Rochdale Branch Canal

Rochdale railway station is a multi-modal transport hub in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. It consists of a Northern-operated heavy rail station on the Caldervale Line, and an adjoining light rail stop on Metrolink's Oldham and Rochdale Line. The original heavy-rail element of the station was opened by the Manchester and Leeds Railway in 1839 (for economical reasons) 0.5 miles (0.80 km) to the south of Rochdale town centre. The Metrolink element opened in February 2013. Further changes to the station are planned as part of the Northern Hub rail-enhancement scheme.

St John the Baptist Church is a Roman Catholic Parish church in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. It was founded in 1830, and built in 1927. It is situated on the corner of Maclure Road and Dowling Street, opposite the Greater Manchester Fire Service Museum in the centre of the town. It was built in the Byzantine Revival style and is a Grade II* listed building.

Balderstone Technology College was a school in the Balderstone district of the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale in Greater Manchester, England.

Drake Street tram stop was a proposed tram stop for Greater Manchester's Metrolink light rail system, that was to be created to serve passengers boarding and alighting at Drake Street in Rochdale, England. It was also known by the name Wet Rake tram stop, and was set to be located on the Oldham and Rochdale Line between Rochdale railway station and Rochdale Town Centre tram stop. Drake Street was set to be constructed during Phase 3b of Metrolink's expansion, but in March 2011 it was scrapped by the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive which believed it would be too close to Rochdale Town Centre and could serve as an efficiency saving to allow the construction of Kingsway Business Park tram stop.

Balderstone is a district and an electoral ward of the wider Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale in the county of Greater Manchester, England. According to the 2001 census the ward had a population of 9,699. As at the 2011 census the ward was called Balderstone and Kirkholt with a population of 10,422.

Milnrow Road was a cricket ground in Rochdale, Lancashire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1868, when the Gentlemen of Rochdale played Australian Aboriginals during their tour of England.In 1876, the ground held its only first-class match when the North played the South.The final recorded match on the ground came in 1877 when Rochdale played Burnley. The ground was later required for building and built over. The exact location of the ground is unknown, only that it was situated along Milnrow Road, which is still in existence to this day. A likely candidate for its location is an area of land halfway along the road which was called Park Fields.

Cargo Studios was a recording studio located on Kenion Street, off Drake Street, Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. It was opened in 1977 by John Brierley (who had gained notoriety in the early 1970s as producer of Tractor's first two albums) and lasted in its first incarnation until 1984. The studio is synonymous with the rise of the post-punk music scene in the North of England and as the incubator of many bands that would go on to make their mark in the UK and worldwide, including Joy Division, the Fall, the Teardrop Explodes, Blue Orchids, the Membranes, Echo and the Bunnymen, Flight and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. One of the best known songs recorded at the studio is Joy Division's "Atmosphere". On 23 September 2009, a blue plaque was placed on the building, in recognition of the role it played in the British music scene.

Kingsway Park High School is an 11–16 mixed secondary School that opened in September 2010. The school is located in the Kingsway area of the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom. The school has approximately 1318 students on roll, with at least 14 countries represented across this number.

Moss Brook is a watercourse in Rochdale, Greater Manchester and a tributary of the River Roch. It originates in Newbold, and flows Northwards to join the River Roch. The majority of the brook is now culverted.

Number One Riverside is a multi-use public building in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. It incorporates Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council civic offices and customer service centre, Rochdale Central Library as well as conference facilities for community use and office space for third parties. The publicly accessible ground floor has restaurant and café spaces overlooking the River Roch. It was designed by FaulknerBrowns Architects and opened to the public in March 2013. The contemporary building was designed to be energy efficient and incorporates renewable and low carbon technology including a biomass boiler, photo voltaic panels to generate electricity and solar panels to help heat water. Its green roof was designed to harvest rainwater and provide insulation. The development of Number One Riverside enabled the council's estate to consolidate from 33 different sites into one building.

Springhill High School was a co-educational secondary school on Turf Hill Road in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. The catchment area consists of the neighbouring areas: Newbold, Kirkholt, Deeplish, Turf Hill and Belfield. The school closed 31 August 2010 as a result of the Building Schools for the Future program. The school merged with Balderstone Technology College and formed a new school called Kingsway Park High School. The new school is based on the old Spring Hill High School site.
