Cultural Center station

The Fifth Regiment Armory is a historic National Guard armory located in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is an imposing, fortress-type structure situated in midtown Baltimore. It consists of a full basement, a first floor containing a 200 foot by 300 foot drill hall, a mezzanine or "balcony" level, and a newer second level (reconstructed in 1933 after a fire) housing the trussed steel drill hall roof. The façade features buttresses, parapets, casement windows, and a crenellated roofline, giving the appearance of a medieval fortification. It was the site of the 1912 Democratic National Convention. The Fifth Regiment Armory was designed by architects Wyatt & Nolting. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is included within the Baltimore National Heritage Area.On October 31, 1958, President Dwight Eisenhower delivered a televised speech from the Fifth Regiment Armory. The event, promoting Republican Party candidates in that year's midterm elections, was attended by Maryland Governor Theodore McKeldin, Senator John Glenn Beall, Jr., Senator John Marshall Butler, and Congressman James Devereux.

State Center / Cultural Center station is an underground Metro SubwayLink station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is a transit hub offering connections to Light RailLink, the tenth most northern and western station on the line, the first one in the area viewed by many as "downtown Baltimore," and is within a 2 block walk of the Cultural Center / State Center station on the Baltimore Light Rail via Preston Street, and many area landmarks. The stations elevator and escalator entrance is located on the corner of West Preston Street and North Eutaw Street which is directly adjacent to the Maryland States Office Complex, hence the name "State Center." It is within the boundaries of the Madison Park neighborhood and is also very close to the adjacent neighborhoods of Bolton Hill, Mid-Town Belvedere, Mount Vernon, and Seton Hill.

Previous secretaries have included Dennis R. Schrader, Robert R. Neall, Joshua Sharfstein, and Georges C. Benjamin.

Cecil Apartments is a historic apartment building in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a seven-story building constructed of multiple shades of light-colored brick, accented with limestone and cast terra cotta ornament in the Beaux-Arts style. The structure takes the form of a "T". Constructed in 1902, it was one of the first important apartment buildings in Baltimore, built at the edge of the city's most elite downtown neighborhood, Bolton Hill. It was designed by Baltimore architect Edward Hughes Glidden, and it marked the evolution of elite living that had come to characterize the Bolton Hill neighborhood. Despite the apartments' location often being referred to as Bolton Hill, it is actually within the boundaries of the adjacent Madison Park neighborhood.Cecil Apartments was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus (formerly Maryland General Hospital) is a hospital in the downtown area of Baltimore, Maryland. The hospital was founded for teaching purposes in 1881 by a group of local doctors. The hospital has been affiliated with the University of Maryland Medical System since 1999, and has over 1,400 employees and 500 doctors, covering 30 different specialties. Originally known as the Baltimore Medical College, it affiliated with the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1911. An affiliation with the Baltimore Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital began in 1965. The hospital became part of the University of Maryland Medical System in 1999.Maryland General opened its own nursing school in 1893. The last class of the Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing graduated in January 1987, when the hospital's nursing school closed. The Obstetrics Service at Maryland General was discontinued effective June 30, 2013, due to declining volumes, despite a reputation for outstanding clinical outcomes. It was recently named one of Solucient's "100 most improved Hospitals." On June 6, 2013, Maryland General Hospital was renamed "University of Maryland Medical Center, Midtown Campus".

Corner Theatre E.T.C. (Corner Theatre) was an experimental theater located in Baltimore, Maryland, existing from 1968 to 1987 as a nonprofit cultural organization. The theater provided resources for new playwrights, designers, directors, actors, dancers, and other artists seeking experimental avenues for self-expression and social and political commentary. Throughout its nineteen-year existence, Corner Theatre was dedicated to presenting new and original plays, while encouraging a confrontational approach to production.

The Pride Center of Maryland, formerly the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center of Baltimore and Central Maryland, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender population of Baltimore and the Baltimore metropolitan area, located at 2530 North Charles Street on the third floor in Baltimore.

The Mount Royal Station is a historic building in Baltimore, Maryland, which was the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's third train station in Baltimore, Maryland, and is now part of the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) campus. The station was at the north end of the Baltimore Belt Line's Howard Street tunnel in the Bolton Hill neighborhood. It was the first railroad station in the world to have electrified passenger trains when it opened on September 1, 1896, serving the B&O's famed Royal Blue line. Following its closure as a railroad station in 1961, it became part of the Maryland Institute College of Art, where it now houses the Middendorf Gallery, as well as studio and classroom space for the university's sculpture and fiber departments.

The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) is a private art and design college in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1826 as the Maryland Institute for the Promotion of the Mechanic Arts, it is regarded as one of the oldest art colleges in the United States.MICA is a member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD), a consortium of 36 leading US art schools, as well as the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). The college hosts pre-college, post-baccalaureate, continuing studies, Master of Fine Arts, and Bachelor of Fine Arts programs, as well as young peoples' studio art classes.

Mount Calvary Church is a Catholic parish located in the Seton Hill neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. The church was founded in 1842 as a mission congregation within the Episcopal Church and is now a community within the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter of the Catholic Church.
