Westhill High School (Connecticut)

Westover is an affluent section of Stamford, Connecticut, United States. With a median household income of $186,607, it is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the city, along with Shippan Point and North Stamford. The neighborhood is bordered by Mianus River State Park to the west, the Merritt Parkway to the north, Stillwater Road to the east, and Palmer Hill Road to the south. The neighborhood contains a mix of pre-war estates and large homes, as well as more modest homes.

The Fort Stamford Site, site of Fort Stamford, is a public park at 900 Westover Road in the Westover neighborhood of Stamford, Connecticut. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It is the site of the archaeological remnants of a military earthworks erected during the American Revolutionary War. The fort's location gave a clear view of the Mianus River and Long Island Sound.

The John Knap House, also known as Samuel Knap House, is a historic house at 984 Stillwater Road in Stamford, Connecticut. The house is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, five bays wide, with a large central chimney. It was built c. 1705 by a Capt. John Knap and was owned by his son, Lt. John Knap. The house was bought from the Lt. John Knap's estate by his son Samuel Knap in 1765. It is believed to be the second oldest house in Stamford.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Academy of Information Technology and Engineering (AITE) is a college preparatory, inter-district public magnet high school based in Stamford, Connecticut. AITE serves the Connecticut communities of Stamford, Darien, Greenwich, Norwalk, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Wilton and Weston.

Treetops is the former estate of torch singer and actress Libby Holman. It forms the southernmost part of Mianus River Park and is overseen by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection as the Mianus River State Park. In 2001, a successful effort was made by local citizens to save the estate from development. As a result, 94 acres of pristine grounds were preserved as a state park, with a further 11 acres around the Treetops mansion covered by a conservation easement. Many rooms in Holman's mansion have been restored by its current owners. These include the studio of Holman's third husband, abstract artist Louis Schanker, where the Treetops Chamber Music Society performed its annual concert series in 2006.

The German School of Connecticut or GSC is a private, non-profit Saturday school founded in 1978 with a student body of 350. A professional teaching staff, most of whom are native German speakers, provide three contact hours on each of thirty Saturdays during the traditional September - May school year. Classes are held on two campuses: Stamford and West Hartford, for ages ranging from preschool to high school as well as adults. Students learn, improve or maintain German language skills while celebrating German, Austrian and Swiss cultures. In 1982, it was the first German language school in the United States to be selected by the German Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs and Central Agency for Schools Abroad (Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen) to administer the official Sprachdiplom I examination, and the following year added the Sprachdiplom II. These annual exams test the equivalence of ten and twelve years of German language study, equalling proficiency on the B1/A2 and C1/B2 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, respectively. The school receives support from the German government, as well as local businesses and donors. In 2009, the school became one of the 66 US partner schools with the German government in the PASCH program. It is a member of the World Association of German Schools Abroad German: Weltverband Deutsche Auslandsschulen and also a founding member of the German Language School Conference.

The Josiah Wilcox House is a historic house at 354 Riversville Road in Greenwich, Connecticut. Built in 1838, it is one of the town's finest examples of Greek Revival architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Turn-of-River Bridge, also known as Old North Stamford Road Bridge, is a single-span lenticular pony truss bridge built by the Berlin Iron Bridge Company in 1892. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. It formerly brought the Old Stamford Road across the Rippowam River, but is now open only to pedestrian traffic, as the road ends shortly before the bridge. The bridge uses the design patented by William O. Douglas in 1878 for a lens-type truss bridge, and is built out of wrought and cast iron, with pin connections, and has a concrete deck. It rests on stone abutments, and has a total span of 53 feet (16 m). It is one of only about twenty lenticular truss bridges remaining in the state. It is now open only to pedestrian traffic.

Ridgeway Shopping Center is a 365,411 sq ft (33,947.8 m2) shopping center in Stamford, Connecticut, now classifying as a power center but when first opened in 1947, the first department store-anchored suburban shopping center in the Eastern United States.Stamford designer and architect Alfons Bach planned the initial section of the center in 1946, which opened on March 26, 1947, with 110,000 sq ft (10,000 m2) of retail space on a 20,000-square-foot (1,900 m2) parcel. Initial tenants included W.J. Sloan Home Furnishings (October 1948), Pennsylvania Drug (May 1949), Deena's, The Lurie Company, Chizzini and a Slenderella Figure Salon.In 1951, Bach added a three-story office tower and a Sears department store. A six-story office building was added in 1956.In 1958, in a third expansion of the center, Gimbel Bros. opened a branch of Saks-34th, which briefly formed a small 4-store chain, positioned as an upper-middle-market, yet more value-conscious sibling of Saks Fifth Avenue. Its addition to the center made Ridgeway the largest retail center in Connecticut. By 1960, when the center was sold fo $5 million, it had 367,000 sq ft (34,100 m2) of gross leasable area and parking for 1000 cars.When Gimbel Bros. closed the New York City Saks 34th Street flagship store in July 1965, the three Saks-34th branches including Stamford were converted to Gimbels branches.Anchors as of June 2023 were Burlington (taking over the space of the Bed Bath & Beyond that had closed earlier in 2023), Michaels, Marshalls, Old Navy, and a Stop & Shop supermarket.

St. John Fisher Seminary Residence is sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Men between the ages of eighteen and forty live at the Seminary while studying subjects based on a liberal arts curriculum, especially philosophy and classical languages, in preparation for graduate theological studies outside of the Diocese. St. John Fisher seminarians are formed to be faithful, perceptive, and well-balanced men. The formation experience at the Seminary is meant to leave an imprint on conscience, character, and manners; it is meant to develop style and to nourish action. The Seminary opened in 1989. During the intervening years, the last two bishops of the Diocese of Bridgeport have appointed the five rectors who have served the seminary community. The average time spent at St. John Fisher Seminary depends on the academic status of the seminarian. This can be anywhere from one to five years. St. John Fisher is located on Newfield Avenue in Stamford, Connecticut. It is located on the campus of Trinity Catholic High School. The residence was originally located in Trumbull, Connecticut until the current larger building became available.

Trinity Catholic High School was a regional, coeducational Catholic school for grades 9-12 located in Stamford, Connecticut. The school closed at the end of the 2019–2020 academic year. It served parts of Fairfield County, Connecticut and Westchester County, New York. The school was a member of the FCIAC athletic conference. Trinity Catholic was accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. and the Connecticut Department of Education. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport. The school is situated on a 26-acre (110,000 m2) campus at 926 Newfield Avenue. The school had an initial capacity of approximately 1,200 students, however, due to cost concerns and the demand for smaller student to faculty ratios, has since reduced its enrollment in order to set itself apart from other schools. It was originally known as Stamford Catholic High School, but after other local Catholic Schools closed, was grouped with remaining students to create Trinity Catholic High School. On February 27, 2020, the Most Reverend Frank J. Caggiano, Bishop of Bridgeport, announced that Trinity Catholic High School would not reopen its doors for the 2020–21 academic year due to enrollment and budget issues.
