Ardfert railway station

Ardfert Abbey (Irish: Mainistir Ard Fhearta), also known as Ardfert Friary, is a ruined medieval Franciscan friary and National Monument in Ardfert, County Kerry, Ireland. It is thought to be built on the site of an early Christian monastic site founded by Brendan the Navigator. The present remains date from the mid-thirteenth century, with the residential tower being added in the 15th century. The friary was dissolved in 1584.

Ardfert are a Gaelic football team in north County Kerry, Ireland. They are one of two clubs in Ardfert, St Brendan's Hurling Club being the local hurling club. They play in the County Junior Football Championship and Div 2 County League. By winning the Kerry Junior Football Championship in 2005 by beating Cordal 3–11 to 3–07 they were promoted to the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship and represented Kerry in the Munster Junior Club Football Championship and in that final they beat Erin's Own 1–08 to 0–10 and represented Munster in the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship. On 19 February 2006, they won this championship in Croke Park by beating Loughrea 1–07 to 0–09. In 2006, they won the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship beating Annascaul and represented Kerry at the Munster Intermediate Club Football Championship where they defeated Corofin of Clare 1–06 to 1–04. They then went on to the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship final winning that as well 1–04 to 0–05 by defeating Eoghan Rua of Derry. They now play in the Kerry Senior Club Football Championship.

St Brendan's is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling club in the Ardfert area of north County Kerry, Ireland. St Brendan's play in the Kerry Senior Hurling Championship. The club is primarily concerned with the game of hurling.

The Ardfert Cathedral (Irish: Ardeaglais Ard Fhearta) is a ruined cathedral in Ardfert, County Kerry, Ireland. Dedicated to Saint Brendan, it was the seat of the Diocese of Ardfert from 1117. It is now a heritage tourism site.

Mercy Secondary School, Mounthawk is a secondary school in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland. As of 2024, the school had over 1,300 pupils and approximately 105 teachers (85 permanent and 20 substitutes). The school was formed, between 2001 and 2002, following the amalgamation of two former Mercy schools: St John's Balloonagh and St. Mary's Moyderwell. The school operates under the trusteeship of CEIST (Catholic Education an Irish Schools Trust).

Kerry Football Club (Irish: Cumann Peile Chiarraí) is an Irish association football club based in Tralee, County Kerry. They play their home matches at Mounthawk Park. The club competes in the League of Ireland First Division, starting in the 2023 season, with an inaugural fixture against Cobh Ramblers.

The Tralee–Fenit Greenway is a greenway and rail trail in Ireland, which is due to form part of EuroVelo EV1 and the Great Southern Trail. The 14km route was planned to be completed by 2021, but delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a rescheduled opening of summer 2022. The first phase of the greenway, comprising 6.5km of the route, was opened in June 2022, this was extended to 11.2km in October 2022.

Spa (Irish: An Spá) is a village in County Kerry, Ireland. It is located on the R558 regional road between Tralee and Fenit, overlooking Tralee Bay. Spa lies in the historical barony of Trughanacmy.Spa is classified as a built up area by the Central Statistics Office, and had a population of 443 people as of the 2016 census. As of the 2020 school year, Spa's national (primary) school had an enrollment of 212 pupils. The local Gaelic football club is Churchill GAA.

Churchill GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based near Spa outside Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. They play in Division 1 of the county league and in the Kerry Junior Football Championship. All-Ireland medal winner Pat McCarthy previously played for the club. Churchill fields both women's and men's teams.

The Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee is a private hospital in County Kerry, Ireland. The hospital is part of Bon Secours Mercy Health. This includes sister hospitals in Cork, Dublin, Galway and Limerick.

The Kerry Camino is a walk modelled on the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain. The route comprises a section of the Dingle Way between Tralee and Dingle which has some of the most dramatic scenery and coastline in Ireland. The route purportedly follows a path taken by Saint Brendan, at present the route begins at the St. Johns Roman Catholic Church in Tralee and ends at St. James Church of Ireland in Dingle.

The North Kerry Way (Irish: Slí Chiarraí Thuaidh) is a long-distance trail in County Kerry, Ireland. It is 45 kilometres (28 miles) long and begins in Tralee and ends in Ballyheigue. It is typically completed in two days. It is designated as a National Waymarked Trail by the National Trails Office of the Irish Sports Council and is managed by North Kerry Walks Limited. The trail follows the coastline of Tralee Bay, beginning at Tralee and following the towpath of the ship canal to Blennerville and then along the coast to the village of Spa. It then crosses Banna Strand to reach Ballyheigue where a looped trail brings the route around Kerry Head and back to Ballyheigue. A review of the National Waymarked Trails in 2010 found medium multiday usage and high day usage of the trail and recommended consideration be given to developing the trail as a National Long Distance Trail, a proposed new standard of trail in Ireland, intended to meet international standards for outstanding trails.
