. Construction was scheduled to begin in Spring 2006, with the first developments opening in the fourth quarter of 2007. The project possesses an estimated cost of $200 million and is expected to contain almost 560,000 square feet (50,000 m2) of space, including 360,000 square feet (33,000 m2) of retail space in the first two levels of the development. The project covers three 1.4-acre (5,700 m2) city blocks. As of November 16, 2006, 50% of the retail space had been leased. 200,000 square feet (19,000 m2) of loft office space will be available on the mid-block between Fannin and San Jacinto Streets. Office parking will be provided in the Houston Pavilions' 1,675 garage located on the corner of Main and Polk.The project was developed by Texas Real Estate Trust, Inc. and Entertainment Development Group, who also developed the Denver Pavilions in Denver, Colorado. Geoffrey Jones and William Denton served as the co-developers of the project. The designers were Laguarda.Low Architects from Dallas. To finance the development, developers obtained a construction loan from North Houston Bank, an $8.8 million development grant for infrastructure improvements from the city of Houston, and $5.5 million from Harris County. The Houston Chronicle reported that the Pavilions will provide around 1,800 to 2,000 full- and part-time jobs. The Houston Pavilions office tower, which is 11 stories tall, is named the NRG Tower, after its main tenant.

The Houston Tower was a plan for a 500-story skyscraper conceived in the 1970s to be built in Houston, originally designed as a research project for the feasibility of a 500-story building. American Architect Robert B. Sobel of Emery Roth & Sons, with engineer and fellow American Nat W. Krahl of Rice University, created a concept for a 500-story building made from 200-foot sided bundled triangular tubes. Sobel had theorized the construction of a 500-story building as early as 1974.According to Emery Roth & Sons, the project showed that the technology and materials existed to build a 500-story (or taller) building if someone wished to do so. Since its first inception, it has remained one of the tallest buildings ever fully envisioned, and would have taken up 16 city blocks of 250x250 feet if constructed. Its design features are reminiscent of the Sears Tower, which utilizes a similar construction pattern albeit on a smaller scale.

Four Seasons Hotel Houston is a hotel in Houston, Texas, United States. It is operated by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. The hotel includes Four Seasons Place, a group of 64 apartment units, and an Italian restaurant. It is a part of the Houston Center complex.

Bell station is a METRORail light rail station in Houston, Texas. The station was opened on January 1, 2004 and is operated by the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO). It is located at the intersection of Main Street and Bell Street in Downtown Houston. This is the fourth station heading south along the rail line.

First City Tower, located at 1001 Fannin, is a skyscraper in downtown Houston, Texas. The building rises 662 feet (202 m) in height. Completed in 1981, it contains 49 floors. First City Tower currently stands as the 14th-tallest building in the city. The architectural firm who designed the building was Morris-Aubry, and was built by W. S. Bellows Construction Corporation. The structure is an example of late-modernist architecture. The tower, which formerly housed the headquarters of the now-defunct First City National Bank, now serves as the global headquarters of Waste Management, Inc, and the headquarters of Vinson & Elkins. It also houses the U.S. headquarters of Campus Living Villages.The building, with Class A office space, has 1,300,000 square feet (120,000 m2) of office space. The building is noted for its distinctive "staircase cuts" on the north and south facades, and is composed mostly of aluminum and green-tinted glass. These designs were designed to represent the letter "F" for the building's developer and first major tenant, First City Bank, which was itself founded by attorneys of the international law firm Vinson & Elkins. First City Tower was constructed in a diagonal rotation away from Houston's main north–south street grid, which gives the impression that the structure has a larger footprint than it actually does.

The Humble Oil Building, is a historic office building, designed in the Italian Renaissance architecture style, located at 1212 Main Street in Houston, Texas and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was constructed by Humble Oil and Refining Company in 1921. The tower section was added on to the building in 1936. The building complex served as the company headquarters for Humble Oil and Refining Company from 1921 until 1963, when the company moved into what is now the ExxonMobil Building at 800 Bell Street. In 2003, the building complex was renovated for use as a combination hotel and apartments, the apartment section was converted to additional hotel rooms in 2015.

Houston House Apartments is a 31-story apartment complex in the Skyline District of Downtown Houston, Texas, United States. The building, located in the southern portion of Downtown, has 396 apartments. Charles M. Goodman designed the building, which opened in 1966. Since 1983 Larry Hill of Sumar Realty Corp. and a group of investors have owned the building as part of a partnership. As of 2007 the building had a 90% occupancy rate, and it was one of the few residential buildings in Downtown Houston that had been in operation for around 40 years.Several years prior to 2010, the owners tried to sell the building to a Chicago company, NVG Residential. NVG planned to close on the property in January 2008. After the planned acquisition NVG planned to install new windows, re-paint the exterior, improve the lobby and the 9th and 10th floor amenity areas. In the amenity areas the company planned to install a business and fitness center, and updated club house, a basketball court, a pool, and an outdoor dining area. The deal with the Chicago firm failed. By 2010 Hill and his business partners began a planned over $10 million renovation of the building.In 2007 a vehicle driving in the apartment complex's garage punched through the wall of the garage and landed wheels up on another downtown building. The driver died in the crash.

