Ballybough (Irish: An Baile Bocht, meaning 'the poor town') is an inner city district of northeast Dublin city, Ireland. Adjacent areas include the North Strand and Clonliffe.

Michael Barr (died 25 April 2016) was a 35-year-old Irishman who was shot dead in a pub in Dublin as part of the Hutch–Kinahan feud. Two people have been convicted of his murder.

Buckingham Street is a street in Dublin running from Summerhill to Amiens Street. It is divided into Buckingham Street Lower (south end) and Buckingham Street Upper (north end).

The Scots Presbyterian Church is a ruined former church on Seán McDermott Street (formerly Gloucester Street North or Gloucester Street Lower) in Dublin 1, Ireland. The church was designed in a Greek revival style by architect Duncan Campbell Ferguson and completed in 1846 at a cost of £1,800.The building operated as a Presbyterian church from 1846 until 1888 when the congregation was subsumed by the nearby Clontarf and Scots Presbyterian Church. The building continued to operate as a sometime church for various services until 1896, at which point the building began being used by the Salvation Army owing to its position in the centre of the Monto area of Dublin. In the early 1900s it was converted into a flour mill but its external appearance remained largely intact. It was operated by AW Ennis Limited until a fire in the 1980s forced the business to move to Virginia, County Cavan where it remains as of July 2020. It was subsequently used as a grain store.

The O’Connell School is a secondary and primary school for boys located on North Richmond Street in Dublin, Ireland. The school, named in honour of the leader of Catholic Emancipation, Daniel O’Connell, has the distinction of being the oldest surviving Christian Brothers school in Dublin, having been first established in 1829. It is now under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust. The school offers the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate programmes.

Aldborough House (sometimes Aldboro House) is a landmark Georgian building in Dublin, Ireland. Built as a private residence by 1795, the original structure included a chapel (since lost) and a theatre wing. The house was used for periods as a school, barracks and post office depot, before becoming vacant in the early 21st century. While vacant, the building was subject to vandalism and a fire, was listed by An Taisce - The National Trust for Ireland as in poor condition, and included in its 2021 list of 'Top 10 Most-at-Risk' buildings nationally.

Free Church, Great Charles Street, Dublin was a proprietary episcopal chapel in Summerhill, off Mountjoy Square in Dublin. Built by Methodists, in 1800, designed by architect Edward Robbins, and initially known as the Wesley Chapel. Following a schism in the congregation in 1816, a group called the Primitive Wesleyan Methodists split from the Methodist Church, it became known as the free church. Due to the free church being too large for their numbers, the Primitive Wesleyan Methodists opened a new Chapel nearby in Langrishe Place, Summerhill, in 1825.The Free Church was used by the Anglican congregation from the nearby St. George's Church, Dublin while it was being constructed.It was reconsecrated a church within the Anglican Community on 4 May 1828 by Archbishop Magee. The landlord, the Methodist printer (who was treasurer of the Primitive Methodist Society Home Mission) R. Bennett Dugdale(1756-1826), wanted to prevent it becoming a Catholic church, and sold it in 1826, to the Church of Ireland. After this it was sometimes referred to as the Free Episcopal Chapel, Great Charles St.. Rev. John Hare was Chaplain, assisted by the organist the Rev. Richard William Beaty, from 1828 until 1877, he was succeeded by his pupil Richard Harrison. Rev. Oswald Garrow Fischer BA, who served as chaplain to the forces was attached to the Free Church for a time, as was Rev. Ernest Fischer who was Chaplain. C.R.R. Magrath who preached at and was Honorary Secretary of the Free Church (Dublin) wrote a short history of the church. It served as a chapel of ease for St. George's Church, Dublin during its popularity in the early 20th century. It closed as a church in 1988. It was refurbished and adapted around 1990 becoming Pavee Point, for use as Dublin Travellers' Education and Development Group.

Seán McDermott Street is a street in northeast Dublin, Ireland. It is divided into Seán McDermott Street Lower (east end) and Seán McDermott Street Upper (west end).Located in the north inner city, it runs west-east as an extension of Cathal Brugha Street, for about 530 metres (1⁄3 mile) until it intersects with Buckingham Street.

Monto was the nickname for the one-time red light district in the northeast of Dublin, Ireland. Monto was roughly the area bounded by Talbot Street, Amiens Street, Gardiner Street and Seán McDermott Street (formerly Gloucester Street) in what would now be called Summerhill. The name is derived from Montgomery Street (now called Foley Street), which runs parallel to the lower end of Talbot Street towards what is now Connolly Station. Montgomery Street is believed to have been named after Elizabeth Montgomery, who was married to Luke Gardiner, 1st Viscount Mountjoy.

The 2009 All-Ireland Football Final was the 122nd event of its kind. Played between Cork and Kerry on 20 September 2009 in Croke Park, Dublin, it was the last football match of the 2009 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Kerry won by a score of 0–16 to 1–09. It was their 36th All-Ireland SFC title, reaffirming their status as Gaelic football's most successful county.In playing for the winning team, Tadhg Kennelly became the first person to ever hold AFL Premiership and All-Ireland winning medals in the sports of Australian rules football and Gaelic football—he previously won the biggest prize in Australian rules with Sydney Swans in 2005. Kennelly's former coach Paul Roos and some of his former Sydney teammates attended the game. The game was also attended by international guests of the Global Irish Economic Forum which was taking place in Dublin on the same weekend.The game was televised nationally by RTÉ Two, online by RTÉ.ie and internationally by RTÉ Radio 1, with match highlights being shown on The Sunday Game on RTÉ Two and RTÉ.ie that night. RTÉ's coverage for the first time ever involved live pictures of its broadcaster Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh's commentary as given to RTÉ Radio 1 during the match; he appeared on The Late Late Show to discuss this with Ryan Tubridy.

Foley Street is a street in Dublin running from James Joyce Street to Buckingham Street Lower. It was formerly known as Worlds End Lane and Montgomery Street.

The GAA Hall of Fame is the hall of fame for Gaelic games in Ireland. The hall opened in the Cusack Stand, Croke Park, Dublin, on 11 February 2013, with 32 inaugural inductees.
