DTU Space

The Department of Mathematics at DTU (Danish: Institut for Matematik, MAT) is an institute at the Technical University of Denmark. It was founded to consolidate all mathematical research and teaching in one institute. All bsc.-students at DTU receive at least 20 ECTS points worth of classes from MAT during their first year. The institute is located in building 303 S at Matematiktorvet, quadrant 3 on Lundtoftesletten in Lyngby, Denmark.

The Center for Electron Nanoscopy (CEN) is a center for electron microscopy at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Inaugurated in December 2007, the institute was funded by a donation of DKK100 million from the A.P. Møller and Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller Foundation. DTU CEN houses seven electron microscopes built by FEI Company ranging from a standard scanning electron microscope to two highly specialized Titan transmission electron microscopes. The microscopes are available for use by both in-house and external users. The center is located at DTU, in the northeastern end of the city of Lyngby. The instruments are housed in a new building designed especially for the microscopes, 314, and the offices are located on the first floor of the neighbouring building, 307.

The Technical University of Denmark (Danish: Danmarks Tekniske Universitet), often simply referred to as DTU, is a polytechnic university and school of engineering. It was founded in 1829 at the initiative of Hans Christian Ørsted as Denmark's first polytechnic, and it is today ranked among Europe's leading engineering institutions. It is located in the town Kongens Lyngby, 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. Along with École Polytechnique in Paris, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Eindhoven University of Technology, Technical University of Munich and Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, DTU is a member of EuroTech Universities Alliance.

Lundtofte Flyveplads (Lundtofte Aerodrome) is a former airport for both military and civilian use. Currently, the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is built on the site. The airport opened in 1917 and the last flight was in 1959.

Lundtofte Church (Danish: Lundtofte Kirke) is a Church of Denmark parish church in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was completed in 1921 but is built in the style of a typical Danish white-washed village church.

Lyngby Stadion is a combined football and athletics stadium in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark. It is owned by the municipality of Lyngby-Taarbæk. It is the home of the football club Lyngby Boldklub, and Trongårdens IF athletics association. The stadium has a capacity of approximately 10,000 with 3,100 seated. The stadium was taken in use for Lyngby in 1949 and it consists of two stands, the "old" and the "new" stand. The old stand was built in 1968 and the new stand, which primarily is a no-seated stand followed. Lights were installed in 1964. In 1989 the "new" clubhouse by the stadium was taken in use. In 2007 and 2008 there were many discussions if the stadium should be expanded, or whether Lyngby-Taarbæk municipality should build a new stadium for the club.

Brede is a neighbourhood (Danish: bydel, a named neighbourhood) 14 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located east of Virum, south of Ørholm, west of Lundtofte and north of Sorgenfri. Frilandsmuseet (The Open Air Museum), and The National Museum of Denmark's new museum, Brede Works, is located in Brede. Nærumbanen stops in Brede.

Bondebyen (Pesants' Town in Danish) is a historical neighbourhood of Kongens Lyngby. It is considered the best-preserved country town of the Copenhagen area, albeit it is now in the middle of the heavily urbanized Lyngby-Taarbæk municipality. Among the notable buildings is the house of Støvlet-Cathrine, as well as Lindegaarden (Linden Farm), built between 1841–1883. Høstvej nr. 4, Vilhelminelyst, was Gyrithe Lemche's ancestral home. The known jurist Janus Kolderup-Rosenvinge lived in Høstvej nr. 6, and the merchant J. Fr. Tutein lived in Asylgade nr. 7. The association Bondebylauget has worked since 1970 to preserve, improve and restore the area; its president, Niels Friderichsen, is generally recognized to have saved Bondebyen from destruction by the buldozer-happy Lyngby-Taarbæk municipality. Most of the buildings in Bondebyen are now listed.

Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality (occasionally spelled Lyngby-Tårbæk) is a municipality (Danish: kommune) in the Capital Region of Denmark near Copenhagen on the eastern coast of the island of Zealand (Danish: Sjælland). It is part of the Greater Copenhagen area. The municipality borders Rudersdal Municipality to the north, Furesø Municipality to the west and Gladsaxe and Gentofte Municipality to the south. It borders the Øresund to the east. The municipality covers an area of 39 km², and has a population of 58,434 (2023). Its mayor is Sofia Osmani, a member of the Conservative People's Party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Kongens Lyngby. Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality was not merged with any other municipality in the municipal reform of 2007.

Kongens Lyngby ([ˈkʰʌŋŋ̍s ˈløŋˌpyˀ], Danish for "the King's Heather Town"; short form Lyngby) is the seat and commercial centre of Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. Lyngby Hovedgade is a busy shopping street and the site of a branch of Magasin du Nord as well as Lyngby Storcenter. The district is also home to several major companies, including COWI A/S, Bang & Olufsen, ICEpower a/s and Microsoft. The Technical University of Denmark relocated to Lyngby from central Copenhagen in the 1970s. Lyngby station is located on the Hillerød radial of Copenhagen's S-train network.

Lundtofte is a neighbourhood in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality, located north of Kongens Lyngby. The town is bordered by Nærumbanen, the Mølleåen river, the Technical University of Denmark and the Helsingørmotorvejen. DTU is situated on the location of the former Lundtofte Flyveplads. Major company Haldor Topsøe is located in Lundtofte. Catalysts by Haldor Topsøe are used in production of around 50% of the world's fertilizer.Lundtofte Church originates from 1921.
