Delhi High School

Delhi ( DEL-hye) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Merced County in the U.S. state of California. Delhi is 18 miles (29 km) west-northwest of Merced, at an elevation of 118 feet (36 m). According to the 2020 census, the population was 10,656.

Hilmar is an unincorporated community in Merced County, California, United States. It is located 4.25 miles (6.8 km) west-southwest of Delhi, spanning 3.9 sq mi (10 km2) and at an elevation of 92 ft (28 m) above sea level. For census purposes, Hilmar is aggregated with a nearby community into the Hilmar-Irwin census-designated place, which had 5,164 residents as of the 2020 census.Hilmar began as a colony of Swedish immigrants as early as 1906. The first post office opened in 1920. It is the home of the Hilmar Cheese Company which was founded in 1984 and began production in 1985. Hilmar has five schools within its district: Elim Elementary, Merquin Elementary, Hilmar Middle School, Hilmar High School, and Irwin Continuation School. Residents refer to the agricultural area as "Country Living at Its Best", and for people living outside the community, it is referred to as "100 Miles to Anywhere".Hilmar has the 10th largest community of Portuguese-American people, by percentage of population. In support of the Portuguese population, there is a Portuguese bakery and fish market, and the high school has a Portuguese club, S.E.C.A., and teaches the Portuguese language. Hilmar was the southernmost station of the Tidewater Southern Railway. The line terminating in the town was considered the main line of the railroad and was projected to continue south toward Fresno or Bakersfield until the mid-1930s. The line into Hilmar was abandoned in the late 1950s.

Irwin is an unincorporated community in Merced County, California, United States. It is located 4.5 miles (7.2 km) west-northwest of Delhi and about 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Hilmar, at an elevation of 98 feet (30 m). For census purposes, Irwin is aggregated with nearby communities in the census-designated place Hilmar-Irwin, California. A post office operated at Irwin from 1911 to 1958. The name honors W.A. Irwin, founder of the town.In the early twentieth century, Irwin had a schoolhouse with several teachers, three churches, a hotel, and two cream shipping stations. Much of the population of the time was of Swedish descent.

Cortez is an unincorporated community in Merced County, California. It is located on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad 11.5 miles (19 km) northwest of Atwater, at an elevation of 141 feet (43 m).

Turlock High School (THS) is a comprehensive high school located in Turlock, in the heart of the northern San Joaquin Valley in the U.S. state of California. Turlock High School is situated on a 40+ acre campus, in the midst of a long established residential neighborhood, consisting of 133 classrooms positioned in and around an array of athletic, agricultural, business, and vocational complexes. It serves two public elementary school districts in addition to a number of private and parochial schools that exist in the surrounding area. By the late 20th century, THS was the second largest high school in northern California. However, to ease the burden of overcrowding, a community bond was passed in 1998 to construct a second comprehensive campus, John H. Pitman High School, which opened in August, 2002.

Turlock is a city in Stanislaus County, California, United States. Its population was 72,740 at the 2020 United States Census, making it the second-largest city in Stanislaus County after Modesto.

Hospital services include 24-hour emergency care, the only heart attack receiving center between Modesto and Fresno, an advanced center for mothers and newborns, rehabilitation and therapy, and more. The Emanuel Cancer Center provides specialized cancer services that include diagnosis, treatment and support.

Denair High School is a public high school located in Denair, California founded in 1912.

Turlock–Denair station is an Amtrak intercity rail station in Denair, California, which also serves the nearby larger town of Turlock. The station is served by the seven daily round trips of the San Joaquins. The growth of Turlock and Denair was bolstered by rival railroads. Turlock was established by the Southern Pacific Railroad as it built through the area in the early 1870s. A few decades later, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway constructed a line roughly three miles to the east, and the town of Denair developed along the tracks. Amtrak chose to use the Santa Fe tracks when the San Joaquin service was established in 1974. Denair (later called Turlock–Denair) was added as a stop on September 8, 1987.
