Söğütlüçeşme railway station (Turkish: Söğütlüçeşme İstasyonu) is a railway station in the Kadıköy district of İstanbul, Turkey. Up until 2013, the station was serviced by commuter trains as well as regional and intercity trains. Söğütlüçeşme was closed down on 19 June 2013 for the rehabilitation and expansion of the railway for the new Marmaray commuter rail system. Located 1.46 km (0.91 mi) east from Haydarpaşa station, it is situated upon a viaduct with two island platforms with four tracks. Söğütlüçeşme is the eastern terminus of the Istanbul Metrobus Bus rapid transit line. It is located along Ziverbey Road, just west of the Istanbull Inner Beltway, adjacent to the Söğütlüçeşme railway station. Connection to Marmaray commuter rail service as well as high-speed, intercity and regional rail will be available towards the end of 2018.Söğütlüçeşme station was opened on 3 March 2009 as part of the eastward expansion of the line across the Bosporus.

Kızıltoprak railway station was a station in Kadıköy, Istanbul. It consisted of two side platforms serving two tracks. The original station was built in 1872 by the Ottoman government as part of the railway from Istanbul to İzmit and taken over by the Ottoman Anatolian Railway in 1888. In 1949 the station was expanded by the Turkish State Railways to accommodate two tracks and 29 May 1969, electric commuter trains began serving the Kızıltoprak. The station was closed on 19 February 2013 when all commuter trains were suspended to make way for the new Marmaray commuter rail system. Along with Kanarya, Kızıltoprak station was closed down permanently in 2013 and the platforms were demolished shortly after.

Founded in 1914, both the men's and women's rowing teams are the most successful in Turkey, having won the Turkish Men's Rowing Championship a record 35 times and the Women's Rowing Championship a record 18 times, amongst others.

Shaft Rock Blues and Jazz Club is a blues and rock club in Istanbul, Turkey. Besides providing blues and jazz music which gives the place its name, it additionally offers a combination of rock music covers by famous Turkish musicians and a weekly free stage night for newcomer musicians. Its late night drinking and disco style entertainment is one of the few on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. Its location in regional town and city centre Kadikoy has been a focus of some contribution to late night disorder in this area, prompting a recent zero tolerance approach to drunkenness in this licensed premise. It offers live music from 23:00 to 04:00, and has a busy dancefloor almost every night.

Kalamış is a neighborhood on the bay of the same name in the district of Kadıköy on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, Turkey.It is located between Kurbağalıdere, Kızıltoprak, Feneryolu and Fenerbahçe. It has a large marina and park. There are also some nightclubs and restaurants. Galatasaray Sports Club's Galatasaray Kalamış Facilities is also located there. Kurbağalıdere flows into Kalamış Bay. Fenerbahçe Sports Club's Dereağzı Facilities are located at the point where Kurbağalıdere empties into the bay. Kalamış is famous for its lyrics by Behçet Kemal Çağlar and the composition by Münir Nurettin Selçuk. "Yok başka yerin lütfu ne yazdan, ne de kıştan; Bir tatlı huzur almaya geldik Kalamış'tan"

Chalcedon ( or ; Greek: Χαλκηδών, sometimes transliterated as Chalkedon) was an ancient maritime town of Bithynia, in Asia Minor. It was located almost directly opposite Byzantium, south of Scutari (modern Üsküdar) and it is now a district of the city of Istanbul named Kadıköy. The name Chalcedon is a variant of Calchedon, found on all the coins of the town as well as in manuscripts of Herodotus's Histories, Xenophon's Hellenica, Arrian's Anabasis, and other works. Except for the Maiden's Tower, almost no above-ground vestiges of the ancient city survive in Kadıköy today; artifacts uncovered at Altıyol and other excavation sites are on display at the Istanbul Archaeological Museum. The site of Chalcedon is located on a small peninsula on the north coast of the Sea of Marmara, near the mouth of the Bosphorus. A stream, called the Chalcis or Chalcedon in antiquity and now known as the Kurbağalıdere (Turkish: stream with frogs), flows into Fenerbahçe Bay. There, Greek colonists from Megara in Attica founded the settlement of Chalcedon in 685 BC, some seventeen years before Byzantium. The Greek name of the ancient town is from its Phoenician name qart-ħadaʃt, meaning "New Town", whence Karkhēd(ōn), as similarly is the name of Carthage. The mineral chalcedony is named after the city.

Caferağa Sports Hall, (Turkish: Caferağa Spor Salonu) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Kadıköy, Istanbul, Turkey and opened in 1982. It is owned by the Municipality of Kadıköy and operated by the Directorate of Youth and Sport of Istanbul Province.The arena with an audience capacity of 2850, hosts beside national and international sports events such as basketball, table tennis, volleyball, wrestling and weightlifting, concerts and congresses.
