Pittsville is a town in Wicomico County, Maryland, United States. As of the 2020 census, Pittsville had a population of 1,636. It is included in the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area. It was named for Dr. Hillary R. Pitts, president of the Worcester & Pocomoke Railroad ca 1868-1870.

Wicomico Demonstration Forest is primarily forested land. This area is used by the Maryland Forest Service to demonstrate various timber management techniques and practices. Six marked recreational trails (4 loops, 2 connecting) are offered, ranging from short hikes to longer day trips. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on trails, however hiking, horseback riding and bicycling are acceptable uses, trail conditions permitting. Dark Blue Trail: 2.6-mile loop trail. A parking area for large vehicles is located at the head of the trail on Morris Road. A picnic area is located at the convergence of the loop trail approximately 0.6 miles from the parking area. Green Trail: 1.0-mile loop trail around the arboretum. This trail shares a section with the White Trail. Red Trail: 2.2-mile loop trail. This trail shares a section with the White Trail. Growing and mature pine and hardwood forests and a habitat restoration project with an early successional forest plan are the highlights of this trail. White Trail: 6.1-mile loop trail. This trail shares some sections with the Green and Red Trails. As the longest marked loop trail, this trail features numerous pine stands and management regimes indicative of the Wicomico Demonstration Forest. Light Blue Trail: 0.8-mile trail that parallels the northwestern portion of the White Trail between Sixty Foot Road and Seymore Road. Orange Trail: 0.7-mile trail that connects Shavox Road and the White Trail to the Light Blue Trail. Parking for the Green, Red, and White trails is available at the Wicomico County Forestry Office on Sixty Foot Road. The parking area on Sixty Foot Road can accommodate large vehicles such as horse trailers. Additional parking for the Red, White, Light Blue, and Orange trails is available on Shavox Road, Seymore Road, and Powell Road.

Powellville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Wicomico County, Maryland, United States. Its population was 189 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Whitesville is an unincorporated community in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. Whitesville is located just north of the stateline with Maryland. between Delmar and Selbyville. Local folklore ascribes the name to Ezekiel Williams, who built the first house in the village. It is the site of the Line United Methodist Church.

Wor–Wic Community College is a public community college in Salisbury, Maryland. The college's name is a portmanteau of Maryland's Worcester and Wicomico counties. It was founded in 1975 and operated as a "college without walls" in the two counties for 20 years before constructing a campus in Salisbury in 1994. In 1989, state legislation was enacted to allow Somerset County residents to attend Wor-Wic at the in-county tuition rate.As of 2023 there were 4,486 students enrolled in credit courses and 6,496 students enrolled in non-credit courses. Wor-Wic is popular with students who plan on transferring to Salisbury University because of its proximity, inexpensive tuition, and the similarity of its general education courses to those of Salisbury University.

WRDE-FM (103.9 MHz) is an American radio station in the Delmarva region of Maryland. The station is licensed to serve Berlin, Maryland, although its studios and main offices are located in the larger nearby city of Salisbury. WRDE-FM is owned by Draper Holdings Business Trust. The station, along with WCEM-FM (106.3) in Cambridge, broadcasts a country music format.

Salisbury is the largest metropolitan area of Maryland's Eastern Shore with a population of 405,803 in the metropolitan statistical area, and is centrally located on the Delmarva Peninsula. Since SBY Regional Airport is the only commercial airport with daily scheduled flights in the area, it also serves Delaware, the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland, which include the other towns of Ocean City, Cambridge, and Easton. American Eagle operates three round trip flights per day to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and one round trip flight per day to Philadelphia International Airport.

Gumboro is an unincorporated community in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. It is part of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2006, legislation to establish Gumboro as an incorporated town was passed by the Delaware General Assembly, but and was vetoed by Governor Ruth Ann Minner as no civic government was to be immediately convened, leaving a gap in government from when the town was incorporated and left county control, until the election of a government. Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) was first discovered in Gumboro in 1962 and thus has been known as Gumboro disease. This virus causes an immuno-suppressive disease in chickens. The disease is usually sub-clinical in birds less than two weeks of age and clinical disease is generally observed in birds over two weeks of age. The town has a community center along Millsboro Highway that previously was used as a school house. The town is also home to Bayshore Community Church, a large church compared to others in the area. The West Woods Methodist Episcopal Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Whaleyville [weɪliːvɪl] is a census-designated place in Worcester County, Maryland, United States. The population was 149 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Arthur W. Perdue Stadium is a baseball stadium in Salisbury, Maryland. It is the home of the Baltimore Orioles Carolina League affiliate Delmarva Shorebirds. Named for the founder of Perdue Farms, Arthur Perdue, it features the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame. The stadium seats 5,200 fans and opened in 1996.As the second-largest seating venue in Salisbury, it also occasionally is used for concerts or other events. Until 2016, the larger Wicomico Youth and Civic Center had a real covenant against serving alcohol. As such, the stadium was chosen as the venue for Fernando Guerrero's middleweight title-winning boxing match in October 2009.The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) played their 2018 and 2019 seasons at Perdue Stadium while Hawk Stadium in Princess Anne was renovated. Perdue Stadium hosted the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference baseball tournament from 2015 to 2017.In 1998, the stadium hosted the Delmarva Rockfish, a team in the single-season Maryland Fall Baseball league.
