Nanny Goat Hill is a hill located on the west side of Downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The hill is characterized by an escarpment that forms the north-western side of the hill, overlooking LeBreton Flats. The escarpment runs roughly from the corner of Booth and Spruce Streets in the west to the corner of Bronson Avenue and Slater Street in the north. The highest point on the hill is 81m above sea level, at the corner of Primrose Avenue and Arthur Street, close to Dominican University College which overlooks the escarpment. Much of Ottawa's Chinatown is located on the south side of the hill. Its business association's former name, "Somerset Heights" was an allusion to the hill. The name "Nanny Goat" is said to have begun to be applied as a nickname for the hill in the 19th Century, as its escarpment was so steep that only nanny goats could climb it. Another origin story cites that it was named after goats that pastured there.The hill's steep limestone escarpment has been cited as a reason why Downtown Ottawa was spared from the 1900 Hull–Ottawa fire, which damaged more of the city to its west.

Since 2012, Dominican University College has been an affiliated college of Carleton University.Founded in 1900 and granted a civil university charter in 1967, Dominican University College is modelled on the houses of studies of the Order of Preachers and was originally the centre of graduate studies for Canadian Dominicans. Today, Dominican offers civil and pontifical bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in philosophy and theology.

Centretown West is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It lies to the west of Bronson Avenue, east of the O-Train Trillium Line, north of Carling Avenue, and south of Nanny Goat Hill , which is an escarpment to the north of Somerset Street West. To the east lies Centretown, to the north lies Lebreton Flats, to the west lies Hintonburg, and to the south lies Dow's Lake. Much of the neighbourhood makes up what is also called Dalhousie. Centretown West is composed largely of low-density residential commercial properties, and some light industrial uses. Somerset Street West is dominated by Chinese and Vietnamese businesses, and it is considered to be Ottawa's Chinatown. It also retains a large Italian-Canadian population in Little Italy centred on Preston Street, which is also called "Corso Italia". A portion of Gladstone Avenue is also called "Via Marconi", after the Italian inventor who completed some of his work in Canada. Its population in 2011 was 10,693.

The Bronson Centre is a community facility in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, which provides office and meeting facilities for non-profit organizations. It is located at 211 Bronson Avenue, on the western edge of the city's downtown core. The building was the original site of Immaculata High School, which was originally constructed in 1928 and expanded several times until the school relocated in 1994. The Grey Sisters religious order, owners of the building, spent CA$400,000 to transform the building into office space and other community facilities. The facility reopened as the Bronson Centre in 1996, operating under a non-profit administration.

The Rideau Curling Club is a curling facility and organization located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1888, the Rideau Curling Club maintains a rivalry with the Ottawa Curling Club.

Ādisōke is the name of an upcoming joint facility between the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) and Library and Archives Canada (LAC). The OPL and LAC Joint Facility project's goal is to bring together the extensive collections of both institutions into one centre. It includes a series of community and creative spaces that aim to appeal to all residents and visitors of Ottawa. The official name and branding for the facility was released in October 2023.

St. Anthony of Padua is a Roman Catholic church at 427 Booth Street in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, in the heart of Little Italy.

Ottawa Technical High School, known as Ottawa Tech, was a high school in Ottawa, Canada that specialized in vocational programs. The school opened in 1913 as the second public secondary school in Ottawa, and closed in 1992. It was located on Albert Street in the western part of downtown Ottawa.

Dundonald Park is located in the Centretown neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It occupies a city block, with Somerset Street West to the north, Bay Street to the west, MacLaren Street to the south, and Lyon Street to the east. It was named after Douglas Cochrane, 12th Earl of Dundonald, who was the last British officer to command the Canadian militia. In June 2003, the City of Ottawa and in April 2004, the Canadian federal government put up memorial plaques in Dundonald Park commemorating the Soviet defector, Igor Gouzenko. It was from this park that Royal Canadian Mounted Police agents monitored Gouzenko's apartment across the street on the night men from the Soviet embassy came looking for Gouzenko.

The Fleet Street Pumping Station is a historic water pumping station in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is west of downtown in the LeBreton Flats area, near the new Canadian War Museum. The building was opened in 1875 as Ottawa's first pumping station (PS) and pumped unfiltered water from the Ottawa River into the city's new water distribution system. The station was designed by Thomas Keefer, who designed water systems for many cities in Canada. It has been expanded several times since its construction. Ottawa now has two Water Purification Plants: one on Lemieux Island opened in 1922, and one at Britannia, which opened in 1961. These two plants produce 275 million litres of water every day. The Fleet Street PS still plays an important role in the city's water distribution system. The pumping station, designated as heritage in 1982 under the Ontario Heritage Act, uses hydraulic power to pump water and is the only one of its kind in Canada still in operation. In 1981 it was recognized by the AWWA with the American/Canadian/Mexican Landmarks Award. The discharge from the PS provides a class 2 whitewater site used by canoe and kayak enthusiasts.

Pimisi is a light rail station on the Ottawa Confederation Line as part of the O-Train network.