Toyota Center is an indoor arena located in Houston. It is named after the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota. The arena is home to the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA), and it was once the home of the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL), and the Houston Comets of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Rockets owner Leslie Alexander first began to request a new arena in 1995 and attempted to release the Rockets from their lease at The Summit, which ran until 2003. However, he was denied by arena owner Chuck Watson, then-owner of the Aeros, who also wanted control of a new arena. The two sides agreed to equal control over an arena in a deal signed in 1997, but the proposal was rejected by city voters in a 1999 referendum. It was not until the city and the Rockets signed an amended agreement in 2001, excluding the Aeros, that the proposal was accepted. Construction began in July 2001, and the new arena was officially opened in October 2003. The total costs were $235 million, with the city of Houston paying the majority, and the Rockets paying for enhancements. Toyota paid US$100 million for the naming rights.

One City Centre is a 410 ft (125 m) tall skyscraper in Houston, Texas, United States, made from glass, steel, and concrete It was completed in 1960. It has 32 floors and is the 46th tallest building in the city. Originally called the First City National Bank Building, One City Centre is the first high modern office building built in downtown Houston. Along the parking garage a message sign made of hundreds of lights flashes animations to coordinate with the evening shows of water and light along the Main Street Square fountain and light rail area.

Downtown is the largest central business district in the city of Houston and the largest in the state of Texas, located near the geographic center of the metropolitan area at the confluence of Interstate 10, Interstate 45, and Interstate 69. The 1.84-square-mile (4.8 km2) district, enclosed by the aforementioned highways, contains the original townsite of Houston at the confluence of Buffalo Bayou and White Oak Bayou, a point known as Allen's Landing. Downtown has been the city's preeminent commercial district since its founding in 1836. Today home to nine Fortune 500 corporations, Downtown contains 50 million square feet (4,600,000 m2) of office space and is the workplace of 150,000 employees. Downtown is also a major destination for entertainment and recreation. Nine major performing arts organizations are located within the 13,000-seat Theater District at prominent venues including Alley Theatre, Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Jones Hall, and the Wortham Theater Center. Two major professional sports venues, Minute Maid Park and the Toyota Center, are home to the Houston Astros and Houston Rockets, respectively. Discovery Green, an urban park located on the east side of the district adjacent to the George R. Brown Convention Center, anchors the city's convention district. Downtown is Houston's civic center, containing Houston City Hall, the jails, criminal, and civil courthouses of Harris County, and a federal prison and courthouse. Downtown is also a major public transportation hub, lying at the center of the light rail system, park and ride system, and the metropolitan freeway network; the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is headquartered in the district. Over 100,000 people commute through Downtown daily. An extensive network of pedestrian tunnels and skywalks connects a large number of buildings in the district; this system also serves as a subterranean mall. Geographically, Downtown is bordered by East Downtown to the east, Third Ward to the south, Midtown to the southwest, Fourth Ward to the west, Sixth Ward to the northwest, and Near Northside to the north. The district's streets form a strict grid plan of approximately 400 square blocks, oriented at a southwest to northeast angle. The northern end of the district is crossed by Buffalo Bayou, the banks of which function as a linear park with a grade-separated system of hike-and-bike trails.

The Edward A. Thomas Building, or 1200 Travis, is a 28-story building in Downtown Houston, Texas that is currently occupied by the Houston Police Department as its current headquarters. At one time it was known as the Houston Natural Gas Building. The building houses HPD's administrative and investigative offices.The building, with 575,000 square feet (53,400 m2) of rentable space, has a typical floor size of 16,500 square feet (1,530 m2). The police department's 40,000-square-foot (3,700 m2), three-floor crime laboratory, a 20,000-square-foot (1,900 m2) fitness center, a 5,000-square-foot (460 m2) voice/data room, a 10,000-square-foot (930 m2) 24-hour emergency tactical command center, and a fingerprinting laboratory are located in the building.

The Consulate-General of Japan in Houston (在ヒューストン日本国総領事館, Zai Hyūsuton Nippon-koku Sōryōjikan) is Japan's diplomatic facility in Houston, Texas, United States. It is located in Suite 3000 at 2 Houston Center, which is located at 900 Fannin Street in Downtown Houston. The consulate serves Texas and Oklahoma.As of 2020 the consul general is Hideo Fukushima (福島 秀夫, Fukushima Hideo).
