East Keansburg is an unincorporated community located within Middletown Township in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As the name suggests, the area is east of Keansburg with Route 36 bordering the south, Port Monmouth to the east across Pews Creek, and the Raritan Bay to the north. The community is included in the generalized North Middletown region of the township. East Keansburg is surrounded by an earthen levee (known as "the dike") constructed as protection against flooding, during large storms such as Hurricane Sandy.The community includes the Tonya Keller Community Center, McMahon Park, and Ideal Beach along the bay. East Keansburg Fire Company #1 and Middletown Township First Aid & Rescue Squad are both located in East Keansburg. Portions of the Keansburg High School grounds are in Middletown/East Keansburg.

North Middletown is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) within Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 3,295.East Keansburg was renamed North Middletown by municipal ordinance around 1988.

Mater Dei Prep: A Catholic Preparatory School (commonly known as "Mater Dei High School") is a four-year Catholic coeducational high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades, located in the New Monmouth section of Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. Mater Dei is no longer part of St. Mary Parish and operates under the supervision of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton. The school is accredited by the Middle State Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools and is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). In February 2015, the pastor of St. Mary Parish announced that the school would be closing at the end of the 2014-15 school year, in the wake of chronic fiscal deficits. A few days after the announcement, it was disclosed that the Parish Finance Council had agreed to a two-month extension in order to raise the $1 million needed to remain open. Through the Seraph's Fund, and massive efforts by the student body, $1.5 million was raised in just six weeks, and the school managed to stay open.As of the 2019–20 school year, the school had an enrollment of 316 students and 28.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.9:1. The school's student body was 76.9% (243) White, 12.7% (40) Black, 5.7% (18) Hispanic and 4.7% (15) Asian.On May 9, 2022, it was announced that the school would be closing at the end of the school year due to a dramatic decline in enrollment.

Seabrook–Wilson House (also known as the Whitlock–Seabrook–Wilson Home and nicknamed the Spy House) is located in the town of Port Monmouth, a part of Middletown Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1663 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 29, 1974.

New Monmouth is an unincorporated community located within Middletown Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The area is served as United States Postal Service ZIP code 07748. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population for ZIP Code Tabulation Area 07748 was 28,030. In the 2000 Census, the ZCTA population was 28,689.The public New Monmouth Elementary School and the parochial Mater Dei High School are located in New Monmouth. Most of the area is suburban, with single-family houses dotting the landscape. The two major roads that pass through New Monmouth are County Route 516 (Cherry Tree Farm Road and Leonardville Road) and New Monmouth Road (CR 50).

Keansburg High School is a four-year comprehensive community public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades from Keansburg, in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Keansburg School District. The school is a candidate for accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 382 students and 32.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.6:1. There were 154 students (40.3% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 12 (3.1% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.KHS is located at 140 Port Monmouth Road. However, the school itself cannot be seen from Port Monmouth Road. The school is accessed via Titan Trail (the entrance road) into the parking lot. It is adjacent to Port Monmouth Road Elementary School (which should not be confused with Port Monmouth Elementary School in Port Monmouth), which was built well after the high school. One part of Port Monmouth Road Elementary School, once referred to as the "C-Wing," is slated to be returned for use for the high school following reconstruction. The reconstruction plans also plan to change the existing structure of the school district.

The district is one of 31 former Abbott districts statewide that were established pursuant to the decision by the New Jersey Supreme Court in Abbott v. Belford is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 1,768.

The Waackaack Rear Range Light was built in 1856 off the shore of Keansburg, in Monmouth county, New Jersey, United States. It stood about 96 feet (29 m) tall. Although it stood near the water's edge, it was the rear range light in conjunction with the Point Comfort Light on the beach. The light's main purpose was to guide vessels coming into the Raritan Bay. It was initially made of wood, but was replaced in the 1860s by an iron tower.
