Charlottetown-Brighton (District 13) is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island, Canada. It was formerly named Charlottetown-Rochford Square from 1996 to 2007.

Charlottetown is the capital and largest city of the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island, and the county seat of Queens County. Named after Queen Charlotte, Charlottetown was an unincorporated town until it was incorporated as a city in 1855.It was the site of the famous Charlottetown Conference in 1864, the first gathering of Canadian and Maritime statesmen to discuss the proposed Maritime Union. This conference led, instead, to the union of British North American colonies in 1867, which was the beginning of the Canadian confederation. Prince Edward Island, however, did not join Confederation until 1873. From this, the city adopted as its motto Cunabula Foederis, "Birthplace of Confederation". The population of Charlottetown is estimated to be 40,500 (2022); this forms the centre of a census agglomeration of 83,063 (2021), which is roughly half of the province's population (160,302).

CBAF-FM-15 is a French language Canadian radio station located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Owned and operated by the (government-owned) Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (French: Société Radio-Canada), it broadcasts on 88.1 MHz using a directional antenna with an average effective radiated power of 33,500 watts and a peak effective radiated power of 94,200 watts (class C). The station has an ad-free news/talk format and is part of the Ici Radio-Canada Première network, which operates across Canada. Like all Première stations, but unlike most FM stations, it broadcasts in mono. The station signed on sometime in the late 1970s as a rebroadcaster of CBAF in Moncton. On October 3, 1983, a first radio show was produced for the Island from Moncton (La marée de l'Île, hosted by Maurice Arsenault). In 1994, it officially became a separate station, though it still has rebroadcaster-like calls.The station has its own morning drive show, produced in Charlottetown since September 1, 1996. Denis Duchesne is the host of Le Réveil, Monday to Friday from 6 to 9 a.m. The rest of its programming is a simulcast of CBAF-FM-5 from Halifax, Nova Scotia.On November 21, 2005, the CRTC granted CBAF-FM-15 to operate rebroadcasters in St. Edward and Urbainville to serve areas on the fringe of the primary transmitter's signal. CBAF-FM-15 was originally identified as CBAF-29-FM; the call sign change took effect on September 1, 1989, as the old 1300 kHz AM signal of CBAF was shut down.

Charlottetown Research and Development Centre is a research facility that falls under the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada umbrella. The centre was founded in 1909 and focuses on research to enhance environmentally sustainable crop production systems of the Atlantic regions.

The Prince Edward Island Hospital is a former acute care hospital that was located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. It was the first public general hospital established in the province and the largest such facility throughout its history. The facility was established by the provincial government on January 28, 1884 on a property known as "Haszard House" located at present-day 24-36 Longworth Avenue in the northeast part of the city. The Prince Edward Island Hospital was predated by the Charlottetown Hospital, which was established in 1879 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlottetown. The city's residents demanded that the government open "a general" hospital that was not affiliated with a religious body. As such, the Prince Edward Island Hospital was frequently referred to as the "Protestant" hospital, however the facility was secular and had no affiliation with a religious denomination. In 1891 the first nursing school in the province was opened when the Prince Edward Island Hospital School of Nursing was established. In 1896 the trustees of the Prince Edward Island Hospital foresaw a greater need than Haszard House could provide and accepted the gift of Rev. Ralph Brecken's property at present-day 31 Kensington Road in the neighbouring then-rural community of Parkdale. Architect C.B. Chappell was commissioned to design and build the large brick building in June 1898 and it opened in March 1900. By the 1920s it became apparent that the Kensington Road location for the hospital was becoming over-crowded, thus the provincial government built a much larger facility on the northern part of the Government House property adjacent to Victoria Park. This new building opened in 1934 at present-day 5 Brighton Road. In 1969 the provincial government took over the operation of the Charlottetown Hospital from the Roman Catholic Church as part of the provincial development plan under premier Alex Campbell. The Prince Edward Island Hospital and the Charlottetown Hospital were identified for replacement with a single modern facility. The Prince Edward Island Hospital School of Nursing was merged with other nursing schools in the province in 1969 to form the Prince Edward Island School of Nursing. This education facility closed in 1994 when its diploma programs transferred to the bachelor program at the University of Prince Edward Island. In 1982, after 97 years of service, the Prince Edward Island Hospital closed its doors when the Queen Elizabeth Hospital opened. The opening of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 1982 also saw the end of abortion services in the province, which had been provided at the Prince Edward Island Hospital since the late 1960s. One of the conditions that the Roman Catholic Church placed on the provincial government of Premier James Lee for merging the Catholic-affiliated Charlottetown Hospital with the secular and publicly operated Prince Edward Island Hospital into the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital was that all abortion services in the province be discontinued.

St. Peter's Cathedral, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, was founded in 1869 as a result of the influence of the Oxford Movement. Since that time, the parish has remained Anglo-Catholic in ethos and practice.

All Souls' Chapel is a historic chapel attached to St. Peter's Cathedral in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Built of Prince Edward Island sandstone in the High Victorian Gothic style of architecture, it overlooks Rochford Square.

The Jean Canfield Building is a Government of Canada office building located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. It is named after Jean Canfield, the first woman elected to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island. The Jean Canfield building is one of the most environmentally friendly buildings ever constructed by Public Works and Government Services Canada. The structure is a modest 17,500 m2 rising 5 stories, and houses approximately 500 civil servants, most from Veterans Affairs Canada. The project was under the supervision of the Department of Public Works and Government Services and is striving for what is known as Gold LEED certification, taking into consideration that it was conceived as a national showcase for sustainable and green design. It has a 108 kW solar panel on the roof, which in 2007 was the largest grid tied solar array in Canada.

The Bog is a former neighbourhood in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. The community was settled in the early 19th century by Black people who were enslaved, who had been brought to the colony by their Loyalist enslavers after the American Revolutionary War. The neighbourhood was bounded by Euston, Pownal, Richmond, and West streets, and by Government Pond. The neighbourhood was demolished for a redevelopment project in the early 20th century.

Charlottetown City Hall is the seat of City Council in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is located at 199 Queen Street at the corner of Kent Street. It was designed by architects John Lemuel Phillips and Charles Benjamin Chappell in the Romanesque Revival style. It was built by contractor William H. Fraser beginning in 1887 and was completed in 1888. The fire hall designed by Charles Benjamin Chappell and John Marshall Hunter opened in 1916.It was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada on November 23, 1984.
