NYU Langone Health is an academic medical center located in New York City, New York, United States. The health system consists of NYU Grossman School of Medicine and NYU Long Island School of Medicine, both part of New York University (NYU), and more than 300 locations throughout the New York metropolitan area, including six inpatient facilities: Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, Hassenfeld Children's Hospital, NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn and NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island. It is also home to Rusk Rehabilitation Institute.NYU Langone Health is ranked number 3 in the nation and number 1 in New York State on U.S. News & World Report’s 2022–23 “Best Hospitals Honor Roll”. NYU Grossman School of Medicine is ranked number 2 in the nation on U.S. News & World Report’s 2022–23 list of “Best Graduate Schools for Research”, rising from number 34 in 2010. Rusk Rehabilitation is consistently ranked one of the top 10 rehabilitation programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Vizient, Inc. and the Leapfrog Group, two independent healthcare performance improvement organizations, have named NYU Langone Health among the top health systems nationwide for quality and safety, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has awarded the institution a five-star rating. NYU Langone Health’s four hospitals have all earned the Magnet designation for excellence in nursing and quality patient care from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, an honor achieved by only 9.4% of hospitals in the U.S. NYU Langone Health is one of the largest healthcare systems in the Northeast, with more than 46,000 employees.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York (OCME) is a department within the city government that investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence; by casualty or by suicide; suddenly, when in apparent good health; when unattended by a physician; in a correctional facility; or in any suspicious or unusual manner. The OCME also investigates when an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate the body of a deceased person.

Hassenfeld Children's Hospital (HCH) at NYU Langone (formerly Children's Health at NYU Hospitals Center) is a pediatric acute-care children's hospital located on the NYU Langone Health campus in Manhattan, New York. Hassenfeld Children's Hospital has 102 pediatric beds and is located in the Helen L. and Martin S. Kimmel Pavilion. It is directly affiliated with the pediatrics department of the New York University Grossman School of Medicine. The hospital treats infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21, with some programs treating up until age 25. While not a trauma center, Hassenfeld Children's Hospital contains the KiDS Emergency Department to treat children with injuries.

Rusk Rehabilitation is the world's first and among the largest university-affiliated academic centers devoted entirely to inpatient/outpatient care, research, and training in rehabilitation medicine for both adults and pediatric patients. The system is part of the NYU Langone Medical Center and operated under the auspices of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of the New York University School of Medicine. The Rusk Institute is named in honor of its founder, Howard A. Rusk. The Rusk Institute has been voted the best rehabilitation hospital in New York and among the top ten in the country since 1989, when U.S. News & World Report introduced its annual "Best Hospitals" rankings. As of 2008 Steven Flanagan is the chairman of rehabilitation medicine and medical director of the Rusk Institute.

Kips Bay Towers is a large two-building condominium complex in the Kips Bay neighborhood of Manhattan with a total of 1,118 units. The complex was designed by architects I.M. Pei and S. J. Kessler, with the involvement of James Ingo Freed, in the brutalist style and completed in 1965. The project was developed by Webb & Knapp.The complex occupies an area of three city blocks, or approximately 7.5 acres (3.0 ha), bounded by First and Second avenues and East 30th and 33rd streets. The complex includes two residential high-rise buildings each with 20 floors. Additionally, there is a three-acre private garden between the two towers featuring landscaped lawns as well as recreational spaces. Kips Bay Towers is home to more than 4,000 residents.

The Enid A. Haupt Glass Garden was built in 1958 as part of the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at New York University Medical Center. It provides horticultural therapy for patients, but is also open to the public. It is contained in a 17,000-square-foot (1,600 m2) greenhouse at 34th Street and First Avenue in New York City. The garden was a gift from Enid A. Haupt.

The 34th Street Ferry station was a station on the 34th Street Shuttle that branched off of the demolished IRT Third Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. The elevated spur operated from July 1, 1880, to July 14, 1930. Located on the east side of First Avenue, the station had two tracks and one island platform. It served the 34th Street Ferry Terminal, which provided connecting services to the Long Island Rail Road's passenger terminal in Long Island City. The next stop on the shuttle was Second Avenue.

The Church of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary was a former Roman Catholic parish church, primarily serving Italian-Americans, that has been demolished. The church was located on 309-315 East 33rd Street, in the Kips Bay area of Manhattan, New York City. It has since been replaced by a chapel under the same name.

East 34th Street Heliport (FAA LID: 6N5) is a heliport on the east side of Manhattan located on the East River Greenway, between the East River and the FDR Drive viaduct. Also known as the Atlantic Metroport at East 34th Street, it is a public heliport owned by New York City and run by the Economic Development Corporation.

The Water Club is an American traditional cuisine event venue moored on a barge on the East River at East 30th Street in Murray Hill, in Manhattan, New York City. Like its sister restaurant in Fulton Ferry, The River Cafe, it was heavily damaged by Hurricane Sandy. The venue, whose view faces Queens, serves classic American cuisine and seafood.The restaurant is owned by Michael (Buzzy) O'Keefe and the space is leased from the New York City Economic Development Corporation, and the rent is determined by the amount of revenue. The New York City Comptroller issued a report in 2011 alleging that the Water Club was understating its revenue by failing to record some cash sales.

View 34 (formerly known as Rivergate) is a 35-story apartment building in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Occupying the full block bounded by First Avenue, FDR Drive, East 34th Street and East 35th Street, the high-rise was constructed on the former site of a Coca-Cola bottling plant and sparked the redevelopment of the eastern part of Murray Hill from industrial to residential uses beginning in the 1980s.

Bellevue Hospital (officially NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue and formerly known as Bellevue Hospital Center) is a hospital in New York City and the oldest public hospital in the United States. One of the largest hospitals in the United States by number of beds, it is located at 462 First Avenue in the Kips Bay neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. Bellevue is also home to FDNY EMS Station 08, formerly NYC EMS Station 13. Historically, Bellevue was popularly associated with its treatment of mentally ill patients such that "Bellevue" became a local pejorative slang term for a psychiatric hospital. This is long past the case as the hospital since developed into a comprehensive major medical center over the years, including outpatient, specialty, and skilled nursing care, as well as emergency and inpatient services. The hospital contains a 25-story patient care facility and has an attending physician staff of 1,200 and an in-house staff of about 5,500. Bellevue is a safety net hospital, providing healthcare for individuals regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. It handles over half a million patient visits each year. In 2014 Bellevue was ranked 40th overall best hospital in the New York metro area and 29th in New York City by U.S. News & World Report.
