It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Masłów. It lies approximately 9 km (6 mi) east of the regional capital Kielce. The local church contains a monumental Altar of Transfiguration of Jesus and also Stations of the Cross designed by Józef Gosławski.There is also a sport airfield Kielce-Masłów Airport.

Its seat is the village of Masłów, which lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) east of the regional capital Kielce. The gmina covers an area of 86.27 square kilometres (33.3 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 9,595.

Ciekoty [t͡ɕɛˈkɔtɨ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Masłów, within Kielce County, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, in south-central Poland. It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) east of Masłów and 14 km (9 mi) east of the regional capital Kielce. Geographically, it lies near the base of Mount Radostowa in the Łysogóry range of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains.

Kielce, and the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship of which it the capital of, intend to adapt the airport in Masłów (near Kielce), for regional traffic. Its current runway is asphalt, and its size is 1115 x 30 meters. It is planned to develop the airport, but rather to the category of a City Airport. The local government have founded a company "Lotnisko Kielce" with the goal to upgrade the airport. There are also discussions to build a completely new airport in Obice.
