Hämevaara

Pähkinärinne (Hasselbacken in Swedish) is a suburb in Western Vantaa, in Finland. It lies roughly between a pond named Lammaslampi and Vihdintie, former Helsinki-Pori main road. It lies near the border between Vantaa and both Helsinki and Espoo.There are basic services, for example, a comprehensive school for students from 1st to 6th forms, in Pähkinärinne. Pähkinärinne neighbours Hämeenvaara, Hämeenkylä, Linnainen, Rajatorppa and Varisto.Pähkinärinne is built in an area of beautiful nature, with the landmark being the pond, Lammaslampi. Lammaslampi is surrounded by well maintained path, and is thus a popular local destination for outdoor recreational activities. There are two grocery stores in Pähkinärinne. Around both. In these areas there are also a few bars, a pizza restaurant and two hair salons. A large part of the buildings i Pähkinärinne were built by Tapiola.The postal code of Pähkinärinne is 01710.

Veikkaus Oy was the Finnish national betting agency. It was fully owned by the Finnish government and had an exclusive legal betting license on lotteries and sports betting in Finland. Veikkaus was managed by the Finnish Ministry of Education, which shared money earned by Veikkaus with various organizations. In 2010 Veikkaus gave 462.7 million euros for the Ministry of Education to share. The rules of the games and gaming itself are controlled by the Finnish Ministry of Internal Affairs. On January 1, 2017 Veikkaus merged with RAY and Fintoto. The new company that was founded as a result is also called Veikkaus.

Karakallio (Finnish) or Karabacka (Swedish) is a district of Espoo, a city in Finland. The name "Karabacka" dates back at least as far as 1762, at which time the language of majority of the inhabitants was Swedish, and when the name occurs in connection with the "Karabacka Meadow" and also the "Karabacka Mountain". The origins of the name are nevertheless unclear. The Finnish-language version of the name began to be used for an urban development in the 1950s when development of the area was first discussed and planned.The district is characterized by highrise apartment blocks and a 1960s style shopping centre. The Mormon temple was dedicated in 2006.

Lintuvaara (Finnish) or Fågelberga (Swedish) is a district of Espoo, a city in Finland.Located by a forest, Lintuvaara is known as a quiet suburban area with most of the buildings there being either low density row houses or detached homes. The Leppävaara centre, a major traffic hub and the home to the Sello mall, is only a couple of kilometres to the south from Lintuvaara. Due to the close proximity of services and schools as well as sporting opportunities, Lintuvaara is known as a very kid-friendly neighbourhood and it has thus attracted many families to live there.

EVTEK University of Applied Sciences (formerly Espoo-Vantaa Institute of Technology or Espoon-Vantaan teknillinen ammattikorkeakoulu in Finnish, abbr. EVTEK) was one of Finland's applied science polytechnics. In August 2008, EVTEK University of Applied Sciences together with Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia merged into Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.EVTEK University of Applied Sciences offered degree programs in technology, business and art & design leading to either a bachelor's or master's degree.

The Helsinki Finland Temple (Finnish: Helsingin temppeli, Swedish: Templet i Helsingfors) is the 124th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Unlike the church's regular meetinghouses, where weekly worship services are held and visitors are welcome, the temple is open only to church members who hold a current temple recommend. Located at Leppäsillantie 3 in Espoo, the Helsinki Finland Temple has a total of 19,500 square feet (1,810 m2), two ordinance rooms, and four sealing rooms. It once served the church's largest geographical temple district, which included Finland, the Baltic states, and all of Russia. It was the final temple dedicated during the church presidency of Gordon B. Hinckley and the last dedicated by him.

Galleria is a shopping centre in the district of Leppävaara in Espoo, Finland. It is located north of the Turuntie highway in northern Leppävaara. The ground floor has a grocery store, a café and a restaurant, while the second floor has services for wellbeing, the largest of which being a health club and a dance centre.The shopping centre was completed in 1985 and was renovated from 2011 to 2012. The Läkkitori square in front of it was renovated from 2013 to 2015. After the square had been completed, it had gradually lost its forum-like nature as trade on it diminished. The square became a restless space and its surface became warped.The shopping centre was designed by architect Kalevi Ruokosuo. The ornamental building with its 40-metre illuminated mast was first met with resistance at the facade board of the city of Espoo. The building was originally designed as a merchant department store collectively owned by its merchants, and the businesses inside it were located next to each other without intermediate walls, like the departments in a department store. Original tenants in the ground floor included a grocery store with a surface area of one thousand square metres, a restaurant, a confectionery business, a plant shop and two bank offices. The second floor held businesses for special needs. The interior decoration used many plants and fountains.The site of the shopping centre originally hosted a paddock for horses during the Russian fortification for World War I from 1915 to 1917, followed by allotment gardens during World War II and a sports field after that. There is a plaque on the wall of the Leppävaara health centre commemorating the local history before the construction of the health centre and the shopping centre.The Sello mall was later built on the other side of the rails, which has significantly reduced the number of customers in Galleria. Several suggestions have been put forth for Galleria to be demolished and residential and commercial buildings to be built in its place. The city of Espoo started soliciting architectural proposals for the area in May 2022.

The Leppävaara tower is a high-rise building in Leppävaara, Espoo, Finland, located at Valurinkuja 2. The building is located right next to the Leppävaara railway station and the Sello shopping centre. The building is 68 metres tall and has 21 floors. It is the third highest residential building in Espoo after Niittyhuippu and Meritorni.

Sello (Finnish for cello) is a shopping mall in the Leppävaara, Espoo, Finland. The mall contains more than 170 shops and services including a concert hall and a library. The largest stores in the shopping center are Prisma, K-Citymarket, Power, Tokmanni, Halonen, H&M, and Intersport Megastore. The Sello is separated into three parts: the oldest part (finished in 2002), the second part (finished in 2005) and the newest part (finished in 2008). The oldest part of Sello has two hypermarkets, three banks, contains Espoo City's main library, a concert hall, gym, restaurants and cafes, pharmacy, an Alko and a music academy. The second part of Sello has many restaurants and smaller stores, and multiple sport stores such as Intersport and Stadium. Sello's third and newest part was designed to have a movie theater, several restaurants and a bowling alley. Sello also has a hotel named Hotel Sello, property of the Palace Kämp Group. It is served by Leppävaara bus station and Leppävaara railway station immediately to the north, with Ring I running just to the east. On 31 December 2009, five people were killed during a shooting spree in the mall.

The Sello mall shooting occurred on the morning of 31 December 2009 shortly after 10:08 local time at the Prisma hypermarket in Sello mall, located in the Leppävaara district of Espoo, Finland. Ibrahim Shkupolli, who was born in Yugoslavia but had lived in Finland for many years, shot three men and one woman who all worked at Prisma. Before the shooting, he had killed his ex-girlfriend at her home. After the shooting, Shkupolli left the mall and killed himself in his own apartment. The Sello mall, which opened in 2003, is the largest in the Nordic region with over 170 stores. On the day of the shooting the mall contained between two and three thousand customers. Witnesses described the gunman as calm when walking out of the grocery store in the mall immediately after the shooting.

Leppävaara station (Finnish: Leppävaaran rautatieasema, Swedish: Alberga järnvägsstation) is a railway station located in Leppävaara, a district of the city of Espoo in Finland. It is located about 11 kilometres (7 mi) to the northwest of Helsinki Central.
