Bridford

Dunsford is a village in Devon, England, just inside the Dartmoor National Park. The place-name 'Dunsford' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Dunesforda, meaning 'Dunn's ford'.The village has a number of traditional thatched cottages; a primary school which has a swimming pool, climbing wall and sports field; one village shop and post office; a tea room and a public house. St Mary's Church, built between 1420 and 1455, is located in the village centre. Dunsford holds a village show at the beginning of July every year and the Dunsford Amateur Dramatic Society (DADS) produces a pantomime in the Village Hall in early January. The villagers also hold an annual fancy dress pancake race in the streets. Dunsford Halt was a station on the Teign Valley Line from Exeter to Heathfield station that served the village from 1928 to 1958. Great Fulford House lies to the west of Dunsford; a Domesday manor which has been the home of the Fulford family since at least 1190. The present house was mainly built in the early 16th century and is a semi-fortified mansion house built round a central courtyard. It was the backdrop to the 2014 reality-television programme, Life Is Toff. Nearby is Dunsford Woods nature reserve which is managed by Devon Wildlife Trust and consists of 57 hectares of river valley woodland, heath-covered rocky slopes and fertile flood-plain scrub and grassland. It is especially known for its wild daffodils and six species of fritillary butterfly. The hamlet of Butts is about one mile west of Dunsford, and generally considered to be part of the village, as is "Reedy," a similar distance to the East.

Christow is a village and civil parish in the Teignbridge district of Devon, England, about 12 miles (19 km) southwest of Exeter. The village is in the Teign Valley, just off the B3193 road that links Chudleigh and Dunsford. Christow is on the eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park.

Christow Railway Station's previously known as Teign House was a railway station serving the villages of Christow, Bridford and Doddiscombsleigh in Devon, England located on the line between Newton Abbot and Exeter. The station is/was actually in the parish of Doddiscombsleigh as the parish boundary is the River Teign.

Canonteign Falls is a waterfall in the historic tything of Canonteign in the Teign Valley and Dartmoor National Park near Chudleigh, South Devon, England. It is 220 feet (70 m) high and is one of the highest waterfalls in England. It was created in 1890 by diverting a stream over the edge of a cliff.

Lower Ashton is a village on the western slopes of Haldon in Teignbridge, Devon, England. Along with Higher Ashton it is part of the civil parish of Ashton, which in 2001 had a population of 174. Its bridge across the River Teign, known as Spara Bridge, was built in 1604.

Ashton railway station was a railway station serving the village of Ashton in Devon, England. It was located on the Teign Valley line.

Great Rock Mine is a disused micaceous haematite mine about 3 km north of the town of Bovey Tracey in Devon, England. It was worked from the nineteenth century until 1969, and was the last active mine in the Dartmoor National Park area.At its most active during the 1940s, the mine produced 2,500 tons of micaceous haematite per year. The mineral was an important ingredient in the rust-resistant paint used on Royal Navy ships and on bridges, including the Royal Albert Bridge and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Kelly Mine is a disused metalliferous mine situated on the eastern flank of Dartmoor near the village of Lustleigh in Devon, England. It was intermittently operational from the 1790s until 1951. It is one of some ten mines and two or three trials within the triangle formed by the towns of Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead and the village of Hennock, which worked deposits of micaceous haematite, known as "shiny ore". Since 1984 the mine has been the subject of a volunteer restoration project.

Great Fulford is an historic estate in the parish of Dunsford, Devon. The grade I listed manor house, known as Great Fulford House, is about 9 miles west of Exeter. Its site was said in 1810 to be "probably the most ancient in the county". The present mansion house is Tudor (16th century) with refurbishment from the late 17th century and further remodelling from about 1800. The prefix "Great" dates from the late 17th century and served to distinguish it from the mansion house known as "Little Fulford" in the parish of Shobrooke, Devon, about 8 miles to the north-east, also owned briefly by Col. Francis Fulford (1666–1700), as a result of his marriage to the heiress of the Tuckfield family. Great Fulford has been the residence of the Fulford family (originally "de Fulford"), which took its name from the estate, from the reign of King Richard I (1189–1199) to the present day. There are thus few, if any, families in Devonshire of more ancient recorded origin still resident at their original seat. In 2004 the estate comprised 3,000 acres (1200 ha).

Lustleigh station was on the Moretonhampstead and South Devon Railway serving the village of Lustleigh, Devon, England. Lustleigh was the penultimate station on this 12.3 mile (20 km) branchline off the South Devon Main Line. It had a single platform and one siding. The platform survives and the station building has been greatly enlarged. The Moretonhampstead and South Devon Railway company was formed in 1861, and work on the line commenced in 1863. The line opened to the public in 1866 and converted from broad gauge to standard gauge in 1892. The station was host to a GWR camp coach from 1934 to 1939. A camping coach was also positioned here by the Western Region from 1952 to 1958.The station closed to passengers after the last train on 28 February 1959, with goods trains continuing until 1964. The station was used on 28 February 1931 for the film The Hound of the Baskervilles, its name being temporarily changed to Baskerville.

The Church of St John the Baptist is the Church of England parish church of the village of Lustleigh, Devon, located in the centre of the village.
