Carton House

The 2018 Eisenhower Trophy took place 5–8 September at the Carton House Golf Club in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland. It was the 31st World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 72 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team played two rounds on the Montgomerie and O'Meara courses. The leading teams played the Montgomerie course on the third day and the O'Meara course on the final day. Denmark won their first Eisenhower Trophy, a stroke ahead of the United States, who took the silver medal. Spain took the bronze medal while New Zealand, who led after 54 holes, finished fourth.The 2018 Espirito Santo Trophy was played on the same courses one week prior.

The Conolly Folly (Irish: Baois Uí Chongaile), a.k.a. The Obelisk, is an obelisk structure located between Celbridge, Leixlip and Maynooth in County Kildare, Ireland. It was built in the mid-18th century by the Conolly family, then owners of the Castletown Estate. It was restored in the mid-20th century by the Irish Georgian Society, and is now a national monument in state care.

The Royal Canal Greenway is a greenway, in Ireland, which will become part of the western section of EuroVelo EV2, and the Dublin-Galway Greenway. Since its official opening in March 2021, it is the longest greenway in Ireland. St Patrick's Pontifical University, Maynooth (Irish: Coláiste Naoimh Phádraig, Maigh Nuad), is a pontifical Catholic university in the town of Maynooth near Dublin, Ireland. The college and national seminary on its grounds are often referred to as Maynooth College. The college was officially established as the Royal College of St Patrick by Maynooth College Act 1795. Thomas Pelham, the Chief Secretary for Ireland, introduced a bill for the foundation of a Catholic college, and this was enacted by parliament. It was opened to hold up to 500 students for the Catholic priesthood of whom up to 90 would be ordained each year, and was once the largest seminary in the world. Degrees are awarded by the Pontifical University at Maynooth, which was established by a pontifical charter of 1896. The pontifical charter entitles the university to grant degrees in canon law, philosophy and theology. The college is associated with the state-run Maynooth University, with which it shares an historic campus, as well as certain facilities.

It caters for the sporting and social needs of residential areas adjacent to its location for all ages through the promotion of Gaelic games — Gaelic football, hurling, camogie and handball. Maynooth are the winners of two county senior football championships in 1896 and 1913 and two senior hurling championships in 1937 and 1939.

Aula Maxima (Latin pronunciation: [ˈau̯la ˈmaksɪma]), officially the McMahon Hall, is a theatre building in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland. It was built in 1893.Aula Maxima comes from Latin, meaning Great Hall. The building is also known simply as "The Aula". It is situated on the South Campus of Maynooth University and St Patrick's College, Maynooth and is the main theatre for the university, college and surrounding area. It also serves as the conferring hall of the university where the annual graduations take place. The Aula was also used as a Cinema for the students in the college, with the Maynooth Students' Union screening films there.

The National University of Ireland, Maynooth (NUIM; Irish: Ollscoil na hÉireann Mhá Nuad), commonly known as Maynooth University (MU) (Irish: Ollscoil Mhá Nuad), is a constituent university of the National University of Ireland in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland. It was Ireland's youngest university until Technological University Dublin was established in 2019, having been founded by the Universities Act, 1997, from the secular faculties of the now separate St Patrick's College, Maynooth, which was founded in 1795.
