Oradell Reservoir

The Oradell Reservoir Dam, known as the Oradell Dam, is a dam in Oradell, New Jersey located at the southern tip of the Oradell Reservoir, connecting it to the Lower Hackensack River, which flows south to the Newark Bay. It ranges from 25 to 50 feet (7.6 to 15.2 m) from the top to the surface of the river, depending on tide, and it is 402 feet (123 m) long. The dam is primarily used for flood control to dam the reservoir. Directly to the south is the Oradell Avenue road bridge that crosses the Hackensack River. The closest bridge northwards is the Old Hook Road (CR 502) bridge which is in the northern area of the reservoir.

Oradell is a grade-level commuter rail station for New Jersey Transit in the borough of Oradell, Bergen County, New Jersey. Located at the intersection of Oradell Avenue (County Route 80) and Maple Avenue, the station serves trains on the Pascack Valley Line.

Van Buskirk-Oakley House is located in Oradell, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1834 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 3, 1979.

Oradell is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 8,244, an increase of 266 (+3.3%) from the 2010 census count of 7,978, which in turn reflected a decline of 69 (-0.9%) from the 8,047 counted in the 2000 census. The borough includes a dam on the Hackensack River that forms the Oradell Reservoir. Oradell is a suburb of New York City, located approximately 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Midtown Manhattan. Oradell was originally formed on March 8, 1894, as the borough of Delford, from portions of Harrington Township, Midland Township (now Rochelle Park) and Palisades Township. The borough was formed during the "Boroughitis" phenomenon then sweeping through Bergen County, in which 26 boroughs were formed in the county in 1894 alone. The name "Delford" was a portmanteau created from the names of two communities within the new borough: Oradell and New Milford. The Hotel Delford had been constructed in 1870 after the construction of the first railroad to reach the area. On November 12, 1920, the borough's name was officially changed to "Oradell", based on the results of a referendum held ten days earlier. Oradell derives its name from "ora" (Latin for "edge") and "dell".New Jersey Monthly ranked Oradell as the 68th best place to live in New Jersey in its 2010 rankings of the "Top Towns" in the state. The Oradell Public School District is a community public school district that serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade from Oradell, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The district consists of a single school, Oradell Public School. As of the 2019–20 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 768 students and 64.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.0:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. The New Milford Plant of the Hackensack Water Company was a water treatment and pumping plant located on Van Buskirk Island, an artificially created island in the Hackensack River, in Oradell, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The site was purchased in 1881 by the Hackensack Water Company, which developed it for water supply use. The facility was built between 1881 and 1911, and it includes a brick pumping station from 1882, a tall filtration tower, and huge underground infrastructure. The Hackensack Water Company was merged into United Water in the 1980s; the successor today is Suez North America.

The 18-hole private golf course at Haworth Country Club officially opened in 1965 is located in Haworth, New Jersey. Re-designed by the golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 2000, the course length is 7000 yards. The course has five sets of tees and over four acres of teeing ground. Other amenities include grass driving range, seven indoor tennis courts, gourmet restaurant, bar, and meeting rooms. Haworth Country Club is located 10.5 miles from the George Washington Bridge, and is in a deciduous forest behind the reservoir.

Located in Oradell, River Dell High School has been a four-year high school since 1994, and is accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 999 students and 90.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.1:1. Art Center of Northern New Jersey is a fine arts school and gallery offering art classes to the general public. It was founded in 1956, and is located on the premises of the old Lutheran Church in New Milford, New Jersey, United States. The Art Center took over the building after the current Lutheran Church St Matthew's received its new home across the road. The facility caters to adult and children wishing to get schooled in fine art. In addition to painting and photo studios the center can boast that it is the only place in the area which has a stone sculpture studio' with pneumatic equipment." It also has a fully equipped printmaking studio supported by two Charles Brand presses, darkroom and high-intensity light table for photo-based platemaking.The Art Center offers a full year-round program. Classes are taught by skilled professionals in drawing, painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media), photography, print making, and sculpture in stone and wood. Instructors monitor and teach life drawing and painting sessions. The facility sponsors four affiliate groups of artists: painters, sculptors, watercolorists, and print makers. The Center's gallery program hosts local and national level exhibits on its premises in the Marcella Geltman Gallery.
