Helsinge (municipality)

Helsinge is the municipal seat of Gribskov Municipality in Region Hovedstaden on Zealand in Denmark. As of 1 January 2023, it has a population of 8,906.

Helsinge station is a railway station serving the town of Helsinge in North Zealand, Denmark.Helsinge station is located on the Gribskov Line from Hillerød to Tisvildeleje. The station was opened in 1897 with the opening of the Kagerup-Helsinge section of the Gribskov Line. The train services are operated by the railway company Lokaltog which runs frequent local train services between Tisvildeleje station and Hillerød station.

Helsinge-Hallen is an indoor sports arena in Helsinge, Denmark, primarily used for handball. The arena can hold 1,600 spectators and is home to Danish Handball League team Nordsjælland Håndbold.

Kongernes Nordsjælland (Royal North Zealand) is a national park in the northern region of the island of Zealand, Denmark. It opened in 2018.

Annisse Nord is a town in the Gribskov Municipality in North Zealand, Denmark. It is located two kilometers north of Annisse, three kilometers south of Helsinge and 15 kilometers northwest of Hillerød. As of 2023, it has a population of 1,557. The Bjørnehøjskolen school is located in the town.

Gribskov Kommune is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region"). The municipality covers an area of 278 km², and has a total population of 41,547 (1. January 2023). The municipality was created on 1 January 2007 as a merger of the former municipalities of Græsted-Gilleleje and Helsinge. Its mayor as of 1 January 2018 is Anders Gerner Frost, a member of the local Nytgribskov (New Gribskov) political party.

Blistrup is a town in the Gribskov Municipality in North Zealand, Denmark. As of 2023, it has a population of 1,180.

Holbo Herred (Holbo Hundred) was an administrative division in Frederiksborg County in the northern part of the island of Zealand, Denmark. It comprised the present-day Gribskov Municipality plus the parish of Nødebo (which today is in Hillerød Municipality). Previously, Holbo was under Strø Herred.

Vejby Church (Danish: Vejby Kirke) is a Church of Denmark parish church situated in the little village of Vejby, between Tisvilde and Helsinge, Gribskov Municipality, some 60 km northwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. It consists of a Romanesque nave from the first half of the 12th century, tower and chancel from around 1500 and two porches from the 19th century. It is notable for its late Gothic fresco paintings in the chancel arch from the 15th century. The painter Eiler Bille is buried in the associated graveyard.

Kagerup is a village in the Gribskov Municipality in North Zealand, Denmark. It is located six kilometers southeast of Helsinge and 10 kilometers north of Hillerød. As of 2023, it had a population of 403. Kagerup is served by Kagerup railway station, located on the Gribskov railway line, about 1 km (0.62 mi) west of the village.

Vejby is a parish and small town in Gribskov Municipality, near Zealand's Kattegat coast, some 50 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The town of Vejby is located three kilometres east of Tisvilde and three kilometres south of Rågeleje, both popular coastal resorts, and seven kilometres north of Helsinge. Vejby Station is located on the Tisvilde branch of the Gribskov Railway and is served by Lokaltog. The town's most notable landmark is its 12th-century church. Vejby Strand (Vejby Beach) is a summer house area.
