The University of Toledo (UToledo or UT) is a public research university in Toledo, Ohio. It is the northernmost campus of the University System of Ohio. The university also operates a 450-acre (180 ha) Health Science campus, which includes the University of Toledo Medical Center, in the West Toledo neighborhood of Toledo; a 160-acre (65 ha) satellite campus in the Scott Park neighborhood of Toledo; the Center for the Visual Arts is located in downtown Toledo at the Toledo Museum of Art; and a research and education facility, known as the Lake Erie Center, at Maumee Bay State Park. The university was founded in 1872 in downtown Toledo as the Toledo University of Arts and Trades. It closed after six years. The city of Toledo took it over, reopening it in 1884 as the Toledo Manual Training School. The vocational school was developed as a university through the late 1800s.In 1931 the university moved to its current location in the Ottawa neighborhood. Since its establishment, the university has physically expanded to include more than 100 major buildings with a combined area of more 1,400 acres (570 ha) and transformed its academic program from one for vocational and secondary education into a comprehensive research university. It is known for its curriculum in the science, engineering, and medical fields. It is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".The University of Toledo has over 100,000 living alumni and a current enrollment of more than 15,000 students. The university has more than 300 student organizations. Its athletic teams, called the Rockets, are members of the Mid-American Conference.

The Glass Bowl is a stadium in Toledo, Ohio. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the American football team of the University of Toledo Rockets. It is located on the school's Bancroft campus, just south of the banks of the Ottawa River. Known for its blend of old and new, it retains the traditional stonework around the field throughout all its expansions.

The University of Toledo College of Law is the law school at the University of Toledo, and is located on the university's main campus in a residential neighborhood in western Toledo, Ohio. The school is fully accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools.The College of Law offers a three-year, full-time program leading to a Juris Doctor degree. It also offers Certificates of Concentration, permitting a student to focus on a particular field of interest such as Criminal, Environmental, or International Law.According to the College of Law's official 2013 ABA-required disclosures, 48.3% of the class of 2013 obtained full-time, long-term, bar passage-required employment nine months after graduation, excluding solo-practitioners.

The Ritter Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by the University of Toledo (UT) in Toledo, Ohio. Ritter Planetarium is located in the same building, and the university also operates Brooks Observatory in an adjacent building. Ritter Observatory features a 1.06 m (42 in) Ritchey-Chrétien telescope built in 1967 by Warner & Swasey Company of Cleveland, Ohio. It was installed in 1968, and is used primarily for spectroscopy and occasionally for instruction and public viewing events. Research conducted at the observatory focuses on long-term spectroscopic monitoring of stars such as Rigel, Beta Lyrae, and Zeta Tauri.

The 2014–15 Toledo Rockets Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Toledo during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rockets, led by fifth year head coach Tod Kowalczyk, played their home games at Savage Arena, as members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 20–13, 11–7 in MAC play to finish in second place in the West Division. They advanced to the semifinals of the MAC tournament where they lost to Central Michigan. Despite having 20 wins, they were not invited to a postseason tournament.

Savage Arena (formerly John F. Savage Hall and Centennial Hall) is a multi-purpose arena located in Toledo, Ohio, on the campus of the University of Toledo. The arena opened in 1976 and originally seated 9,000 for basketball and up to 10,000 for concerts. As part of a $30 million renovation and addition to the arena, completed in 2008, the seating capacity was reduced to 7,300 for basketball and up to 8,300 for concerts. It primarily serves as the home venue for the Toledo Rockets men's and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball team, and also hosts concerts, commencement exercises, and other events.

Brooks Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by the University of Toledo. The observatory is used primarily for public viewing and undergraduate instruction. It hosts an array of small telescopes, the centrepiece of which is a Celestron 14 Edge HD. It is located on the campus of the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio (USA), occupying the 6th floor of McMaster Hall, home to the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Adjacent to Brooks Observatory is Ritter Observatory, which houses Ritter Planetarium and a one-metre telescope. In contrast to the telescopes at Brooks Observatory, the Ritter telescope is used for graduate and faculty research.

Sculpture in the Park is a non-profit sculpture garden on "Arrowhead Point" in eastern Ottawa Hills, Ohio, at the five-way intersection of Secor Road, Bancroft Street, and Indian Road. All of the sculptures are large enough "to be easily visible from the street", and there is a great deal of variety. The sculptures get much exposure at this location, since "thousands of cars pass by... daily."

Old Orchard is a neighborhood in Toledo, Ohio that is roughly bordered by Bancroft Street, Secor Road, Central Avenue and Douglas Road, and is bordered by the University of Toledo to the south and the Village of Ottawa Hills to the west.

Ottawa is a neighborhood in west central Toledo, Ohio, bordered by Secor Road to the West, Dorr Street to the South, Central Ave. to the North, and Upton and Monroe to the East and North. It derives its name from the Ottawa Indians that settled in the area in the early 18th century, as well as Ottawa Park, a prominent recreational area located within the community.The district features historic neighborhoods such as Old Orchard, Indian Hills and Westmoreland. Old Orchard and Indian Hills are parallel to the Village of Ottawa Hills and have similar architectural styles and multi-level single-family homes. Westmoreland is bordered by Bancroft Street, Parkside Boulevard and Upton Ave. It is characterized by architectural styles ranging from Colonial to French, with rounded, undulating streets and open miniparks.

Ottawa Hills High School is a public high school in the village of Ottawa Hills, Ohio, United States, just west of Toledo. It is the only high school in the Ottawa Hills Local Schools district. The school's mascot is the Green Bears.

St. Francis de Sales School or SFS is a private, all-male, college-preparatory school in Toledo, Ohio. It is located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toledo. The school was named as one of the top 20 Catholic high schools in the nation for academics by Catholic High School Honor Roll for two consecutive years in 2005 and 2006.
