Harrowsmith is a community in South Frontenac, Ontario, Canada. Located north of Kingston, it was once noted for the cheddar cheese produced by the Harrowsmith Cheese Factory. As a farming village in an area resettled by many back-to-the-land emigrants from urban areas in the 1960s–1980s, the village gave its name to the country living magazine Harrowsmith. The village was once the junction of the Bay of Quinte Railway and the Kingston and Pembroke Railway. These rail lines eventually came under Canadian National Railway (CN) and Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) ownership respectively. The Harrowsmith railway station had a livestock pen, facilitating the transportation of livestock by rail. Both lines saw eventual abandonment and conversion into rail trails known as the Cataraqui Trail and the K&P Rail Trail, which still meet each other at Harrowsmith as their railway predecessors did.Harrowsmith is home to Centennial Park, a large park adjacent to Road 38 which includes soccer fields, baseball diamonds, play structures and hosts many community activities.

CFLY-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 98.3 FM in Kingston, Ontario. The station currently broadcasts an adult contemporary format branded as Move 98.3. The station broadcasts with 95,500 watts of power from its transmitter located in Harrowsmith. The station is owned by Bell Media.

The Holleford Crater is a meteorite crater near the community of Holleford, part of South Frontenac, Ontario, Canada. It is 2.35 kilometres (1.5 mi) in diameter and the age is estimated to be 550 ± 100 million years (Ediacaran or Cambrian). Although there is a surface depression over the area, the crater itself is not exposed at the surface. Holleford Crater was discovered in the 1950s during analysis of aerial photographs under the direction of Carlyle S. Beals of the Dominion Observatory in Ottawa. In the late 1950s, the Geological Survey of Canada conducted a series of four geophysical studies: magnetic observations, seismic studies, gravity studies, and a diamond drilling program. The seismic and gravity studies and the drilling all produced data consistent with the impact theory. The drill core revealed breccia and similar materials at predicted depths. The studies concluded that an ancient meteorite impact crater is present in the Precambrian bedrock below the surface. The meteorite was estimated to be approximately 100 metres (330 ft) in diameter and to have impacted at approximately 55,000 kilometres per hour (34,000 mph).

Peters Lake (French: lac Peters) is a lake in the municipality of South Frontenac, Frontenac County in eastern Ontario, Canada. It is in the Lake Ontario drainage basin. Peters Lake has an area of 20.52 hectares (50.7 acres) and lies at an elevation of 124 metres (407 ft). The settlement of Murvale lies just south of the lake on Frontenac County Road 38. The primary inflow, at the north, and outflow, at the south, is Millhaven Creek, which flows to Lake Ontario.

Sydenham, named after Lord Sydenham, is a community in Frontenac County, located in the municipality of South Frontenac. It is situated at the west end of Sydenham Lake and located north of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The former Canadian Northern Railway runs through the north end of town, which when the local section was completed, formed the first rail link between Toronto and Ottawa. The abandoned railway right of way is now part of the Trans Canada Trail. Sydenham once held the township offices for Loughborough Township, but after the neighbouring townships amalgamated, it is now the seat for the Township of South Frontenac. Although located in a farming community, many of the area residents work in Kingston. Sydenham has more amenities than many of the smaller surrounding towns making it a hub for the region.

Loughborough Public School is a junior kindergarten through grade eight school in Sydenham, Ontario adjacent to Sydenham High School. It is part of the Limestone District School Board. The Loughborough school building was constructed over 100 years ago. Since then, it has undergone two expansions and renovations. The most recent change was in 1993. At that time, the front entrance was reconstructed, a new library was built, the design of the upper level facility office space was improved, and new classrooms were built. In 2002, Queen's University awarded the Associate School of the Year Award to the Loughborough School. Loughborough Public School created the annual one-day Girls Active Living and Sport (G.A.L.S.) conference. After learning about G.A.L.S., Oprah Winfrey initiated a contest for student leaders setting healthy examples.

Sydenham High School is located about 20 minutes north of Kingston, Ontario in the village of Sydenham, Ontario adjacent to Loughborough Public School. It is part of the Limestone District School Board.

Gould Lake Conservation Area is a rural conservation area located in the Canadian Shield northwest of the community of Sydenham in the Township of South Frontenac, Frontenac County, in eastern Ontario, Canada. The area was created to manage water resources, preserve wildlife habitat, and provide recreational and educational opportunities, and is managed by the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority. The conservation area contains much of Gould Lake.

Depot Creek is a river in Frontenac County and Lennox and Addington County in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is in the Great Lakes Basin and is a left tributary of the Napanee River.

Gould Lake is a lake north of the community of Sydenham in the Township of South Frontenac, Frontenac County, in eastern Ontario, Canada. It is on the Canadian Shield, is part of the Great Lakes Basin, and is part of the headwaters of the Millhaven Creek system. In the 19th century and early-20th century, the area around Gould Lake was noted for its mica mines. Gould Lake drains south through Silvers Lake and Little Long Lake, and then into Eel Bay, an extension of Sydenham Lake. Sydenham Lake in turn drains into Millhaven Creek, which flows to Lake Ontario. Much of the southwest end of the lake is in the Gould Lake Conservation Area, which is under the management of the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority.

Sydenham Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada to the east of the town of Sydenham. The lake drains into Lake Ontario through Millhaven Creek to the west.

Godfrey is a small community located about 40 minutes' drive time north of Kingston, Ontario, Canada on Hwy. 38. It is named for Chester H. Godfrey, one of the original settlers, who donated land on which the village was built. While there is currently no specific village, it can be described as the area of Highway 38 that extends between the villages of Verona and Parham, as well as that portion of Westport Road extending to the hamlet of Burridge. It also includes the former settlement of Cole Lake. (which possessed a separate rail station, known as Hinchinbrooke Station, and postal outlet up to the early part of the 20th century). Godfrey was originally in the Township of Hinchinbrooke which has since become amalgamated into the township of Central Frontenac, which also encompasses the townships of Kennebec, Olden and Oso.
