Baldushk is a village and a former municipality in the Tirana County, central Albania. At the 2015 local government reform, it became a subdivision of the municipality Tirana. The population at the 2011 census was 4,576. It is located 15 km south-west of the city of Tirana. Baldushk Administrative Unit is bordered to the north by the villages of Vishaj and Arbanë of the Vaqarr Administrative Unit, to the east by the village of Lugë-Shalqizë of the Bërzhitė Administrative Unit and the villages of Durisht and Petrelë of the Petrelë Administrative Unit, to the south by the village of Pajovë of the Pajovë Administrative Unit of Peqin District, and to the west by the villages of Çaush, Dorëz, Grecë and Gror of the Peze Administrative Unit and the District of Kavaja. The territory of Baldushk is located in a valley crossed by the river Zhullima and consists of plains, small to medium hills, slopes and valleys. This territory is covered with scrub forests of mare, juniper, gorse, heather, oak, ash, etc. The forests of the municipality are natural, except for an area of about 770 ha with Mediterranean pine planted with seedlings many years ago. There are also many unproductive, unproductive areas in the territory of the municipality. Baldushku has 14 villages, which are inhabited by 5267 inhabitants. The settlements are mainly concentrated in small neighbourhoods at the foot of the hills and are connected between them by cross roads. The houses are mainly new constructions of 1-2 floors. The agricultural production of the area is based on the organic production of vegetables, cultured fruit, trees, olive groves of 25 thousand roots. The area is also known for raising poultry (turkeys), the tradition of the area. In terms of tourism, the picturesque villages of Mumajes Kodër and Shpat are located on the territory of the municipality, where there is the historical tap of Mamica and a 30m deep cave. In the village of Kakunjë there is the old church of Saint Mary.

Tirana County

Tirana County (Albanian: Qarku Tiranë), officially the County of Tirana (Albanian: Qarku i Tiranës), is a county in the Central Region of Albania. It is the tenth largest by area and the most populous of the twelve counties, with more than 912,000 people within an area of 1,652 km2 (638 sq mi). The county borders on the Adriatic Sea to the west, the counties of Durrës to the northwest, Dibër to the northeast, Elbasan to the east and Fier to the southwest. It is divided into five municipalities, Tirana, Kamëz, Kavajë, Rrogozhinë and Vorë, with all of whom incorporate twenty-nine administrative units. Geographically, Tirana extends from the high and rugged Skanderbeg Mountains in the east to the flat shores of the Albanian Adriatic Sea Coast along the Mediterranean Sea. Due to its location and the close proximity to the Adriatic Sea, its climate is particularly influenced by a Mediterranean climate with four distinct seasons. Two of the country's fourteen National Parks are located in the county, with Dajti in the center and Divjakë-Karavasta in the southwest. Historically, Tirana has been populated since Paleolithic times dating back 10,000 to 30,000 years ago. As argued by various archaeologists, the populated places are filled with Ancient Illyrian toponyms, as its precincts are some of the earliest regions in Albania to be inhabited. Nevertheless, the city of Tirana was established as a city centuries later in 1614 during the Ottoman occupation of Albania. The capital of the county is Tirana, which is also the largest city by area and population in Albania. A gamma-world-city, it is the most influential economic and political center of the country.
