The Leonia Alternative High School, sometimes known as LAHS, was an American public alternative school located in Leonia, New Jersey, that existed between 1972 and 1979.

Congregation Adas Emuno is a Reform synagogue in Leonia, New Jersey. The congregation was founded in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 1871. They moved into a new synagogue in 1873, and received a donation of a Torah scroll at that time. In 1883 they erected a small new synagogue building, with a mix of Gothic and Romanesque styles. That edifice is the oldest synagogue building still standing in New Jersey, though it was subsequently used for some years as a church, and is now a residential building.In 1971, the congregation moved to Leonia, to a brick building purchased from the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.Adas Emuno owns two cemeteries. The older, smaller one is a small section of Hoboken Cemetery (but was originally part of the adjacent Flower Hill Cemetery). The larger, and slightly more recent cemetery is sited in North Arlington, NJ, across Belleville Turnpike from the Arlington Memorial Park. Adas Emuno may have been the first organization to use that cemetery, though many Jewish organizations opened additional sections within it afterwards. While the main gate for the cemetery shows Hebrew year 5669 (generally corresponding to 1909), there are gravestones dating as early as 1899 within the section.

Leonia High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grade from the Borough of Leonia in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, operating as part of the Leonia Public Schools. Students from Edgewater attend the school as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Edgewater Public Schools.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 867 students and 67.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.8:1. There were 117 students (13.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 23 (2.7% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The Leonia Public Schools is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade from Leonia, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising three schools, had an enrollment of 1,952 students and 170.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.4:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "GH", the third-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Students from Edgewater attend the district's schools for grades 7-12 as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Edgewater Public Schools.In 2005, Leonia Middle School finished the construction of its new addition. That marked the completion of the expansion of the Leonia Public Schools, along with the completion of the high school's math and science wing and Anna C. Scott Elementary School's addition and renovation, completed in 2002 and 2001, respectively.

The Church of the Madonna is a Roman Catholic church in Fort Lee, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States.

The Vreeland House is located in Leonia, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1786 by Dirck Vreeland. His son Michael D. Vreeland, added the main Dutch style wing of the house in 1815. The house remained in the Vreeland family until 1928. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 17, 1978.

Overpeck County Park is an 811-acre (3.28 km2) county park in Bergen County, New Jersey, with major sections in Leonia, Palisades Park, Ridgefield Park, and Teaneck, surrounding Overpeck Creek, a tributary of the Hackensack River.The Overpeck Creek flows to the west of the Henry Hoebel Area and the South Area of the park.

The English Neighborhood was the colonial-era name for the towns in eastern Bergen County, New Jersey, along the Hudson Palisades between the Hudson River and the Hackensack River, particularly around its main tributary, Overpeck Creek. The region had been part of the Dutch New Netherland colony of Bergen, whose main town was located at Bergen Square in modern Jersey City. The name refers to the geography of the region, bergen being the Dutch word for hills. Earlier attempts at settlement at Achter Col (after (the) hill) and Vriessendael had been compromised in conflicts with the precolonial population, bands of the Lenape known by their exonyms, the Hackensacks and the Tappans.

Civil War Drill Hall and Armory is located in Leonia, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The armory was built in 1859 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 19, 1978.

Englewood Golf Club was a private golf course in the eastern United States, located in Englewood and Leonia, New Jersey, just west of New York City. Opened 127 years ago as a nine-hole course in 1896, a second nine was added four years later; it hosted the U.S. Amateur in 1906 and the U.S. Open in 1909.The golf course met its demise in the 1960s when the approach ramp to the George Washington Bridge cut right through the middle of the property. This portion of the New Jersey Turnpike was built on the border between Englewood and Leonia, and bisected the golf course; the clubhouse was in the northeast corner of the property. Play continued on the divided course, but the financial burden became too great, and the course closed in 1976. Cross Creek Point condominiums were built on the northeast half in Englewood, and single-family houses were built on the southwest half in Leonia, with a street named Golf Course Drive. The 1909 U.S. Open was the fifteenth U.S. Open, held June 24–25 at Englewood Golf Club in Englewood, New Jersey, north of downtown New York City (Manhattan). George Sargent established a new U.S. Open scoring record to win his only major title, four strokes ahead of runner-up Tom McNamara.In the opening round on Thursday morning, David Hunter made U.S. Open history as the first player to break 70, but he had some problems in the second round when he hit his ball into a brook and subsequently used four niblick shots in getting out. After reaching the turn in 47 he made a nice recovery on the back nine and came home in 37 for 84 (he had another 84 in the third round and finished thirtieth). McNamara also had a sub-70 score with 69 in the second round and led by four strokes midway at 142.McNamara carried a two-stroke lead over Sargent into the final round on Friday afternoon. Sargent birdied the final hole for 71 and his third consecutive round of 72 or better. McNamara struggled over the final 18 holes with 77 and finished four back of Sargent. Sargent's winning total of 290 broke the U.S. Open scoring record by five shots. Bob Peebles was well positioned after three rounds on 222 but struggled and fell back into the pack with a final round 78. John McDermott made his U.S. Open debut at age 17 and was 49th. He placed in the top-ten in each of the next five, with consecutive wins in 1911 and 1912, the first American-born champion. Four-time champion Willie Anderson tied for fourth in his penultimate U.S. Open. Horace Rawlins, the inaugural champion fourteen years earlier in 1895, made his last cut in the championship and finished sixtieth.

Englewood Route 4 is a proposed station along NJ Transit's Northern Branch Corridor Project extension of Hudson-Bergen Light Rail in Englewood in lower reaches of the Northern Valley in Bergen County, New Jersey. The station site is along the CSX Transportation (CSXT) Northern Branch where it runs under New Jersey Route 4 at MP 8.8, east of Nordhoff Place and north of Sheffield Avenue.The station is designed to have an island platform, partially located under Route 4. It will include a parking deck for 945 vehicles incorporated into a storage and maintenance VBF (vehicle base facility). Vehicle access from Route 4 will be via Grand Avenue (concurrent County Route 501 and New Jersey Route 93). Approximately 6 acres (2.4 ha) of property will acquired to build the parking deck and VBF. Two other HBLR stations are planned in the city further north of Englewood Route 4 at Englewood Town Center and at Englewood Hospital, the line's terminus.The area radiating from the station site has been dubbed Englewood South. It is zoned for planned unit development (PUD) and consists mixed-use development that is undergoing a transformation from a warehouse distribution & manufacturing district into a residential, retail, and business neighborhood.
