World Cup Stadium station (Seoul)

The Seoul World Cup Stadium (Korean: 서울월드컵경기장), also known as Sangam Stadium, is a stadium used mostly for association football matches. The venue is located in 240, World Cup-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It was built for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and opened on November 10, 2001. It is currently the second largest stadium in South Korea after Seoul Olympic Stadium, and is the 2nd largest rectangular stadium in Asia. It was designed to represent the image of a traditional Korean kite. The stadium has a capacity of 66,704 seats, including 816 seats for VIP, 754 seats for press and 75 private Sky Box rooms, each with a capacity for 12 to 29 persons. Due to table seats installation, capacity was reduced from 66,806 seats to 66,704 seats in February 2014. Since the World Cup it has been managed by the Seoul Metropolitan Facilities Management Corporation (SMFMC). FC Seoul moved to the Seoul World Cup Stadium in 2004.

Digital Media City Station (디지털미디어시티역) is a railway station on Seoul Subway Line 6, AREX and the Gyeongui-Jungang Line. The former names of this station were Multimedia City Station (멀티미디어시티역) for the AREX station and Susaek (수색) for the Line 6.

Seoul Ring is the English nickname for the Millennium Gate project, which was planned to be built along the Han River (Korea) in Peace Park, Mapo District, Seoul. It is also the abbreviation for the Seoul Ring Zero, a giant Ferris wheel that was planned to be constructed in Sky Park, Mapo District, Seoul. Although the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced the Seoul Ring Zero, now renamed to Seoul Twin Eye, and the project is underway in Peace Park, Mapo District, Mayor Oh Se-hoon announced they would continue to use the name 'Seoul Ring' due to the difficulty in pronunciation.

Mapo District (Korean: 마포구, romanized: Mapo-gu) is one of the 25 districts of Seoul, South Korea. Mapo has a population of 381,330 (2015) and has a geographic area of 23.87 km2 (9.22 sq mi), and is divided into 24 dong (administrative neighborhoods). Mapo is located in western Seoul on the northern bank of the Han River, bordering the Gyeonggi Province city of Goyang to the northwest, and the Seoul city districts of Gangseo to the west, Yeongdeungpo to the south, Yongsan to the southeast, Jung to the east, and Seodaemun and Eunpyeong to the north. Mapo is home to several universities and government buildings, and is well known for the Hongdae club district around Hongik University. Mapo is connected to the Seoul Metropolitan Subway's Line 2, Line 5, and Line 6, as well as the Airport Railroad, and the Korail Gyeongui-Jungang Line, which all pass through this district. The Seoul World Cup Stadium, a famous landmark in Seoul, is located in Sangam in northwest Mapo.

The Millennium Gate (Native name: 천년의 문, Nickname: Seoul Ring) was envisioned in 2000 as the world's first mega-sized ring-shaped architectural structure. It was planned to be erected along the Han River in Sangam-dong, Seoul, in conjunction with the new millennium (Millennium), and the 2002 Korea-Japan FIFA World Cup (2002 FIFA World Cup).

The Digital Media City Landmark Building (Korean: 디지털 미디어 시티 랜드마크 빌딩) or DMC Landmark Building, also known as Seoul Lite or Light Tower, was a 133-floor, 640 m (2,100 ft) supertall skyscraper proposed for construction in Digital Media City, Seoul, South Korea. It was slated to become the third-tallest building in the world when completed, after Burj Khalifa and Pingan International Finance Centre. It would have been the tallest building in Korea. Construction broke ground on 16 October 2009, and was scheduled to be completed and ready for occupancy by April 2015. It was to be built with the country's own capital and technology at an estimated cost of 3.3 trillion won (US$2.9 billion).The design and engineering of the DMC Landmark Building was performed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The local architect of record was Samoo. The building was to house an observation deck on 133rd floor at 540 m (1,772 ft), from which visitors will be able to see the entire metropolis of Seoul and as far as Gaeseong, North Korea. It would have been the tallest observation deck in the world, higher than those of Burj Khalifa on the 124th floor at 440 m (1,444 ft) and the 100th floor of the Shanghai World Financial Center at 474 m (1,555 ft). Six through eight-star hotels would have been located on the 108th-130th floors, surpassing the Park Hyatt Hotel (79th-93rd floors) in the Shanghai World Financial Center, as the highest hotel rooms in the world. All functions of a futuristic, 21st century city were to be incorporated into the building, including the most high-tech office and residential spaces, a department store, luxury shopping malls, a large convention center, the world's largest interactive aquarium, international restaurants and facilities for media, culture and exhibitions. The landmark building was backed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and was being constructed at the fastest speed among major skyscraper projects by Samsung C&T.It was cancelled for budgetary reasons and the collapse of South Korean property market bubble in 2012.

Digital Media City (DMC; Korean: 디지털미디어시티) is a high-tech complex for digital technologies, housing ubiquitous networked offices, apartments, exhibitions, conference halls, television network headquarters and cultural centers in Seoul, South Korea. It is located at 366, Worldcupbuk-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul. It was constructed in 2006 across 570,000 m2 (6,100,000 sq ft) and approximately 1.7 times the size of the Canary Wharf development in London, United Kingdom. It is a high-tech city centered on Digital Media Street for broadcasting, movies, games, music, e-learning and related industries. It attracted well-known IT companies such as LG Telecom, Pantech and LG CNS, media companies like MBC, JTBC, YTN, as well as various kinds of public exhibition facilities including the Korean Film Archive and the Korean Film Museum. It is served by the Digital Media City Station on Seoul Subway Line 6, AREX and Gyeongui Line. Residents of the Digital Media City are nicknamed Denizens (Digital Citizen) for their constant enthusiasm and interaction with high-tech digital technologies.The original advisors on the development include Dennis Frenchman and Michael Joroff of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) who also advised on the development of MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester, England, and Digital Mile in Zaragoza, Spain.

Susaek Station is a station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line. It is also the former name of Digital Media City Station on Line 6 of the Seoul Subway. Mugunghwa-ho and Saemaeul-ho trains that operate up to Seoul or Yongsan Stations are serviced at the Susaek Train Depot behind this station. At the search vehicle base right next to Susaek Station, Otaku, then a middle school student, caused a disturbance while touring the search vehicle base on August 4, 2017, and the tour of the base was suspended for two years. The Internet community DC Inside Railway Gallery criticized the incident.

Bukgajwa-dong is a dong, neighbourhood of Seodaemun-gu in Seoul, South Korea. Seoul Metropolitan City Tangible Cultural Heritage Number 41, Hwasangunsindobi (Prince Hwasangun's tomb monument), is located here.

The Korean Film Museum (Korean: 한국영화박물관) is a national museum dedicated to the cinema of Korea located in Mapo District, Seoul, South Korea. It opened on May 9, 2008. Entrance is free of charge.The museum is associated with the Korean Film Archive, and is physically located within the archive's main building. It was elevated to the status of national museum in 2015, and was the only film museum in South Korea at that time. It has hosted a number of special exhibits. Topics include women in cinema, 21st century cinema, and directors like Yu Hyun-mok.Its permanent exhibits first cover the invention of film, then moves to how film spread to Korea during the Joseon and Korean Empire periods. It then covers the character of films in each major era of modern Korean history, including the Japanese colonial period, the Liberation of Korea, the Korean War, and South Korean film. It also highlights films, filmmakers, and actors that it finds exceptional and definitive to each time period.
