Monasterevin

Monasterevin (Mainistir Eimhín in Irish) (also Monasterevan) railway station is on the Dublin to Cork InterCity railway line. It is served mostly by commuter services to and from Heuston Station, Dublin. Until December 2017, there were no services on Sundays. It is situated just outside the town of Monasterevin, County Kildare.

Moore Abbey (Irish: Mainstir Uí Mhórdha) is a monastic house on the east bank of the River Barrow at Monasterevin in County Kildare, Ireland. It was formerly the seat of the Earls of Drogheda.

Monasterevan G.F.C. is a Gaelic football club based in Monasterevin, County Kildare, Ireland. The club competes in the County Kildare GAA board league and cup system. They were Kildare "club of the year" in 1977. In 2012, Monasterevan G.F.C. won their first Leinster Intermediate Club Football Championship, beating Raheens in the county final on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-07 and O’Connells of Louth 0-04 to 0-03 in the Leinster. Monasterevan were the first club in Ireland to win a football and hurling double, defeating Clane by 1-3 to 1-2, in the 1890 Kildare football final, and defeating Moorefield in the Kildare hurling final the same year.

Ballykelly Gaelic Football Club is a Gaelic football based Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in County Kildare, Ireland, north of Monasterevin. They field teams from U6 to senior in both ladies' and men's football.

Courtwood GAA (Irish: Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coill na Cúirte) is a Gaelic Athletic Association gaelic football club, located in the north east corner of County Laois in Ireland. The club is located in the eastern half of Emo parish with a small catchment area south of the village of Ballybrittas and mainly covered by the local school Rath NS. The locality is bordered on one side by County Kildare and by three neighbouring clubs in Laois: Annanough, O'Dempsey's and Emo. At adult level, the club is a football club only, although a period in the 2000s saw Courtwood dabble in the small ball game. Courtwood currently field football teams at senior and junior C. Juvenile football and hurling affairs are catered for by St Pauls Juvenile GAA club, an amalgamation with fellow parishioners, Emo. Courtwood also amalgamate with Emo at minor (under 17) and under 20 level.

Jamestown (Irish: Baile Thaidhg Dhuibh, meaning 'the town of black Tadhg') is a small village on a crossroads between Ballybrittas in County Laois and Monasterevin in County Kildare, in Ireland. The local gaelic football team, Jamestown GAA, existed in Jamestown during the middle of the 20th century before fading out of existence in the 1960s.

Bracknagh or Bracnagh (Irish: Breacánach) is a small village in County Offaly, Ireland. It is at the junction of the R442 and R419 regional roads, halfway between Portarlington and Rathangan (8 km from both). It is thought that the settlement began with a small cluster of homes built around the road junction. Expansion along connected roads included the addition of two housing developments called, "The Ring" and "The Green" by Offaly County Council and Bord na Mona.Due to the nearest postal sorting office being in Kildare, Bracknagh is listed as a Kildare address, though it is in County Offaly.Bracknagh is home to the Ballynowlart church, where the history reports that the congregation were burned alive in the 1600s. Bracknagh is home to St Broughan's Well, the water from which is reputed to be a cure for headaches.Bracknagh has a national school which in the early 2000s received a facelift which combined a new build and the older section of the school. Bracknagh GAA is the local Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club and was founded in 1973. The club were the first team to win the Offaly GAA intermediate title in 1978. Since its establishment and inaugural championship win, Bracknagh GAA have added further Offaly Intermediate titles, a Junior C Championship and Senior B Championship along with several league titles. In 2019, Bracknagh GAA were named the Offaly club of the year. Bracknagh now play at Senior B level.Bracknagh is a small village with a number of small housing estates and a local shop, post office and public house. Bracknagh's catchment area stretches from the Kildare border to the Laois border. During 2021, the Bracknagh community hall was upgraded and is used for a number of community activities.

Ballybrittas (Irish: Baile Briotáis, meaning 'town of the palisade', IPA:[ˈbˠalʲəˈbʲɾʲɪt̪ˠaːʃ]) is a small village in the northeast of County Laois, Ireland situated on the R445 about 5 km SW of Monasterevin, County Kildare. Formerly on the N7 Dublin - Limerick road, the village is now bypassed by the M7 motorway.

Killenard (Irish: Coill An Aird, meaning 'the wood of the height') is a village in County Laois, Ireland. It lies in the historic barony of Portnahinch and within the administrative area of Laois County Council.As of the 2016 census, the village had a population of 671 people, up from 622 inhabitants in the 2011 census. Formerly a small village, a number of housing developments were built in the area during the "Celtic Tiger" era.The Heritage Hotel and Golf Resort, located close to the village centre, was built in 2004. The local Roman Catholic (Saint John's) church and Church of Ireland (Lea) church both date from the early 19th century.
