Dún Ailinne

Old Kilcullen, formerly Kilcullen (Cill Chuilinn, "the Church of the Holly" in Irish), is a townland in County Kildare, Ireland, which includes a noted religious archaeological site within its boundary. As a townland it is relatively large (792 acres) but lightly populated (79 premises). The location of the townland is roughly contained within the R418 and R448 routes starting at its most northerly point, a crossroads known locally as Thompson's Cross. The townland continues south from this point as far as Harklow and is intersected in its north east corner by the M9 motorway at Abbeyaun. Old Kilcullen was formerly the site of a walled town, and before that of an ecclesiastical settlement dating from the 5th century. The original settlement gave its name to the substantial surrounding civil parish and barony. The urban centre of the area moved 2 km north-east to Kilcullen Bridge on the River Liffey, often now simply known as Kilcullen, following the construction of a bridge there in 1319. Old Kilcullen is just under 5 km from Newbridge and approximately 13 km from Naas. Old Kilcullen is the site of a round tower and a decorated High Cross. Another, much older, historic site, Dun Ailinne, is located approximately one kilometre away to the north at Knockaulin.

Kilcullen is an Intermediate Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in Kilcullen, County Kildare, Ireland, which played a leading role in developing the games in the county.

Castlemartin is the name of a historic house and estate, and the townland in which they sit, on the banks of the River Liffey in Kilcullen, County Kildare, Ireland. Formerly a key estate of the Eustace family, it was for many years the home of media magnate Tony O'Reilly, and his wife, Chryss Goulandris, but was bought in 2015 by John Malone, an Irish American. The estate includes major stud farm and cattle breeding operations, a restored medieval church and an icehouse.

Kilcullen (Irish: Cill Chuilinn), formally Kilcullen Bridge, is a small town on the River Liffey in County Kildare, Ireland. Its population of 3,473 at the 2011 census made it the 12th largest settlement in County Kildare and the fastest growing in the county, having doubled in population from 1,483 in the census of 2002. By 2016, the population had risen to 3,710. It is situated primarily in the Barony of Kilcullen (in the Civil Parish of Kilcullen), with part in the Barony of Naas South (Civil Parish of Carnalway), and subsidiary areas include Logstown, Harristown, Carnalway and Brannockstown, Gilltown, Nicholastown, and Castlemartin. Kilcullen Bridge replaced the original settlement of Kilcullen, now Old Kilcullen, in the centuries following the building of the great bridge at the future site of the town. Other local historical features include Dun Ailinne, New Abbey and Castlemartin, for many years the home of media magnate Tony O'Reilly and his wife, horse-breeding shipping heiress Chryss Goulandris, and now owned by US billionaire John Malone. In the town's hinterland are a number of stud farms.

St. Mary's Church, Castlemartin, located in the broad Kilcullen area of County Kildare, Ireland, is the first medieval church in Ireland to have been restored to full working order. The small stone Roman Catholic church, with accompanying burial ground, lies within Castlemartin Estate, which belonged for many years to media magnate Tony O'Reilly; O'Reilly paid for the restoration in 1979–1980, after which the church was reconsecrated in August 1981 by Archbishop Dermot Ryan. There has been a church on this site for over 800 years.

Athgarvan (Irish: Áth Garbháin, meaning 'Garvan's ford') is a village 4 km (2.5 mi) southwest of Newbridge in County Kildare, Ireland. The population of the village was 1,176 in the census of 2016.

Athgarvan is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in Athgarvan, County Kildare, Republic of Ireland, which played a significant role in the development of the GAA in the 1890s.

The Royal Curragh Golf Club is a private members' club with an 18-hole golf course in County Kildare, Ireland. Dating from 1858, it is the oldest golf club in Ireland. Located next to Curragh Camp, its course has historically had strong links to the military.

Gaelscoil Chill Dara (GSCD) is a coeducational Irish language primary school situated on the Green Road in the Curragh, County Kildare in Ireland. The school was founded in 1995 with the vision of delivering primary education through the medium of Irish (a Gaelscoil) while following the standard national school curriculum, allowing pupils to gain full proficiency as Gaeilge. Gaelscoil Chill Dara was originally based in Herbert Lodge on the Curragh, moving to a much larger purpose-built premises at Curragh Grange in the early millennium due to the increasing demanding for primary Irish-speaking education in the County Kildare region. The school serves the surrounding urban centres of Newbridge, Kildare Town, Naas, Kilcullen and Rathangan.Gaelscoil Chill Dara has a Catholic religious ethos and is under the patronage of An Foras Pátrúnachta na Scoileanna LánGhaeilge Teo. "Chill Dara" (singular Cill Dara) is the Irish name for Kildare, meaning "church of the oak". Pupils range in age from 4 to 13 years of age. Its main education focus is on English, Irish, Mathematics and Drama subjects.The number of pupils enrolled in the school for the 2015/16 school year was 444, with an even breakdown in the number of girls and boys, and 16 classes spanning the 8 years from junior infants to sixth class. The school has been oversubscribed for a number of years.The current principal is Niamh Uí Chadhla, who was appointed in 2019 after the resignation of former principal Seán de Paor, who had been principal since the school's establishment in 1995.

Sundai Ireland International School (駿台アイルランド国際学校 Sundai Airurando Kokusai Gakkō) was a Japanese international school in Newbridge, County Kildare, Republic of Ireland. It served junior high school and senior high school students, who had Japanese expatriate parents. The school was in operation in the 1990s. This school was an overseas branch of a Japanese private school, or a Shiritsu zaigai kyōiku shisetsu (私立在外教育施設).Curragh Grange was the main building, and it featured the Lafcadio Hearn Library. Kildare House (キルデア・ハウス Kirudea Hausu) served as a classroom building. The campus also featured dormitory and dining facilities.The school closed in March 2003, and Gaelscoil Chill Dara moved into its classroom building. The dormitory building was intended to be converted to a school for special needs children, however it was found to be unsuitable for this purpose. It laid vacant for six years until September 2009, when Newbridge Educate Together began occupying the property. The dining hall building lay vacant for seven years until mid 2010, when Gaelscoil Chill Dara repurposed it to provide additional classrooms to the school.
