Boyd's Theater and Opera House was a theater and opera house at 1621 Harney Street in Downtown Omaha, Nebraska. It was demolished in 1920 and the property redeveloped for the then owner's department store business.

The Sporting District was an area near 16th and Harney Streets in Omaha, Nebraska where city boss Tom Dennison kept the majority of his gambling, drinking and prostitution interests from the late 19th century until the end of his reign in 1933. "Cowboy" James Dahlman was reputedly voted to the first of eight terms as mayor of Omaha because he was more tolerant of the Dennison's "Sporting District" in the middle of the city.The term sporting was a common 19th-century euphemism for gambling and/or prostitution. Many communities around the U.S. used this term; brothels were often referred to as sporting houses.

City National Bank Building, also known as the Orpheum Tower, is a 220 ft, 16 story, tower in Downtown Omaha, Nebraska. When built in 1910, it was the tallest building in Omaha. It remained the tallest building until 1912 when the Woodmen of the World was completed. It was added to the NRHP in 1973. The building is now known as the Orpheum Tower and is a 132-unit apartment building.

The First National Bank Building is a U-shaped, fourteen-story, historic steel structure building located on the corner of 16th and Farnam street in Downtown Omaha, Nebraska. The building was constructed in 1917. It was the original building for the First National Bank as well as the first high-rise building built in Omaha. At 210 feet, it is the 17th tallest building in the city and its unique structure makes it a landmark in downtown Omaha.Renovations in 2000 converted a majority of the building from office space to residential. Currently, the first floor acts as a lobby for residents of the building. A separate partition houses retail, restaurants and another separate entrance exists for the 27 offices located on the second and third floors. Floors four through fourteen contain 81 luxury one- and two-bedroom condominiums. When the building was remodeled and turned into condominiums, a library, gym, and basement storage were added.

The Magnolia Hotel, formerly the Sheraton Omaha, was originally constructed as the Aquila Court Building, and is located at 1615 Howard Street in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. Built in 1923, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The Magic Theatre is located at 325 South 16th Street in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Founded in 1968 by Jo Ann Schmidman, the theatre is designed to be an experimental theatre by and for people in the Midwest. The Magic Theatre has toured around the world, including the Suwon Castle International Theater Festival in South Korea. The theatre itself was closed and sold by the city of Omaha in 2007.

The Farnam Building is located in Downtown Omaha, Nebraska. It is a seven-story, 110-foot-tall (34 m), historic building that was constructed in 1929. It is adjacent to the First National Bank Building to the east, and Farnam Plaza, an eight-story building that houses the Opera Omaha offices, to the west. The building had been important fixture in Omaha's downtown business community since the 1930s. Northup-Jones restaurant was located on the first level and was frequented by Omaha's financial and lawyer community.The building was renovated in 2000, and was converted from office space to 30 two- and three-bedroom residential apartments. The first floor is commercial space and contains two restaurants and a post office.

The Omaha National Bank Building was built in 1888–89 at 1650 Farnam Street in Downtown Omaha, Nebraska. Built in the Italian Renaissance style, the building was saved from demolition by a rehabilitation in 1978. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, the building was originally known as the New York Life Insurance Building; it was renamed in 1906.

The Rose Realty-Securities Building is a historic six-story building in Omaha, Nebraska. It was built by John H. Harte for the Rose Realty Company in 1916, and designed in Chicago school style by architect Frederick A. Henninger. The first floor was used for stores while the upper floors were rented as offices. The corner of 16th and Farnam was a Union Pacific ticket office from 1917 to 1941. The building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 19, 1996.

The Federal Office Building (Omaha, Nebraska), also known as the Old Federal Building, is a thirteen story, stripped classical style building with Art Deco elements located in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. The building was designed and built in 1933-34 by architects Thomas R. Kimball, William L. Steele, and Josiah D. Sandham as part of the firm Kimball, Steele & Sandham, plus associated architect George B. Prinz. It was built on the site of first U.S Courthouse and Post Office. Part of the New Deal building program, the structure's original occupants were all federal agencies including the US Weather Bureau, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Department of Agriculture, Civil Service Commission, Customs Service, Army, and Navy. The federal District Court for Nebraska met here until the late 1950s or early 1960s. The US Army Corps of Engineers was the last federal agency officed here, and subsequent to their departure in July 2008, it has not been in use by the federal government. Though not substantiated by the FBI, the building was allegedly examined by Timothy McVeigh in 1995, prior to his involvement in the Oklahoma City Bombing.In December 2011, the building was sold to developers who plan on opened a 152-room Residence Inn by Marriott. The exterior facade will remain the same as will some of the interior 1930s features such as terrazzo marble floors. The $23 million project is expected to be completed by 2013.

The Hill Hotel, also known as Kensington Tower, is a historic building located in Downtown Omaha, Nebraska. The building is one of the last existing examples of Colonial Revival architecture in Omaha. It is located on the historic 16th Street Mall, and contains 12 floors of apartments, with a book store on the first floor.

The present Douglas County Courthouse is located at 1701 Farnam Street in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Built in 1912, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Notable events at the courthouse include two lynchings and the city's first sit-in during the Civil Rights Movement. Five years after it was opened, the building was almost destroyed by mob violence in the Omaha Race Riot of 1919. The 1912 building was designed in the French Renaissance Revival style by local architect John Latenser, Sr. Decorative stonework covers the structure's exterior, and the building serves as a prominent landmark in Downtown Omaha.
