St. John's Lodge No. 1 A.Y.M. in New York City, United States, is the oldest operating Masonic Lodge under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of New York Free and Accepted Masons. The lodge was originally warranted as St. John's Lodge No. 2 on December 7, 1757 by George Harison, Esq. of the Provincial Grand Lodge of New York under the Grand Lodge of England (Moderns).

Manhattan Village Academy (MVA) is a small, public high school located in the Flatiron District, New York City. It consists of grades 9–12 with an enrollment of 461 students. The school is part of the New York City Department of Education. The school was founded by veteran educator Mary Butz in 1993. The administration is currently headed by principal Christina White.

The National Committee on United States China Relations (NCUSCR) is a nonprofit organization and advisory body founded in 1966 to encourage understanding and cooperation between the United States and China. Since 1966, the committee has conducted exchanges, educational and policy activities in areas of politics and security, education, governance and civil society, economic cooperation, media and transnational issues, addressing these topics with respect to Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. National Committee exchanges and conferences bring together leaders in a range of fields from both sides of the Pacific, and promotes dialogue, engagement, and decision-making across a range of disciplines. The committee's membership consists of American citizens, corporations and professional firms representing many viewpoints, but share the belief that productive U.S.-China relations require ongoing public education, face-to-face contact and exchange of ideas. The committee's Chinese name is (simplified Chinese: 美中关系全国委员会; traditional Chinese: 美中關係全國委員會; pinyin: Měi zhōng guānxì quánguó wěiyuánhuì).

23rd Street is a broad thoroughfare in the New York City borough of Manhattan, one of the major two-way, east-west streets in the borough's grid. As with Manhattan's other "crosstown" streets, it is divided into its east and west sections at Fifth Avenue. The street runs from Avenue C and FDR Drive in the east to Eleventh Avenue in the west. 23rd Street was created under the Commissioners' Plan of 1811. The street hosts several famous hotels, including the Fifth Avenue Hotel and Hotel Chelsea, as well as many theaters. Several skyscrapers are located on 23rd Street, including the Flatiron Building, the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower, and One Madison.

Silicon Alley is an area of high tech companies centered around southern Manhattan's Flatiron district in New York City. The term was coined in the 1990s during the dot-com boom, alluding to California's Silicon Valley tech center. The term has grown somewhat obsolete since 2003 as New York tech companies spread outside of Manhattan. As of 2014, New York City hosted 300,000 employees in the tech sector. In 2015, New York companies drew over US$7.3 billion in venture capital. High technology startup companies and employment are growing in New York City and across the metropolitan region, bolstered by the city's emergence as a global node of creativity and entrepreneurship, social tolerance, and environmental sustainability, as well as New York's position as the leading Internet hub and telecommunications center in North America, including its vicinity to several transatlantic fiber optic trunk lines, the city's intellectual capital, and its extensive outdoor wireless connectivity.

The Livingston Library in New York City is one of relatively few large libraries of Freemasonry materials.

Masonic Hall in New York City is the headquarters of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York. The building was constructed to replace a previous Masonic Hall (built in 1875 and designed by Napoleon LeBrun), that stood on the same site. The current building was designed by Harry P. Knowles, one of the architects of the New York City Center. It actually consists of two interconnected buildings, one (constructed in 1913) on the corner of 23rd St and 6th Avenue, and the other (constructed in 1907) facing 24th St. The 23rd St. building is primarily a commercial office building, with rents generating funds for the Grand Lodge's charitable activities and the upkeep of the 24th Street building. The 24th St. building consists primarily of lodge meeting rooms, including the 1200-seat Grand Lodge Room, all elaborately ornamented. The Hall's interior was restored in 1986-96 by Felix Chavez, Fine Art Decorating.

Simon Kim is a Korean-American restaurateur who owns and operates COTE Korean Steakhouse, a restaurant with locations in New York and Miami. COTE New York has received a star from the Michelin Guide each year since opening in 2017. It is the only Michelin-starred Korean barbecue restaurant in the world Kim's original “Korean Steakhouse” concept combines Korean barbecue with an American steakhouse experience and was inspired by his dual nationalities.Crain’s New York named Kim as one of their “40 Under 40” business leaders in 2019. In 2021, the National Restaurant Association, which represents 1 million restaurant and foodservice outlets and a workforce of 15.6 million employees, elected Kim to serve on their board.

COTE Korean Steakhouse is owned and operated by Simon Kim, a Korean-American restaurateur. The first location was opened in the Flatiron District of New York City in 2017 and has been awarded one Michelin star and several accolades from the James Beard Foundation. COTE is the only Michelin-starred Korean barbecue restaurant in the world. COTE's second location opened in Miami Design District in February, 2021.COTE is a Korean word (IPA: k͈o̞t̚ Korean: 꽃) that can mean flower, blossom, bloom, beauty, or essence.

Booth's Theatre was a theatre in New York built by actor Edwin Booth. Located on the southeast corner of 23rd Street and Sixth Avenue, Booth's Theatre opened on February 3, 1869. The theatre featured a grand vestibule with Italian marble floors and a large statue of Edwin Booth's father, the Shakespearean actor, Junius Brutus Booth by the sculptor Thomas Ridgeway Gould. The auditorium was similarly elaborate in its decor, and featured a large chandelier, as well as a stage that incorporated the most modern machinery in use at the time, such as hydraulic rams to raise and lower scenery, and stage lights that could be completely extinguished during the performance, a first in the United States. Despite the appearances by important talent of the times, Booth could not make the theatre a financially viable enterprise. It was sold in December 1881, and was converted into McCreery & Co. department store until 1965, when it was demolished to make room for a parking lot.

The Spero Building is a twelve-story building put up by David Spero at 19-27 West 21st Street in the Flatiron District neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. Built in 1907–08, the store-and-loft edifice, which was designed by Robert D. Kohn in the Art Nouveau style, is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, and within the Ladies' Mile Historic District. Spero, a millinery goods wholesaler, purchased the site of the building from Benjamin Stern, and rented space in the completed building to "embroiderers, shirtwaist merchants, and cloak and suit merchants, all characteristic tenants in the district/"The building's frontage measures 104.6 feet (31.9 m), and the facade is composed of limestone, and buff-colored brick. The entire structure cost approximately $350,000 to build.

23rd Street was a station on the demolished IRT Sixth Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. It had two tracks and two side platforms. It was served by trains from the IRT Sixth Avenue Line. This station opened on June 5, 1878 and closed on December 4, 1938. The next southbound stop was 18th Street. The next northbound stop was 28th Street. Two years later the rapid transit needs of the intersection were replaced by the underground 23rd Street IND subway station.
