Old Beach is surrounded by an abundance of green mountainous terrain. At the heart of Old Beach is an old mining quarry, active in the late 1980s for the mining of sandstone, and providing and economic boost for the area.

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is a 9.7-hectare (24-acre) wildlife sanctuary located in Brighton, Tasmania, Australia. Dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and preservation of native Australian animals, Bonorong actively participates in various conservation projects, contributes to breeding programs, research initiatives, and advocacy for the protection of Tasmania's wildlife. The sanctuary works closely with government agencies, research institutions, and other conservation organisations to make a positive impact on native animal populations. In 2015, the sanctuary received 66,000 visitors.

Established at Claremont, Tasmania in 1921, the factory and surrounding model village estate marked Cadbury's first business expansion outside the United Kingdom. Cadbury's Claremont is currently owned by the multinational conglomerate Mondelēz International, which purchased Cadbury in 2010.
