Templenoe GAA

Templenoe (Irish: An Teampall Nua, meaning 'new church') is a civil parish in County Kerry, Ireland. It is situated four miles from Kenmare, on the N70 road to Sneem, which forms part of the Ring of Kerry. Templenoe is the location of the Ring of Kerry golf club. There is a Gaelic Athletic Association ground, a pier, and a Catholic chapel of ease for the Kenmare parish. Dromore Castle, Dunkerron Castle and Dromquinna House are located in the area. Templenoe GAA is the local Gaelic Athletic Association club. The Gaelic football playing brothers of the County Kerry team, Pat Spillane, Mick Spillane and Tom Spillane, were each born in Templenoe.In the HBO TV series Boardwalk Empire, Templenoe is the birthplace of fictional character Margaret Schroeder née Rohan.

Dunkerron Castle (Irish: Caisleán Dún Ciarán) is a ruined four-storey tower house located in Templenoe, near Kenmare, County Kerry, in south-west Ireland. The castle was the family seat of the O'Sullivan Mór family from the late 16th century.

Moll's Gap or Céim an Daimh (meaning, Gap of the Ox), is a mountain pass on the N71 road from Kenmare to Killarney in Kerry, Ireland. Moll's Gap is on the Ring of Kerry route, and offers views of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountains, and is a popular tourist location. The rocks at Moll's gap are formed of Old Red Sandstone, which are small quartz grains laid down over 350 million years ago; unlike most of the Old Red Sandstone around Killarney which is stained red by iron oxide, the rock at Moll's gap is stained green by chlorite. Moll's Gap is named after Moll Kissane, who ran a shebeen (an unlicensed public house) in the 1820s, while the road was under construction.Like the nearby Gap of Dunloe, Moll's Gap is an example of a "glacial breach", where a 500 metre deep glacier in the Black Valley broke through Moll's Gap 25,000 years ago during Ireland's last ice age.

Eirk Bog is a national nature reserve of approximately 40 acres (0.16 km2) in County Kerry.

The Black Valley or Cummeenduff (from Irish Com Uí Dhuibh, meaning 'Black Glen') is a remote valley at the southern end of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountain range in Kerry, situated south of the Gap of Dunloe and north of Moll's Gap; it is used as a southerly access into the Gap of Dunloe.The valley is usually accessed by driving to Moll's Gap and then continuing east on the R568 road until a small side-road (at V853774, labelled "Gearhasallagh" after the townland), descends steeply north into the valley. The Black Valley is part of the Kerry Way, a walkers version of the Ring of Kerry beginning and ending in Killarney, and is also part of a 55–kilometre loop of the Killarney–Gap of Dunloe–Black Valley–Moll's Gap area, popular with cyclists. The Black Valley is also a southerly access route to the Head of the Gap in the Gap of Dunloe, and to Lord Brandon's Cottage. The Black Valley is also noted for being one of the last places in mainland Ireland to be connected to the electricity and telephone networks due to its remoteness, which happened in 1976.

Kenmare (Irish: Neidín, meaning 'the little nest') is a small town in the south of County Kerry, Ireland. The name Kenmare is the anglicised form of Ceann Mara, meaning "head of the sea", referring to the head of Kenmare Bay. It is also a townland and civil parish.

It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star each year in the period 1983-1990 and in the period 1994–1999. The Egon Ronay Guide awarded the restaurant one star in the period 1983–1984.The restaurant is housed in the 5-star hotel "Park Hotel Kenmare", which was established in 1897.In the periods that the restaurant was awarded Michelin stars, headchef were Colin O'Daly (1983-1985), Brian Cleere (1994-1995), Bruno Schmidt and the late Matthew d'Arcy

Kenmare Shamrocks GAA (Irish: Craobh Chumann Iomána & Peile na Seamróige An Neidín) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Kenmare in County Kerry. The club plays both Gaelic Football and Hurling and is affiliated with Kenmare District. Football is the more dominant sport in the club and their first team compete in the Kerry Senior Football Championship, the highest level of gaelic football in Kerry. Until the club gained senior status in 2017, players in the club competed in a joint divisional side with other clubs from the Kenmare District like Templenoe. In underage, the clubs players also play with the divisional team.The hurling team compete in the Kerry Intermediate Hurling Championship, the second level of hurling in the county. Kenmare Shamrocks have won the Kerry Senior Hurling Championship on three occasions including the first ever championship in 1889.

Cruach Mhór (Irish for "big stack"), at 932 metres (3,058 ft) high, is the tenth-highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin list, and the eleventh-highest peak in Ireland according to the Vandeleur-Lynam list. A distinctive square grotto marks the summit. It is part of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks in County Kerry.

La Cascade was the previous restaurant of Sheen Falls Lodge, a hotel outside the town of Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland. It is a fine-dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star each year in the period 1993 to 1998.During the period the restaurant was awarded the Michelin star, the head chef was Fergus Moore.The restaurant changed name to The Falls in 2018 when it and the hotel changed ownership.

Cnoc an Chuillinn (Irish for "hill of the steep slope"), at 958 metres (3,143 ft), is the sixth-highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin list and the seventh-highest peak in Ireland on the Vandeleur-Lynam list. The name is sometimes incorrectly anglicised to Knockacullion, which is a name used for peaks and townlands in other parts of Ireland. Cnoc an Chuillinn is part of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks range in County Kerry.

Maolán Buí (Irish for "yellow/golden round knoll"), also known by the name Bearna Rua, at 973 metres (3,192 ft) high, is the fifth-highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin list, or the sixth-highest peak in Ireland according to the Vandeleur-Lynam list. Maolán Buí is also known for its narrow north-west spur, called The Bone. It is part of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks in County Kerry.
