Doane College Historic Buildings

KDNE (91.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an Indie format. Licensed in Crete, Nebraska, United States. The station is currently owned by the Doane University Board of Trustees.

The Doane College Osterhout Arboretum is an arboretum at Doane College, Crete, Nebraska, named in honour of M. David Osterhout. The Doane College Arboretum was officially rededicated as Osterhout Arboretum on May 9, 2002. The arboretum honors M. David Osterhout, a 1937 Doane graduate and a longtime college employee who served the college in many capacities, including acting president, treasurer, and senior vice president. Osterhout was also a leader in campus landscaping and plant preservation throughout his tenure at the college. The 300-acre (1.2 km2) Osterhout Arboretum includes special gardens; several distinctive, historical tree groves; lakes; an outdoor amphitheater; fountains; and wooded nature trails. Doane College has been a partner in the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum since 1979. This network of horticulture sites was established to promote knowledge, appreciation, and conservation of trees and other plants throughout the state.

Doane University is a private university in Crete, Nebraska. It has additional campuses in Lincoln and Omaha, as well as online programs.

Crete is a city in and the most populous municipality of Saline County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 7,099 at the 2020 census. The city is home to Doane University.

The Johnston-Muff House, also known as the Charles Algermissen House, is a historic house in Crete, Nebraska. It was built in 1885 for John R. Johnston, an immigrant from Canada and homesteader who "built several commercial buildings for rental purposes" in Crete. In 1892, it was acquired by Catherine Hier Muff, an immigrant from Prussia and recent widow of John Muff, an immigrant from Switzerland. The house was designed in the Queen Anne architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since September 19, 1977.

The Frank J. Rademacher House is a historic house in Crete, Nebraska. It was built in 1894 by Frank Joseph Rademacher, a German immigrant, and his wife, Mary Pavlik, an immigrant from Bohemia (now the Czech Republic). Rademacher sold furniture and carpets, and he was the vice president of the Crete Loan and Savings Company. The house was designed in the Queen Anne architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 11, 1980.

The Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church is a historic church building in Crete, Nebraska. It was built for the Episcopal Church in 1872, and extended in 1889 and 1896. By the late 1890s, most parishioners were immigrants from Bohemia (now known as the Czech Republic). Attendance declined, and the church "was closed seven times between 1896-1938". The building was designed in the Late Gothic Revival architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since September 14, 1979.

The Telocvicna Jednota "T.J." Sokol Hall, also known as Crete Sokol Hall or SA01-176, is an historic building located in Crete, Nebraska that was built in 1915. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 26, 2003. The building historically served as a host for Sokol gymnastic events and as a meeting hall for the Czech community.

The Jesse C. Bickle House, also known as The Maples, is a historic house in Crete, Nebraska. It was built by homesteader Jesse C. Bickle as a one-story log house in 1864, and a second story was added in the 1870s. Bickle owned a brickyard in Crete and a store in Pleasant Hill. The house was designed in the Carpenter Gothic architectural style. It was purchased by Milton O. Smith in 1923, and renamed The Maples. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since November 23, 1977.

Berks is an Unincorporated community in Lancaster and Saline counties in Nebraska, United States. The community is located approximately three miles (4.8 km) northeast of Crete on the BNSF Railroad Line and north of Nebraska Highway 33.
