Old Northside Historic District

The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, previously known as the Benjamin Harrison Home, is the former home of the 23rd president of the United States, Benjamin Harrison. It is in the Old Northside Historic District of Indianapolis, Indiana. Harrison's 16-room house was built from 1874 to 1875. It was from the front porch of the house that Harrison instituted his famous Front Porch Campaign in the 1888 United States presidential campaign, often speaking to crowds on the street. In 1896, Harrison renovated the house and added electricity. He died there in a second-story bedroom in 1901. Today it is owned by the Arthur Jordan Foundation and operated as a museum to the former president by the Benjamin Harrison Foundation.

Pierson–Griffiths House, also known as the Kemper House, is a historic home located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1873, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, rectangular, five bay frame dwelling on a low brick foundation. It has elements of Greek Revival and Second Empire style architecture. It features a full-width front porch with grouped columns and a low hipped roof with decorative cut wood cresting around the perimeter.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Wyndham is a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1929, and is a seven-story, four bay wide, Tudor Revival style multicolor brick building. It features a recessed central entrance with pointed limestone arch, intricately detailed oriel window at the second and third floors, and a parapet with four blind trefoil arches.: Part 3, p. 9–10 By the time the current owner, Pearl Companies, bought the building for $1.4 million in 2015, the building had deteriorated to the point that it was almost vacant. Pearl spent $5.7 million for renovations. Originally the building contained 48 apartments, which Pearl reduced to 37 to increase the floor space for each unit. The doorways for the former units, as well as other interior details, were retained.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Calvin I. Fletcher House is a historic home located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1895, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, Queen Anne style brick dwelling on a limestone foundation. It has an elaborate hipped roof with gabled dormers. It features an eight-sided corner tower with pointed arched windows on each side. Also on the property is a contributing carriage house.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Propylaeum, also known as the John W. Schmidt House or as the Schmidt-Schaf House, is a historic home and carriage house located at 1410 North Delaware Street in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. The Propylaeum was named after the Greek word "propýlaion," meaning "gateway to higher culture." The property became the headquarters for the Indianapolis Woman's Club in 1923, as well as the host for several other social and cultural organizations. It was initially built in 1890-1891 as a private residence for John William Schmidt, president of the Indianapolis Brewing Company, and his family. Joseph C. Schaf, president of the American Brewing Company of Indianapolis, and his family were subsequent owners of the home. The Indianapolis Propylaeum association, formed in 1888 as a joint stock company of women, continues to manage the site as a gathering place and rental facility for cultural activities and private events. The three-story, Neo-Jacobean-style building is constructed of red brick with limestone trim. It sits on a full basement and has hipped roof of slate with several gables. The main features of its exterior include a wraparound verandah, square tower, and porte-cochère. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as "The Propylaeum (John W. Schmidt House)" in 1973. The Indiana Historical Bureau erected a state historical marker at the site in 1999.

Delaware Court is a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1917, and is a two-story, E-shaped, Tudor Revival style red brick and grey limestone building on a raised basement. It features a flattened Tudor arched entrance, stepped gables and limestone plaques with heraldic escutcheons.: Part 2, p. 38–39 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is located in the St. Joseph Neighborhood Historic District.

The Chadwick was a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1925 (1925), and was a three-story, five-bay, I-shaped, Georgian Revival style buff brick building with limestone detailing. It featured Tuscan order engaged columns at the entrance.: Part 2, p. 44–46  It was destroyed by fire in January 2011.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and delisted in 2011.

Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located at Fourteenth and Meridian Streets in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, and of the Archbishop of Indianapolis, most recently Archbishop Charles C. Thompson. Silas Chatard, the first Bishop of Indianapolis, established the cathedral parish in 1892, and named it after Saint Peter and Saint Paul, two apostles of Christ. The cathedral parish became known for its liturgical celebrations and sacred music performances. The architectural firm of Renwick, Aspinwall and Russell, W. L. Coulter of New York designed the Classical Revival-style cathedral, adjacent chapel, and bishop's residence (rectory). The cathedral complex was built in stages. The rectory and chapel were completed in 1892. The cathedral and a temporary facade were built between 1905 and 1907; the permanent facade was erected in 1936. The high altar of the unfinished cathedral was consecrated on December 21, 1906. William Whetten Renwick, nephew of American architect James Renwick Jr., was responsible for the cathedral project and designed its original interior decoration. The Indianapolis architectural firm of D. A. Bohlen and Son was local supervisor for construction of the chapel, rectory, and cathedral, and also designed some of the interior furnishings. August Bohlen supervised construction of the permanent facade.

The Archdiocese of Indianapolis (Latin: Archidioecesis Indianapolitana) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in Indiana in the United States. When it was originally erected as the Diocese of Vincennes on May 6, 1834, it encompassed all of Indiana as well as the eastern third of Illinois. It was renamed the Diocese of Indianapolis on March 28, 1898. Bishop Francis Chatard became the first bishop of Indianapolis. It was elevated from a diocese to a metropolitan archdiocese on October 21, 1944.As of the 2000 census, the archdiocese contained 2,430,606 people, 233,273 of whom were Catholic. The archdiocese covers 39 counties in central and southern Indiana, with a total area of 13,757 square miles. Charles Thompson has been the archbishop of Indianapolis since 2017.

Sheffield Inn, also known as the Sheffield Apartments, is a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1927, and is a two-story, I-shaped Tudor Revival style masonry building. It features a multi-gabled slate roof with 2+1⁄2-story projecting gabled pavilion, decorative chimney, banks of leaded glass windows, and decorative half-timbering. The building was originally designed as a residential hotel and remodeled in 1971. It is located immediately next to the Manchester Apartments.: 5–6 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

St. Joseph Neighborhood Historic District is a national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The district encompasses 57 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Indianapolis. It was developed between about 1855 and 1930, and include representative examples of Italianate and Queen Anne style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed Bals-Wocher House, William Buschmann Block, Delaware Court, Pearson Terrace, and The Spink. Other notable buildings include the Christian Place complex, Fishback-Vonnegut-New House, Henry Hilker House, Apollo-Aurora Rowhouses, Israel Traub Store (c. 1865), and Lorenzo Moody House.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Pearson Terrace is a historic rowhouse block in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1901–1902, and is a two-story, seven unit, vernacular Queen Anne style grey brick row with limestone trim. It sits on a raised basement and has a complex gable roof. It features a projecting two bay center unit and projecting window bay.: 2–5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is in the St. Joseph Neighborhood Historic District.
