Brooklyn Technical High School, commonly called Brooklyn Tech and administratively designated High School 430, is an elite New York City public magnet high school that specializes in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It is one of three original specialized high schools operated by the New York City Department of Education, along with Stuyvesant High School and the Bronx High School of Science. Brooklyn Tech is considered one of the country's most prestigious and selective high schools. Brooklyn Tech is ranked #2 in New York City and #22 overall in the United States for college readiness and graduation rates.Admission to Brooklyn Tech involves taking the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test and scoring the cutoff for Brooklyn Tech. Each November, about 30,000 eighth and ninth graders take the 3-hour test for admittance to eight of the nine specialized high schools. About 1,900 to 1,950 students are admitted each year. Brooklyn Tech counts top scientists, inventors, innovators, Fortune 500 company CEOs and founders, high-ranking diplomats, academic scholars, literary and media figures, professional athletes, National Medal recipients, Nobel laureates, and Olympic medalists among its alumni.

The Raymond Street Jail was a jail in Brooklyn, New York City. With its cornerstone laid in a ceremony on August 27, 1836, Raymond Street Jail existed as the main prison for the Brooklyn area until the latter was incorporated into New York City in 1898. The facility was finally closed on July 20, 1963. When initially constructed, an oversight in planning resulted in there being no front door, with one having to be cut into the walls as a result. Originally for male prisoners, a female wing was added in 1839. It underwent several phases of construction, and was rebuilt in 1879 and 1909.

The Steinberg Wellness Center, formally known as the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center (WRAC), is a 2,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Brooklyn, New York. It was built in 2006 and is home to the LIU Sharks Men's and Women's Basketball, Women's Volleyball, Women's Fencing, Women's Swimming & Diving and Women's Water Polo teams. LIU previously played their home games at the Schwartz Athletic Center. Following President David Steinberg's retirement in Spring 2013, the WRAC was renamed the Steinberg Wellness Center to honor his 27-year tenure as President.

The Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument is a war memorial at Fort Greene Park, in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. It commemorates more than 11,500 American prisoners of war who died in captivity aboard sixteen British prison ships during the American Revolutionary War. The remains of a small fraction of those who died on the ships are interred in a crypt beneath its base. The ships included HMS Jersey, Scorpion, Hope, Falmouth, Stromboli, Hunter, and others.Their remains were first gathered and interred in 1808. In 1867 landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, designers of Central Park and Prospect Park, were engaged to prepare a new design for Washington Park as well as a new crypt for the remains of the prison ship martyrs. In 1873, after development near the Brooklyn Navy Yard uncovered the remains, they were moved and re-interred in a crypt beneath a small monument. Funds were raised for a larger monument, which was designed by noted architect Stanford White. Constructed of granite, its single Doric column 149 feet (45 m) in height sits over the crypt at the top of a 100-foot-wide (30 m) 33-step staircase. At the top of the column is an eight-ton bronze brazier, a funeral urn, by sculptor Adolph Weinman. President-elect William Howard Taft delivered the principal address when the monument was dedicated in 1908.

The bust of Edward Snowden, called Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument 2.0 by its creators, was an ephemeral, illegally installed public sculpture of Edward Snowden, an American whistleblower who leaked classified information from the National Security Agency (NSA) and was charged with federal crimes as a result. The bronze-like bust was placed in Fort Greene Park in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York City, on April 6, 2015. It was attached to a Doric column on the perimeter of the park's Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument, a memorial and crypt which honors and inters the more than 11,500 American prisoners of war who died in the American Revolution while housed on British prison ships.Affixed atop an existing column, the bust was mounted by three anonymous artists and their helpers, who were dressed in white construction helmets and reflective vests in imitation of Parks Department workers, early in the morning of April 6, then covered and taken down by NYC Parks officials later that day. A hologram tribute to Snowden was subsequently installed after the sculpture was removed.

BRIC, formerly known as BRIC Arts Media or Brooklyn Information & Culture, is a non-profit arts organization based in Brooklyn, New York founded in 1979 as the "Fund for the Borough of Brooklyn". A presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, it incubates and showcases work by artists and media-makers with programs reaching hundreds of thousands of people each year. Their main venue, BRIC House, is based in the Brooklyn Cultural District, and offers a public media center, a contemporary art exhibition space, two performance spaces, a glass-walled TV studio, and artist work spaces. BRIC’s programs include the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival in Prospect Park, a contemporary art exhibition series, and two distinct media initiatives: Brooklyn Free Speech, Brooklyn's Public Access initiative, and BRIC TV, a nonprofit community TV channel and digital network. BRIC also offers education and other programs at BRIC House and throughout Brooklyn.

The Strand Theatre, sometimes known as the 1918 Strand Theatre, at 647 Fulton Street and Rockwell Place, adjacent to Brooklyn Academy of Music's Harvey Theatre, was a vaudeville house that is currently home to BRIC and UrbanGlass following a two-year renovation from 2011 to 2013.

Fort Greene Park is a city-owned and -operated park in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York City. The 30.2-acre (12.2 ha) park was originally named after the fort formerly located there, Fort Putnam, which itself was named for Rufus Putnam, George Washington's Chief of Engineers in the Revolutionary War. Renamed in 1812 for Nathanael Greene, a hero of the American Revolutionary War, it was redesigned by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, who also designed Central Park and Prospect Park, in 1867. The park contains the Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument, which includes a crypt designed by Olmsted and Vaux. Across the street from its DeKalb Avenue entrance at Ft. Greene Place is Brooklyn Technical High School. To its west is the oldest hospital in Brooklyn, now called the Brooklyn Hospital Center. North of the park are the Walt Whitman Houses, one of the largest housing projects in New York City.

The Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA) is a non-profit theater in New York City focused on producing Shakespeare and other classic dramas. Its off-Broadway productions have toured in the U.S. and internationally.

The Brooklyn Music School is a community school for the performing arts in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York offering in person and online programming. Founded in 1909 as the Brooklyn Music School Settlement, it owns and operates a four-story building located at 126 St. Felix Street that contains twenty-four classrooms, three dance studios, and a 266-seat Spanish Style theatre. The school is a long-standing member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts.The Brooklyn Music School Playhouse was also the home of the Little Theatre Opera company in the 1920s. From 2011 until 2018, it was the home of Science, Language & Arts International School (SLA), a French and Mandarin immersion science- and arts-based elementary school. Muse Academy at the Brooklyn Music School was founded in 2018.

The Fulton Street station is a station on the IND Crosstown Line of the New York City Subway, located on Lafayette Avenue between South Portland Avenue and Fulton Street in Brooklyn. It is served by the G train at all times.

Long Island University Field is a baseball, soccer, and softball venue in Brooklyn, New York, United States. It was home to the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds baseball, men's and women's soccer, women's lacrosse, and softball teams of the NCAA Division I Northeast Conference until 2019, when LIU Brooklyn merged its athletics teams with those of LIU Post into a single unit, henceforth known as the Sharks, competing in Division I. Since then, the LIU baseball, soccer, women's lacrosse, and softball teams now play at the Post campus in Brookville, east of Brooklyn. The venue, which features an artificial turf surface, has a capacity of 2,000 spectators for soccer and lacrosse and 500 spectators for baseball and softball.
