Avon-by-the-Sea (often called simply Avon; pronunciation: , AH-von) is a borough in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 1,933, an increase of 32 (+1.7%) from the 2010 census count of 1,901, which in turn reflected a decline of 343 (−15.3%) from the 2,244 counted in the 2000 census.Avon-by-the-Sea was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 23, 1900, from portions of Neptune City. The borough was named for Avon, England, or for the Avon Inn, a hotel constructed in 1883.

Shark River Draw is a moveable bridge over the Shark River Inlet, an inlet at the mouth of the Shark River in the towns of Belmar and Avon-by-the-Sea Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, just west of the Atlantic Ocean.The bascule bridge, built in 1937, carries NJ Transit Rail Operations North Jersey Coast Line between the Bradley Beach and Belmar stations. The bridge was built in 1937 by the New York and Long Branch Railroad. It underwent a major 5-stage rehabilitation in 2013–2014.The drawbridge runs parallel and downstream to the fixed crossing of the New Jersey Route 35 and upstream of the moveable crossing of New Jersey Route 71 bridge to the east, together with which it is subject to the opening regulations as set out in Title 33 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

As of the 2021–22 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 1,212 students and 97.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.5:1.The district also provides students with the opportunities to attend other high schools, including the Monmouth County Vocational School District Academies which include: the Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST) located on Sandy Hook, High Technology High School located on the campus of Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, the Academy of Allied Health & Science in Neptune Township and affiliated with the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, the Communications High School located on the property of Wall High School, and the new Biotechnology High School located in Freehold Township. Students also have the opportunity to attend the Performing Arts Program at Red Bank Regional High School for Performing Arts in Little Silver or the Academy of Information Technology and the Academy of Finance both located at the Red Bank Regional High School.

St. Rose High School is a co-educational four-year Catholic high school in Belmar, in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The school operates under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton. The school was founded in 1923 by the Parish of St. Rose and the Sisters of St. Joseph.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 382 students and 39.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.8:1. Belmar is a borough situated on the Jersey Shore, within Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 5,907, an increase of 113 (+2.0%) from the 2010 census count of 5,794, which in turn reflected a decline of 251 (−4.2%) from the 6,045 counted in the 2000 census.What is now Belmar was originally incorporated as Ocean Beach borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 9, 1885, from portions of Wall Township, based on the results of a referendum held two days earlier. On April 16, 1889, it became the City of Elcho borough, which lasted for a few weeks until the name was changed to the City of Belmar Borough on May 14, 1889. The city acquired its current name, Borough of Belmar, on November 20, 1890. The borough's name means "beautiful sea" in Italian.

The Belmar Public Library is the public library of Belmar, New Jersey located at 517 10th Avenue. The library circulates about 15,000 items annually from its collection of 32,000 volumes. The Jersey Shore town in 2010 had year-round population of about 6,000. The library is one of New Jersey's original thirty-six Carnegie libraries. The library is located at the corner of E Street and 10th Avenue in Belmar, two names later made famous by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and resulting in a large replica of Springsteen's Fender Esquire guitar being placed there.

Belmar is a commuter rail station in the borough of Belmar, Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States on New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line. The station is not accessible for those with disabilities as part of the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990.

The Shark River Inlet is an inlet that connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Shark River, located entirely in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The Shark River Inlet acts as a border between the towns of Belmar and Avon-by-the-Sea at the Atlantic Ocean. The Shark River Inlet is the only river inlet exclusively in Monmouth County that drains directly into the Atlantic Ocean; the Shrewsbury and Navesink rivers drain into Sandy Hook Bay (part of the much larger Lower New York Bay), and the Manasquan River is shared with Ocean County. The inlet provides access to a marina where commercial, charter, and private fishing boats are moored.

The Belmar School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Belmar, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States.The district also serves students from Lake Como who attend as part of a sending/receiving relationship. The school was constructed in 1909 and has had additions built in 1929, 1949, 1969 and 1993. There are 61 certified staff members, including the district's administrators, teachers, nurses and child study team personnel, with an additional 12 paraprofessionals. Bradley Beach is a borough in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 4,282, a decrease of 16 (−0.4%) from the 2010 census count of 4,298, which in turn reflected a decrease of 495 (−10.3%) from the 4,793 counted in the 2000 census. The summer population can reach 30,000.
