Banghwa-dong

Banghwa Station is a subway station on Line 5 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway, located in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. It is the western terminus of Line 5.

The National Institute of Korean Language (NIKL; Korean: 국립국어원) is a language regulator of the Korean language based in Seoul, South Korea. It was created on January 23, 1991, by Presidential Decree No. 13163 (November 14, 1990).It has previously gone by a number of names, including the Academy of the Korean Language (국어연구소) when it was first founded as a non-government organization in 1984, and the National Academy of the Korean Language (국립국어연구원) when it became a government agency in 1991. It received its current Korean name in 2004 and its current English name in 2015.Within the NIKL is the Center for Teaching and Learning Korean.

Gaehwasan Station is a subway station on Seoul Subway Line 5 in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. Its name comes from the nearby Gaehwasan mountain.

Songjeong Station is a station on Seoul Subway Line 5 in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

Gaehwa Station is the only elevated station and western terminus of Seoul Subway Line 9. It is located near the border of Gimpo. It houses the headquarters of the Seoul Metro Line 9 Corporation.

On 14 September 1986, a bomb blast at Gimpo International Airport, the then-main airport serving Seoul in South Korea, killed five people and injured around 30 others. All the victims were South Koreans.Officials blamed agents acting on behalf of the government of North Korea for the attack. It took place just six days before the start of the 1986 Asian Games hosted by Seoul. National Police Director Kang Min Chang said North Korea performed the terrorist attack in an attempt to disrupt the Asian Games. He also said the attack was similar to the Rangoon bombing in 1983 when dozens of South Koreans lost their lives.These bombings, including that of Korean Air Flight 858 in 1987, caused the South Korean government to apply massive security measures for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul.

The Banghwa Bridge crosses the Han River in South Korea and connects the Gangseo-gu in Seoul and Goyang in Gyeonggi Province. The bridge is a part of the Incheon International Airport Expressway. At over 2.5 km in length, it is the longest bridge to cross the Han River. Though mostly a girder bridge, the middle 540m section is an arch truss, resembling the shape of an airplane taking off.

Magongnaru Station is a railway station on Seoul Subway Line 9 and AREX. It was opened later than other stations on both lines because of the lack of development in the surrounding area.

Gimpo International Airport Station is a subway, railway and light rail station on the Seoul Subway Line 5 and Line 9 and AREX and Gimpo Goldline. True to its name, it serves the nearby Gimpo Airport, the hub of domestic flights in the Seoul metropolitan area as well as limited flights to/from China, Japan, and Taiwan. Upon its opening in 1996, it became the first railway station in the Korean Peninsula to directly serve an airport.

Magok Station is a subway station of Seoul Subway Line 5. It was opened in 2008, much later than the rest of Line 5, because the area underwent a significant redevelopment transforming a previously largely residential area into a completely new core city with the headquarters and R&D centers of major multinationals such as LG and Lotte, Seoul's first botanic garden, a major Ewha Womans University hospital and large apartment complexes.Initially opened with only one exit, the station now features seven exits and is right next to a major BRT bus stop.
