Audenshaw tram stop

Ryecroft Hall is a Grade II listed building in Audenshaw, Tameside, Greater Manchester. Originally a home to several prominent local residents, the hall was ultimately donated to the people of Audenshaw by Austin Hopkinson in 1922 and still serves the local community to the present day.

Audenshaw is a market town in Tameside, Greater Manchester, England, 4.9 miles (7.9 km) east of Manchester. Historically part of Lancashire, in 2011 it had a population of 11,419.The name derives from Aldwin, a Saxon personal name, and the Old English suffix shagh meaning "Woodland". Nico Ditch, an early-medieval linear earthwork possibly built as a defensive barrier against Vikings, runs through the area. Medieval Audenshaw was a division of the township of Ashton in the county of Lancashire. Audenshaw expanded as a centre for textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution and the Victorian era with inhabitants employed in hat-making, cotton-spinning, calico-printing, and silk-weaving. In 1974, Audenshaw Urban District became part of the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside.

Ashton Moss is a tram stop on the East Manchester Line, built as part of Phase 3b of the Manchester Metrolink. The station opened on 9 October 2013, ahead of the originally-publicised schedule of the winter of 2013–14. The stop has an island platform, and is located on Lord Sheldon Way near the Ashton Moss leisure complex and Snipe Retail Park on Ashton New Road. The station is served by a 200 space Park + Ride car park, with electric vehicle parking facilities.

The Audenshaw Reservoirs were constructed between 1877 and 1882 by Manchester Corporation. They are located between Audenshaw and Denton, in Greater Manchester, England. Their construction was overseen by John Frederick Bateman. Part of the village of Audenshaw was demolished to make way for the three reservoirs. Also destroyed to allow their construction was a section of Nico Ditch.

Littlemoss is a suburb of Droylsden, in the Tameside District, in the English county of Greater Manchester. Littlemoss village is predominantly a farming area comprising Cinderland Hall Farm (dating back to the 17th century), Buckley Hill Farm, Willow Bank Farm, Jaum Farm and Gravel Hill Farm and a few others. It comprises mainly Lumb Lane, Back Lane, Cross Lane, Andrew Street, Hyde Street, Wayne Close, Brookside Close, Brookland and Woodleigh and Wayne Close and The Stables Estate and the Maunder's estate.

Droylsden is a tram stop on the East Manchester Line (EML) of Greater Manchester's light-rail Metrolink system. It opened on 11 February 2013, after a three-day free trial for local residents. The stop was constructed as part of Phase 3a of the Metrolink's expansion, and is located in Droylsden town centre, a part of Tameside, England.

Butcher's Arms Ground is a multi-use stadium in Droylsden, Tameside, Greater Manchester, England. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Droylsden F.C. The stadium has a capacity of 3,000 people both seated and standing and is nicknamed "The Slaughterhouse" or "Abattoir" by fans. The Butchers reference is celebrated at a designated home game once a year, when the stadium floor is sprinkled with saw dust and fans are invited to wear white overalls and hairnets. During Droylsden's recent F.A. Cup tie against Leyton Orient, broadcast live on ESPN, two fans invaded the pitch at the end of the match dressed as butchers. It has partial or full cover on three sides of the pitch, terracing on four sides and seating along the centre of one side, plus a public house. The ground is named after the Butcher's Arms public house, whose landlord in 1892 instigated the formation of Droylsden FC to play on land behind the pub, which became the ground. After the Second World War the lease of the Butchers Arms was sold to Belle Vue F.C., who renamed themselves Droylsden United. And that club took over playing at the ground, forcing Drolysden to move to the nearby Moorside Trotting Stadium. However, the town wasn't big enough for two clubs, especially with bad feeling between them, and after the local council bought the ground, a merger was negotiated and Drolysden returned to the Butcher's Arms ground in 1952, after it had been renovated and the pitch had been rotated to its present position, finally eradicating a long-standing drainage problem. The record attendance is 4,250 for an FA Cup first round match between Droylsden and Grimsby Town in 1976.

Littlemoss High School for Boys was a comprehensive school in Littlemoss, Droylsden, Tameside, England. It merged with Droylsden High School, Mathematics and Computing College for Girls in September 2009 to become Droylsden Academy. Prior to the merger it educated about 550 boys and held specialist Business and Enterprise College status.

Saxon Mill, Droylsden was a cotton spinning mill in Droylsden, Tameside, Greater Manchester, England. It was built in the 1907, taken over by the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in the 1930s and passed to Courtaulds in 1964. Production finished in 1967, and the mill was demolished in 1995.
